Good God, I went to that forum and it's basically just her since 2018. It's like watching a crazy person interacting with themselves in a rubber room. I never really had too much of a problem with GG, her mild lunacy tended to just be amusing on the live forums, but......wow.

PUGs have always been garbage. Literally always. There was absolutely never a time when people weren't complaining about them.

Tankers have become my new favourite AT, and we don't even have the damage changes yet. It's all because of SD\ and SR\ I never played with defence sets on live because they seemed to do sod all at lower levels and I utterly despise click mez protection. But on Tankers? At level 22 with only basic IO stuff, my SD\ has 30% to all positions with only three slots added to each of the two toggles! It's disgusting! The SR\ is 40% to melee and like....30-35 on the other two! The shield is definitely better though. The SR is sure to be total overkill on defense, while shield comes with a pile of other really, really good stuff.

It's basically Updated Claws. Very fast, very satisfying. If you've got a good concept for it, I would wholeheartedly recommend it. I don't think it gets much conversation because it's a little conceptually restrictive, thanks to the forums people start foaming at the mouth when they see lethal damage, and ultimately it isn't exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. And that's what people like to talk about; debating the best single percentile or second difference between OP builds and declaring the greatest of all time, or bitching about how garbage something is. Savage just *works* so no-one talks about it.

If it's only PBAoE, then a quick look at the sets shows that the winners are pretty much going to be the handful that have two instead of one. Fiery Melee will go from 'best Aoe' to 'best AoE' since it has Combustion and Fire Sword Circle. Two PBAoE attacks that can be a regular, often used part of their attack chain just get better. Savage Melee, surprisingly. Savage Leap is a PBAoE teleport attack; if that's effected it'll go well with Rending Flurry for shredding crowds. The other sets all use cones and shit for their AoE, and pretty universally have a single PBAoE attack. Notably, Titan Weapons won't really give a crap, because it's all cones.

I think I went in there on Live simply BECAUSE I had never been in there. It's basically contentless. Nothing happens there. It's just a packed street sweep zone with the merest handful of missions sending you in it. Honestly, it's a perfect blank slate for any new development because there's nothing to get in the way of new content.

Removing that purple cave map set and replacing every use of them with the wide caves instead would have been worth an entire $15 DLC.

Because UP increases defense, which is way more useful and abuseable in reaching meaningful defensive softcaps. While the mez protection may be useful for some squishies, the simple fact of the matter is that UP is just a way better power because resistance is nowhere near as good as defense, and extra recovery and regen layering on it takes a giant, steaming dump all over some mez protection in terms of usefulness for most ATs.

Vahzilok in the 1-10 range. Disgustingly overpowered. Some idiot was all, "So lets make their attacks do way more damage, and apply a DoT, and be unresistable. Oh, oh! Then give the lieutenants a massive recharge debuff!" If you don't think they're OP as shit, make a Necro Mastermind. At level 6 the zombies are literally just a copy/paste of Vahzilok zombies, and they absolutely obliterate everything you look at at that point in the game.

If you want to play /regen, it might as well be on a Brute which gets better results due to higher HP. Plus you get absolutely tons of spare endurance so you can just go nuts on that I guess. People forget that /regen doesn't just have Quick Recovery....it has only one toggle. There's so freaking much endurance to waste on other crap. ....which you need, because otherwise /regen kinda sucks butts.

I'm still only a couple months in so I'm still constantly getting to level 25 max before I make yet another alt. I was street sweeping Atlas until 6, then moving into Kings Row to do Radios and story missions. I move on to Steel and street sweep there until I can do the Faultline contacts. Now I AE power to 12 and go straight to Steel. When I finally get a character further on, I'll go to Croatoa like I used to on Live, and do that storyline. I did the Hollows storyline a couple times for nostalgia, but after that I never had a reason to go there. Never go to Skyway instead of Steel; it's a terrible layout, and I still prefer the zone with the AH and university in it because on Live we couldn't just /ah anywhere.

City of Heroes has entirely unique mind scanning technology that governments all over the world have been unsuccessfully trying to crack ever since it appeared in the game. Apparently, upon developing this magical wondertech, the City of Heroes devs used it to have the game scan a player's mind when they made a new character, and if the player wanted to eventually do radio missions on that character, they would be given the detective inside the building. If they didn't really care, they get the detective outside. The game will rescan the player each time they enter a new zone with that character, to make sure that if they change their mind during leveling, they still get screwed.

They're obsessed with brawling, especially to their own detriment. If you think they're female, you're wrong. Sorry.

Katana should be fine. It has fairly rapid attacks that make for good consistency with its damage, and has the crown jewel of Divine Avalanche making you practically unhittable in melee all on its own. There's pretty much nothing that says 'consistent' more than the stacking defence of Divine Avalanche and regeneration of Willpower making you an OP degree of unkillable in a lot of situations from a relatively ridiculously low level, so you can just relentlessly slice everything to pieces.

I have literally never seen someone's questions be ignored on a Help chat that's filled with socialization. Quite the opposite. People socializing on Help chat are actually paying attention to it, and respond when people say things in it - because they're socializing and in the mood to talk, they jump all over questions and help requests almost immediately. Coupled with the complaining about 'PL beggars', I pretty much just....don't like you. People should be using channels only for what they're tagged as! Unless you're asking to join a kind of group I don't approve of in the looking for group chat, then you can't use it to look for groups! Yeah, whatever.

Earth/Fire looks very interesting, it's at least some sort of thematic. I guess the pet being your own personal tank is a lot more useful than most other options.

I think I'd like to try a Dominator. Have a real good go at it, hold some peeps, laugh as they suffer and die, the usual. This thread doesn't have to get overly mathematical because....uh....I'm 35 and I don't care anymore. I teach English. Screw numbers. I just want people to give me some of their opinions on the various choices available to a Dominator. The caveat is that firstly, I play solo. I work and live in China, my internet is basically "50 mb/s for practically zero cost per month until you route to anything out of China and have to wait five minutes to submit a reply to a kid on the Homecoming forum that you had his mom and she was crap". So I am FOREVER ALONE. The second is that I don't have an inf farmer and can't be arsed with all of that at least for now. Not that I'd really have enough time in the day when my internet works well enough to even get that done. So perma-Dom? That ain't happening. We're gonna be lucky if I start throwing together some Frankenslotting for this thing. This is full hobo-Dom. The third thing....obviously I'm gonna be doing 'regular play' with it all the way through. I could PL it up to maybe 18 in an AE farm before I get bored and just go make a new Brute woman with white skin and white bikini bottoms so it all blends in and looks like she's naked. Hehehe. Uh....that's a joke. Haha! We're all friends here! On the plus side, however, I also cannot be arsed with constantly pushing the notoriety envelope as hard as I can until I'm facerolling x4/x8 and consider anything less to be not worth it.
