  1. I need to check if Steel Fury has been dropped by whoever had it. It was my first character on Live, couldn't believe I got that name at the time. I rarely played the character, it was a BS/Regen Scrapper after all, but I let that character sit on my highly limited list of slots all the way to the end and made sure he got every limited season badge. The costume was just the shiny Metallic tights combo with the rounded medieval helmet; he was supposed to be like a T-1000, hence he would regenerate wounds and the sword was part of him (also why it would pop in and out of existence like that).
  2. "Obviously Siphon Life should hit like a train and heal and have decent recharge with not even that much endurance cost considering wh-GET THE F*** BACK IN YOUR BOX STALKER EVISCERATE I WILL CUT YOU I WILL F***ING CUT YOU-at it does. That's just reasonable." There's no other way to explain some of the powers in this game.
  3. *slots an extraordinarily illegal Bugged Lady Grey Proc I found amidst a very small but very intensely still sizzling spot of ashes I came across* *boop a ganger* *ganger takes 1 pt of damage* *power owner takes 13 trillion*
  4. Summary: Divine Avalanche and Parry are regular attacks, used like any other attack, that give you a 15% melee/lethal defence buff if they actually hit the target. Their defence buff can stack with itself, which can create absolutely insane levels of melee defence at the expense of cratering your DPS because they are NOT very strong attacks. NOT summary: Divine Avalanche and Parry are probably some of the most powerful defensive abilities for leveling non-Tanker characters in the game. They are absolutely bonkers. You can acquire levels of defence vastly beyond what you realistically should have at the point you get them. While people can hit back at that statement and say that it's ONLY melee/lethal, that still covers most of the damage that will be thrown at you, and there's just no way to argue at all with how absolutely enormous that stackable 15% is. It's better than.....almost every single defence providing power in the game that isn't one of the clickable "Oh shit" T9 buttons. Off the top of my head, I think ONLY Tanker SR/ and the megastacked Stalker /EA Kinetic Shield beats it. That is crazy.
  5. They probably still make a to-hit roll, so in any given explosion there'll be a bunch of regular citizens standing around not even singed and wondering if they're the next Ajax.
  6. I turn on two hours worth of double XP on a new character and then forget about it and play the game normally. It's not exactly a big deal to just not use them.
  7. Currently the Black Knight shoulders will hover above the arms of your character. This is because in order to 'attach' them you need to use the Black Knight 3 or Black Knight 4 chest detail to get the straps on the arms that go with the shoulder pads. Please add a 'Black Knight (straps)' option in the shoulders that includes those arm straps so any character can properly use them without them floating.
  8. You slot them directly into yourself. Showering does nothing.
  9. The "I don't want to think about this" solution to cash in Homecoming is to spend every last one of your Merits on enhancement converters and list them on the Auction House for 1 inf. They will sell immediately. Most efficient? No. Pile of money with zero thought or effort? Yes. Doing so also makes the people who spend their time meticulously crafting recipes and converting them into more valuable rare enhancements very happy. You will then be buying those enhancements later, so the happier those people are, the more they poop rare enhancements into the market for us to buy with lower prices.
  10. Stalkers have a lot less Endurance problems in general while leveling up, thanks to AS simply deleting an enemy mob every time you click it, and a less full-on manner of play using Hide.
  11. All my toons are full cheesecake women, but I have the decency to play solo. Nonetheless, many of the costumes I see somehow manage to be worse than just not bothering. Zero sense of color, let alone color co-ordination, and highly mismatched pieces to make a conceptual mess. When a costume is worse than me just throwing a woman barefoot into a white Lebeaux leotard with a fancy haircut to float around kicking guys to death, I just don't even know what people are doing anymore. There's snobbishness, and then there's just like....actual WTF are you doing. Please just use the 90% matched pieces costume. Please. I forgive you for looking bad with the animal heads though. They all suck, there's no way to fix them. If you wanna be some kind of minotaur or lionman or something, you're just doomed from the start and I understand that.
  12. Yeah I don't use procs very much. Dual Pistols is garbage. It's terrible. The animations themselves are fine, but there's choppy pauses when they start and finish between them, and the damage sucks ass. As soon as the explanation for why a power or powerset is good starts saying 'proc potential' I walk straight out the door, because it's code for 'this thing is garbage but I can drop a dumptruck of inf and time I completely take for granted on it to do unintended things with it', and I know it'll never be fixed because the Old Timer Minmax Mafia will make a load of noise. Just like Rage in Super Strength.
  13. The Rikti War Zone is a war zone, and Vanguard are an international Rikti combat force. My zone would be a lot lower level, a lot more 'safe', and would be a window into the fact that the United States is absolutely still A Thing, Paragon City is in it, and the Rogue Isles is actually a sovereign nation itself. It would also show that all of this is not normal. Paragon City and the world are not normally a hellscape of endless violence and banditry. Our heroes are stepping up and taking the brunt of trying to protect the world while it tries to stand back up. EDIT: I'd probably also have a LOT of overlap between the PPD and the US Military that's being rebuilt, to also show that the PPD is basically militarized having to fight a damn war against hordes of villain factions.
  14. I'd add the Military Zone, dominated by a US military base where they're setting up for a major military operation to help get Paragon City more under control with a period of martial law, and start open peacekeeping operations against the Rogue Isles. It would have a lot of safer open areas because the area is covered by....uh.....a fully mechanized military force with tanks and artillery, and instead the 'street sweeping' opportunities would be a little more hidden where Arachnos is trying to disrupt the staging area by messing with supplies and esoteric warfare. There might be some fringe areas where courageous gangers are trying to lift unattended supplies or anything else they can find. Maybe Mooks doing some back alley deals with corrupt soldiers and the like. I'd add interactions in there people can see between the military and 'hero' organizations, where Longbow is getting rebuffed by the military for literally being a private vigilante army for example, while there's much more respected Vanguard attaches present to observe. Stuff like that. I like the idea of presenting a view of how the 'outside world' looks at the absolute chaos of Paragon City and the Rogue Isles. PC isn't a city state that stands alone, it's a city in the United States, and they're not actually taking everything laying down. This is just a period of chaos after an ALMOST apocalypse of the Rikti War.
  15. These were amazing and you should rethink your life.
  16. It's an almost-dead MMO for which almost all the content can be played solo. I don't care and it doesn't matter if the hobbyists who make new arcs like to play with people. I got enough to do.
  17. Logged back in to tell everyone that you should always, always, always go Redside if you're playing normally from level 1. The story arcs are much more consistently updated to award even small numbers of Merits, which can be turned into Inf by selling enhancement converters. They also tend to be shorter and easier to get through. On Redside you'll get way more Merits, and way less (not none) horrific mission and arc structures than the landfill from the Dawn Of Time on blueside. As far as early to mid gameplay progression goes, Redside is superior to a frankly unreasonable degree, and after then you would probably have tip mission'ed your way to whatever alignment you'd prefer anyway (or had a meeting with Null). And I've seen your costumes and names. You don't care about story that much.
  18. Yeah....no. Longbow alone are able to make advances into the Rogue Isles, with one quest chain where they're mind controlling villains even resulting in an all-out battle mission built more for spectacle than actual gameplay as you fight their army. The resource difference between Arachnos and actual large nation states, let alone an organisation like NATO that eould turn its baleful gaze towards them if it had any time to recover, is beyond absurd. 'Conventional military' wielded by these nations ended up looking like Vanguard. The Paragon Police Department is terrifying. Private paramilitaries, Longbow, Wyvern, Legacy Chain, all constitute huge threats to Arachnos. The Rogue Isles thrives only because of the chaotic, overbearingly threatening time in which CoX takes places. It's what a bandit kingdom looks like in a messed up superhero setting, and constantly looks for crazy superweapon ways to rule the world because it categorically cannot take on the world any other way.
  19. The Rikti War was global, and would have gone worse for everyone outside of Paragon City where damn near all the heroes are. Human conventional military forces seem to have been almost useless against the Rikti. The entire setting is barely more than post-apocalyptic, and is still being held together by spit and string as Earth is being pounded just endlessly by superpowered threats all over. Fast forward a couple decades to actually recover, and an utterly unstoppable conventional military invasion of the Rogue Isles is straight up inevitable.
  20. I stick another mob between me and my actual target to try and ensure I get at least two hits, then forget about it.
  21. .....nothing. The game isn't even supposed to be running at all. The only reason it is, is because the lazy, uncaring suits filled with shit who closed it in the first place because it wasn't a perpetually growing exemplar of capitalist greed, also don't care enough to do much about us sitting here playing it. You're not playing an independent functioning game, you're having lunch with a prisoner who just walks straight out a hole in the fence every day and the guards can't be bothered to deal with it because he comes back every time.
  22. Powergaming assholes choose backstories and craft characters to facilitate being a powergaming asshole. Am asshole, will asshole. ..... that's all there is to it.
  23. I think I/O set bonuses shouldn't provide direct percentage RES and DEF like they do. They should provide a percentage increase to your existing RES and DEF as if they're an enhancement bonus that isn't affected by ED. You need to actually have RES or DEF from another source like your primary, secondary, or pool powers to improve. The only exceptions would be the super special uniques like in Steadfast Protection that give a flat bonus.
  24. Yeah I pretty much only remember to use greens, and will start potting like it's Diablo 2.
  25. An energy blaster is maximum glass cannon. Because the mean words people have for you are more damaging than any mob or AV, and you must endure. Without KB -> KD I/O's. Without muting the team chat. Volunteering for every team that's formed.
