Hasten: Make it Inherent, or get rid of it?
Outrider_01 replied to Abysmalyxia's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Late response. Shocking, an optional power you don't need to take but the game is "balanced" around it? It never was balanced around having hasten. It being in a power pool....means you don't need it unless you want it. Hasten only picked up often, because the value/utility of Hasten > Flurry/Jumpkick/Whirlwhind; combined. What am I saying? Its desirable because of what it can do vs powers you rarely see, because its really useful. Flurry and the rest vs hasten, even you got to know those powers are less than useless in utility except for character flavor. -
It's time to recognize Domination is bad.

I want to apologize if I come off as an ass, character flaw of mine. After thinking about it, we can all be touchy about subjects. Sorry about that. Just want to put forth something else, high recharged though not a requirement for a Dominator is a great benefit. To be able to influence Domination to such a degree with that recharge, no other AT can influence their inherent like that. Defense builds, benefit every AT yet don't impact the inherent. Perma Domination like it is very powerful, is a positive that could be taken away. -

Did you have fun thinking up something that you thought was a problem? Some might not care if they are 30 seconds behind Perma. Next, again the point is. Its all in the head. You don't need to build for perma domination. Is Perma Dom more effective? That is what we would agree on, so yes. But it isn't required, you can play how you want. If someone wants to be less strong, thats up to them....so long as they are enjoying it. And if they are not, they can always find another way. All I am saying, you think that Perma Domination is required. It isn't, that is up to the player on how they build (as in, do they want full efficiency or not). You can build how you want, doesn't mean you are weaker if you do it by choice. Some players will be stronger, but if you are playing in Perma for the challenge or just love the AT while screwing up your build; its just how you enjoy it. If you think the mechanic can change, try to leave your opinion out of it. It can be changed, but I feel like you are trying to force your opinion that the difference of "1 second" is the end of the world. You can build it to have a 30 second gap, but who cares if you are not performing on the same level if you just enjoy a Dominator. FoTM month awesome isn't required to be strong, its just how you play and enjoy it. -

They are, at selection. Itsn't required, thats a choice. Any AT does that, but it isn't required. Yeah, like you are. Again, no one has to build around it. It isn't a requirement, its a choice. Of course you would, you start off with a lot. Uh, lets see. Player choice, player's playstyle. Thats theirs, yours is yours. There is no way you are being punished by an AT (which makes no sense what so ever), if you want Permadon or not. It is yours, by your effort to achieve a build. You give up for one thing, you get what you want while lacking something else. You don't want it? Don't build for it? How is that a problem exactly, that is player choice. Not your assumption opinion of a secondary benefit of IO set bonuses, powers/inherents are designed without them in mind. Its the player who figures out how to achieve the impossible Annnnnnd your suggestion will impact someone else, who would shut it down. Permadon? Whats this..... Oh, my bad. Built a theoritcal Mids builds that made Dark/Ice have 41%-ish soft cap across the bored; less Psi/Toxic. 8/9 Primary, 4 secondary with your standand FOTM power pools for defense. Stack a P2W 5% buff, I got SR like defense (sorta). Domination is 64 second recharge, with Incarnate. I have no idea if thats Perma, probably not but it will be back up fast and I gave up the option for defense. That was my choice, no I am not punishing myself because I went a different route. Also gonna redo this build one day, see if defense is achieveable in a different way and get PermaDom. Did you look at the data you are pushing? Seems biased, as you are assuming Perma Domination is forced a point of view. That point of view is popular, doesn't mean its the only one. Its up to the player. Farm Brutes; many different build picks of primary/secondary yet not everyone picks Spines/Fire or Rad/Fire.... no different than building for Perma Domination, it is player choice. Is it a FoTM and popular build type that is vastly superior? That is up to the person building it. Perma Domination or Not, you come off as if its "Broken" some players can achieve it while others cannot? Are they trying or are you assuming that Perma Dom is the only way? If you find its a problem because people can't achieve it, why not just nerf the f*ck out of it using the Issue 4 method.........5 minute recharge, 60 sec duration, unenhancable recharge from global effects. Done, now its a burst for the moment power. Now you use your noggin on when to apply it instead of it being running 24/7 with a quick jump start, you can't achieve something and feel left out when everyone gets left out. I am not exactly against the idea, I just think your premise is one sided. Not everyone sees it the same way, feels the need to build a specific way, and it is your choice on how you build. Not up to the same performance? Who cares, its all in the head. -
Dark/Moody/Fearsome Trying to make a build, but Batman hasn't called back to give me some suggestions.

I was looking at something in Mids and glancing in the AH, might be confusing something but it said unique. That is a player assumption, not a a powerset underperformance issue. IOs didn't exist back when Sonic was released. How would you build something without set bonus? Standard 3 IO max per attrbutes SO. Your comment should be "lack of IO options" which you are trying to put forth. Ice is the same as Fire or Sonic if you think about it, but nobody is gonna slot slow since it blast powers (damage aspect) unless you are weired. -Resit cannot be enhanced, so you basically have a +ACC/EndReduc/Rech set. You can use plain IO with out the set bonus. You are better off rethinking your builds or power combos. Not every set is gonna perform the same and lacking slotting options isn't a good basis for requesting a new set line. If you can't get all of one thing, try adding another you didn't think of before. Sometimes outside the box builds can be more satisfying, won't perform to exceptional standards but will now excel in in a couple. They released new sets in existing ones, not a new classification of set. There is no set for intangible powers, yet SO enhancements say increase duration last I checked. More range or universal, EZPZ. Can they make a new line from scratch? We don't know. But Intangible would be next to -Resit. Personally I want to see intangible be a damage hold with a short duration untouchable, kinda like fire ball but not that level of damage. Requesting diversity and expansions on current range sets (as well as the rest), why not? Much easier. 3 or 4 IO sets don't compare to sets with 6 bonuses.
-
You should look at it as a whole -Resist with +Defiance Damage, your plain damage is getting better. That is exactly what range sets do, they enhance that aspect of the power which is range. On the flip side, do you know anybody crazy enough to slot Ice blasts with -slow powersets? Ice bolt...hmm, you could slot a "Reverse Time Machine" set (think of the Flash turning into a statue) with -rech and a smashing proc from the slow sets or go full blown InsertAnyRange set. Achilles is unique, it means you can slot it once in any attack. Annihilation can go in any target AoE, cones or PBoA range (fireball). Those are not exactly secondary for the entire powerset, they are for the power type which is not a secondary effect. So you are looking at maybe 5 max such as Assault Rifle. Buckshot/M30/Flamethrower/Ignite/Full Auto, but with how it all animates I don't see a problem. And not all power sets are gonna 5 slot random proc in every power. If you need more +Random set bonus, look at what your secondary can give you. People need to realize, not all Powersets are homogenized across every power set for procs IOs. Suddenly ThisRandomPower can slot 5 procs, now everybody is going to want to slot in any powerset.

Ask them to step out of the mission, they are responsible for themselves; you are not responsible for them. They go AFK, they should understand that you can't wait for them to come back to the keyboard but are willing to keep them in the team as long as they don't keep the rest of the team tied up waiting for as they are left in the mission.
-
There are 2 sets for melee, on the 3rd slot bonus is 2% and you can slot 3x3 in each attack to get 4%.

Just use a Spines/Fire for farmer and roll something else for your "main" content. I just did my Firse Spine/Fire without Incarnate yet, tore through a test farm with no problem. Was expensive, but looking at a cheaper alt account character build to drag behind the main and double the damage to speed through a couple more maps a day. Alternative is Bio, easy to cap out all Defense types less Psi/Toxic but leaves damage lacking. Also huge burst regen on this build I made, but its mids paper theory.. Bio gives a lot of easy options to max Defense types.

Boku's "El Cheapo" (a-farm-build-for-the-masses)
Outrider_01 replied to Krazie Ivan's topic in Brute
You don't need Mu sets, I just rolled my first Spines after Super Strength. I can't even fit Fence or Ball into the attack rotation, primary attacks and burn recharge so fast or the auras ticking off. Just something to consider, will being looking at something else when I get around to respecing out of Mu. -
Assault Rifle/Device was my main back on live, he went commando.

112 million is nothing after awhile, I spent just over a billion on an AE farmer a couple of days ago. Spines/Fire brute, if you want to start making influence easy way or manipulatethe Auction House the other way. Wish I had started a Spines a long time a go, Super Strength doesn't compare especially as this Spines doesn't even have Incarnate powers yet.

Defence? Positional vs environmental
Outrider_01 replied to DemonWithin's topic in General Discussion
Wish that was more clear to me, have a ton of mids builds that are *ahem* soft capped 45% all but Psi/Toxic. Guess they are just like Neo from the Matrix, but shots and strikes would miss without moving. -

Outrider_01 replied to Krazie Ivan's topic in Brute
To many slots in defense toggles doing nothing but making them recharge faster and reducing the endurance toggle by .11 endurance combined. It is dirt cheap, but you can drop 2 slots in both weave/manuevers with spending inf for the +3 defense resist Steadfast/Gladiators you can easily tweak around the 4 slots you don't need from the Red fortune giving you 2 slots to move to resist toggles (you loose 10% recharge though) and probably come out ahead with 2 freebie + a couple more tweaking it again. Not a huge more expensive, you could probably invest a 100m or less easily to improve it. -
No, this is not photo shopped. +4/+8 with the character at level 1. At level 6, with 5s towards the back of the map in Coyote's mission to rescue Flower Knight. Its also a lot of goons at +8 group size. I also didn't mean outside the mission, I am never clear on what I am saying a lot of Isolated badge also count from the ones in the mission, best off finishing the mission then running to the hazard area to finish it off at level 2 for that extra little bit of damage. Brutes also excel at it, Rage increases damage for the Origin powers so you can 1 shot them and use you single attack to get the second. Do tell, we just love gossip

I must be crazy than, but their level can change. Can post screen shots tomorrow when I get home or you can try upping settings to confirm my sanity. I know their level can be shifted, maybe not their strength level.

Make alternative IO sets to Luck of the Gambler
Outrider_01 replied to nyttyn's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
What is just the recharge inside of the 120 duration? #?/120, number crunching isn't my thing. Can just reduce Hasten to 35%? Free IO basically. Move the +7.5% LoTG to the third bonus, instead of a single IO? Kill all builds except Defense power sets. More so like all 5 slot bonus in may sets. Make it +7.5% LoTG. IO unique? To powerful when it stacks, that one Dev was high when it slipped by. Maybe remove that Def/+7.5% to just 7.5% enhancementby itself? Now you are giving up some Defense in exchange for plain recharge, just as much as Kismet has a +Acc by itself. Need another Def enhancement to max out Maneuvers/Weave benefit or another deeply slotted 6 slot bonus to FoTM build. When you get it down to to 120ish recharge 120 duration, its perma in a way that it is back up before it's done ( or three is a mechanicI don'tknow abou). +recharge proc helps when it goes off in knock down powers. This includes Incarnate, not sure if just normal powers is possible. Also want to mention, highest I got in builds is 240%, don't think I can get it higher without compromises the entire build. All my builds are paper Mids theory, but +Def 6 out of 7 type (mostly Energy Aura or lots of Winter sets any AT fits) fits my thoughts more then recharge. If you need max recharge, you got to give something up. I am all for a revamp of IO bonuses, but too much bonus in a single plain Enhancement would not be the way. 2.5 recharge at slot 5 or .63 type Defense is useless in most cases, more rounded out slightly higher would be nice. -
Roll a new toon, trek through Outbreak to Coyote, and then set it to +4/8 . Level 6 contaminated moshpit of goons in a tiny map when you enter that door, have fun.

See patch notes last week. You can't exemp a 50 to 49 in the AR, they fixed it. Unless there is something new.

An option to reduce visual clutter
Outrider_01 replied to ShardWarrior's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I would prefer an option baked into the UI, not Null the "Omnipotent guess he can do everything" Gull. OMG do I hate some auras and want to turn it off.
