  1. To work with the brute, Radiation debuff or Kinetic buffs would increase the efficiency of the brute. For a separate farmer to do something else, the blaster would be fun.
  2. Problem is, the hold is single target...and its the only other control power besides Flash, Decieve, and Terror. No ST immobilize, 1 ranged attack, 2 stealth/def buffs, and a confuse, kinda lack luster for setting up containment. Only picked blind because it sounds like an AoE, kinda like a Flashbang going off. Could change Blind to an AoE immobilize with sleep component and Deceive into a hold "as the target is held captive in their mind" cause a ST confuse is kinda useless if a target gets hit by Spectral Terror.
  3. I number crunch on an AT Power/Secondary first before I roll it, to see if I like what it can provide and what I can build for. Have an Illusion/Dark Affentiy controller that is almost perma PA, uses attune, and almost max def so it would be a good +30 TF/SF runner, no incarnate on the build in Mids. Only thing I am disappointed with it is the lack of solid control for AoE: Flash AoE hold recharge is just way to long, Two stealth of which Group is very lacking in utility, and Blind should of been an AoE Immoblize with sleep component (pseudo hold, stuff don't move and can't fight back until they take damage) so Containment worked better with the hard lock effect of Immobilize. Otherwise, with Spectral Terror I lock things down well but the lack of containment makes the combo kinda "meh" except for /Dark which is great for any primary. Fire Farm comment, boring if you are not interested in that
  4. Controllers have 2 jobs, control and a support set Dominators have 2 jobs, control and DPS. Group wise, controllers are stronger with the buffs and debuffs...why hold an AV to beat it down when you can still beat it down with debuffs and debuffs? Sure, triangles exist...but once they are down that HP bar grinds down fast in a group. Dominators don't bring much more than a controller, DPS is spread out among the group and a dominator is just better at holding things while the rest of the group blitzes the AV down with controller buffs/debuffs.
  5. As challenge, ran Briggs 125 killing all even stragglers. Messed up timing hitting the button so 3 out of 5 was 3:45 3:52, and 4:32 last one because I was distracted. Ran a full round again after looking at Farm Fresh builds, they list just over 20-23 mins average for Briggs 5 missions. 26:49 Missed about half a map worth across all 5, they were so spread out. Couldn't keep damage cap, going in with a pocket full of reds kinda messed up the macro conversion and always sat low. Insight always triggered ON Mass levitate, so no bonus damage there. And in a rush, so fumbling keys and missing rotations while Incarnates (1 at 4, rest at 3, no pet or judgement yet as am I lazy) were up but forgetting to hit them. Probably get 29-30 mins on a good day. So, its not that much slower. Sometimes it about showing up late to the party to make a big impression; using a non-FoTM flavored build 🤣
  6. Not always about speed, but about style. Red inspiration conversion macro to get to damage cap (better with a kinetic anyway), you don't rage and seen a few without Rage among the few people who SS. And its not that much slower, its not like if you were farming with Martial Arts 😝 I challenge you to AE #17699, 5 mission long farm....lots and lots and lots *Spongebob 1 eternity later* lots of bosses, EBs, and hostages turned EB . Bring a couple of brute friends, a rad and a kinetic 😉. Started with 5 farm brutes, 3 lowbies to PL; 1 brute had to go second mission, 1 left on mission 3, and we changed level on 4th to +1 and 5th to -1. 3 hours of people cursing at me for suggesting it, but 1 lowbie got to level 43 from level 1.
  7. 1. Radioactive Smash - Crushing impact, +5 recharge 2. Fire Shield - Steadfast KB protection isn't needed in farms unless you are using a wacky one 3. Fusion - up to you, I have been 6 slot it for a 1.5% fire def, but mostly for BU proc. With enough recharge, can get it to 20 seconds 4. Temperature protection - Pop Steadfast and Gladiators in their, save one slot. Make up the difference else where. Psi Resist proc isn't helping at all 5. Plasma Shield - Gladiator recharge isn't helping you. pop the Steadfast/Gladiator in Temperature protection, you can 5 slot Aegis if you want for +1.56 Fire def 6. Irradiate - Slot damage procs and Achillies/Gladiator Fury -resist 7. Consume - 6 Mocking Bereavement, +3% fire def and +8 recharge.. 9. Weave - Over slotted with the Kismet def/end. Use LotG Def/End, Def, and Def/+7.5 10. Maneuvers - Same as weave, use the 1st, 5th, and 6th LoTG. The endurance drain is minimal 11. Devastating Blow - Should have a couple of extra slots, like the Kismet removed in Weave. 5 slot crushing impact 12. Burn - 5 slot Sirocco, +1.56 fire def. I like to put the Fury of Gladiator -resist in the 6th slot. 13. Combat Jumping - Over slotted, really only need Def/+7.5 and maybe the pure Def. Endurance is low to begin with 14. Fiery Embrace - 2 slot Recharge, not endurance reduc. 15. Superior Conditioning - Performance Shifter +End Proc / End Mod 16. Psychical Perfection - Performance Shifter +End Proc 17. Health - 3 slot with Numaria, Pancrea, and Miracle. Or 2 slot, or even Just +Pancrea, once fully built only need the base and can move the slots elsewhere. 18. Stamina - Performance Shifter +End / Endurance 19. Only +5 boost the IO recharge in hasten, fiery embrace, and the LoTG to get a little more bang for your buck. Here is a tweaked version, no purples/ATO/winter. Maybe an 100ish million build, bit more recharge and same defense. Moving stuff around, got enough slots to fill Radiation Siphon to an attack, its not a great heal and at 35% defense (about the same as your build) you are not going to be running +4 without taking a beating and just grinding slow. +2 would be a good place to speed through more farms or +3 for a challenge which isn't to much of a difference than +4; can speed through an extra farm 4 farms instead of 3 and make up the difference with a greater chance of random drops. Add damage procs to devastating blow / Radiation Siphon, but when building cheap just go for +rech and +def; if you are trying to min/max when you are minimal slotted you are stretching yourself out to damage when you need defense/recharge to complete it fast until you are fully kitted out. Believe me, my first build was a similar Rad/Fire and ended up short defense at a cost of 300m...it was a struggle to break 1 billion and I gave up as it was just so boring with lack of recharge and short on defense. Went SS/Fire, awesome until rage crashes so after a month I stripped it. Rolled 2 Spines/Fire, got bored...Psi/Fire/Fire brute I fell in love with using a similar style from a SS/Fire, as the Psi melee is more about Style than efficiency I want to spec it to Psi/Fire/Soul for kicks. Been so bored lately, Mids theory designed Brutes as Radiation Melee - Ninjitsu, Ice (Smashing/Lethal def, would work in normal content,) and a Rad/Elec Scrapper (actually built) which works okay but lack of taunt in the damage auras causes stuff to scatter. Psi/Fire scrapper to copy my brute main, even a Water/Fire/Psi or Water/Fire/Fire Sentinel (like 5 AoE) sitting at 50 if I can just get around to slotting it. cheap broot - Brute (Radiation Melee).mxd
  8. Psi melee, brain power over muscle power. Mass Levitate is basically foot stomp with about a half second longer animation and BU instead of Rage.
  9. Naw man, its not how those features apply. Its how the Devs went about implementing it. It took a long time and the effect was drastic, felt like paying to beta test CoH for Issue 4 and beyond that time frame. As for PVP, I wasn't clear. It felt like the product was unfinished when first release, like playing PVE and targeting players. Took a lot of tweaks just to make it presentable, like the Blaster unresisted damage. I will put it another way, PVP in COH/V felt like it was subpar at its release and PVE mechanics changed to allow players as a target and damage them. It was like building a house with out a foundation on sand, than driving piles through the house to stablize it and build up from there. Other PVP games generally had a foundation, first floor, and a second floor at release but able to expand from there while as COH/V was building really slow on a shake foundation. Devs kept building, but there wasn't a very good blueprint to begin with.
  10. Didn't know the arenas were before the zones, never heard much much noise about them and never looked at the buildings, cause 90%of the buildings are the same buildings in every zone. How many Sherazades do you need with in 5 minutes of each other, vs all the liquor stores and fast food joints (even villians gotta eat) Ah, Issue 4 release. When they finally released the complete game after "beta testing" 4 issues when they went to target caps and Erectile Dysfunction Enhancement Diversification. Who would of noticed that among the massive "balance tweaks". Would of thought before they released the zones they would of brain stormed through most rules of PVP before releasing them, like blaster damage vs 90% resist cap. I remember that was sometime after PVP release; not a long time but pretty obvious glasscannon punching steel jaw kinda one sided. Stuff like that sticks out to me, revamp something for balance when its pretty obvious from the start.
  11. try map #17699 (I think thats the number not at home). Guy who made this map was insane and hates people. Can get to 50 easy in a series of 1 asteroid, 1 steel canyon, boomtown, and graveyard. Its demon theme and fire damage base, gonna be longer than your lowest time. There is a secret trick though 🤫 Gonna need couple of brutes, blaster or corrupter, kinetics, radiation, or trick arrow debuffs. Like lots of -resist needed and the procs are not gonna help that much as a support set. Brutes running off in different directions is less effective than 2 or 3 together pilling up NPC for the debuffs. Fact: 5 brutes, 1 level 1 brute who made it to 43, and 3 more door sitters before someone swapped to a blaster after 2 brutes had to leave. At +4/8 we got through 3 maps before +2 and -1 on the last one, and it was like 3 hours of bitching and yelling at me suggesting it. But we finished.
  12. PVP release was based around PVE powers when it first came out, then things like Blaster unresisted damage, travel suppression (lol like it was that abusive in PVE) or toggle dropping implemented for balance "reasons". They had to balance after the fact, instead some kind of idea before it was released; most PVP games have an objective of how they are going to implement competition from the beginning instead of the half ass attempt of "here is PVP zones, one is sub 25 with target bounties, 2nd with hero vs villian PVP, and last is freebies regardless of which side of the game you played".
  13. This guys avatar. Who needs the subtlety of an assassin strike, when you can just punch them in the face; repeatedly.
  14. A little Birdy told me something something Dark Side something yada yada something Head towards the light! yada yada something something blah double agent; for any day of the week and mood your in.
  15. GM Sidekick
  16. Rikiti invasion Arachnos Flyer Hamidon raid Fire in Steel Canyon Its always a Nemesis plot. It not a Nemesis plot.
  17. Effectively its weak to Toxic and negative as its lower, six slot purples grant 6% resist Psi/Toxic (and the early 6% Fire/Cold in winter) so Electric amor has a pretty good round of resists regardless, except for Negative (like 1/3 as of the others) which doesn't seem to be a high number in IO bonus.
  18. Electric armor. Built in +recharge, easy to fix the knock back weakness with IO, low recharge Heal/Endurance Reduction/Regenin a single power, endurance drain(not required really), and a resistance spread about as good as dark armor; protects against Psi (can cap with 6th slot purple if a scrapper, decentlevelfor a brute) but weak to Neg energy.
  19. Because when you hit level 2 in all of 5 minutes you now can access that power. And at 4 you now have 3. So on and so on. On the flipside a tank with 2 defense powers is not getting use out of them as you can solo the first 5 levels with only sprint running.
  20. You don't need to share salvage. you will get far more salvage then you will ever need and will spend more time organizing it and pulling from storage. Get the portable bench from P2W, build the recipes as they drop and put in a SG table, done. 3-6 pieces consumed, sell or destroy left overs rinse repeat. No, it is not time consuming because you will be selling SO and can wait until 70 slots are full of IO. Its time management not inventory management. And suddenly everyone storing salvage will kill the AH. Why buy, when you can squirrel away and make your own?
  21. That is supposed to open the content. As for blue, its because...gasp people congregrate. Can't fault them, just make friends and roll the stories without expecting random Joe Schmoe and Jane Plain to be looking for groups red side as you stand there for hours; because no one wants to run red side. Just bring people instead of expecting them to show up.
  22. Exactly, except for 1 person skipping to 30 there are 10 others pouring out more INF into the economy and PL another 5 (if not 70 more and loosing some IF) at the same time in 30 minutes. It wouldn't even make a dent unless the sink was a billion straight to 50, than a Vet level for 100 million up tp 20.
  23. 30 mins in AE will easily get you to 30 with a single hour used 2XP purchase. And as a sink, it would have to be a significant cost to make a dent but too much INF is pumped out it wouldn't even be noticeable.
  24. Ah, I got tired of spines/fire...got 2 of them collecting dust. Just boring, tried SS/Fire and the rage crash was annoying and didn't care for a crappy build for Rad/fire I tried. Psi/fire and was ripping up stuff I got to 100 vet levels in 2 weeks where as the other 4 didn't make it up to 30 vet levels. For mace, I will say its satisfying smashing things with a wrench. Fire, I don't see it as useful when running content as Burn is kinda useless unless you are solo. Stuff dies to fast from your group.
  25. Farmer build ? I use psi/fire, its pretty solid and just a SS/fire clone I know I didn't screw this one up like the other one I posed lol
