  1. Well, that's the first time I remember someone turning a night widow into a ranged toon before. How does your attack chain go? How does it generally feel running through content with this build? I ask because I've never tried to play a NW like that before.
  2. I always felt that my night widow, after growing up in the slums around Port Recluse on Sharkhead Isle, bought a condo near the casinos in St. Martial. While doing Praetorian missions, base of operations is in Four Gables, Imperial City. Blueside, home is a penthouse overlooking Founder's Falls' Venetian area.
  3. I thought I had kept my character around for the group shot on my shard but I didn't see it in the pic. Oh well, I managed to be randomly gifted a high level enhancement when my hobo character hit his "will work for inf" battle cry as a GM passed by... Wasn't sure what to expect from this contest but dang if people didn't bring some really fun costumes to view.
  4. I've been running an elec/shield stalker in Incarnate material a bit lately (first 50 other than a night widow I've tried it with) and I gotta say that dropping AOE openers into mobs has been quite fun. Hit them with Ion Judgment and Lightning Rod, maybe follow up with Shield Charge before attacking the rest? Makes me happy...
  5. I've been working on a Fort build as well after reading so much about them (mostly a NW player here) and I'm in the same boat as you are I believe. I'm working on a build with Rune of Protection as well (mostly for bigger fights) but I think the defensive numbers I've gotten (which are much like yours) that if the resist numbers aren't up there then the toon will be just fine. That said, I realized late last night I have to redo mine because somehow I skipped over Foresight. Not really a fan of having both Maneuvers as you can slot things easily enough to not need the 2nd one. There are a couple of good builds in Gulbasaur's post about his "Blood Widower" that I was using for notes.
  6. I was working on leveling a stalker to 50 (for my first lvl 50 villain) when the announcement for VEATs first came out. I put in overtime making sure I got to 50 on that toon so fast. Then I saved a name for a crab spider and once they were released, I tore into leveling that one and loved it. Once I hit 50 I decided to try a widow and liked the sound of night widows so I went with that. Pretty sure I had more fun leveling those 2 than any others I've had so far on both Live and HC (though this electric stalker is giving the crab spider competition... nothing beats my NW, though).
  7. I agree with wanting it changed. Even the Arachnos Widow version is PBAoE just to add to the irritation of the Stalker version. Why they did this I never understood. Plus, you get all flippity-floppy jazz hands with the jump and all you do is hit one bloody target? Oy vey...
  8. I really wanted to enjoy playing an Electric/Energy blaster like I had back in the day (my first 50)... The 50s I played after it have ruined the combo for me. The combo felt like I was attacking things with a 9 volt battery in comparison. Tried an Elec/Atomic for funsies (liked Atomic, hated Elec) but gave up after 3 missions... I really want to like Electrical Blast like I do Electrical Melee... sigh.
  9. It's super late where I am but insomnia has better resistance than me right now. I feel like a rarity because i call my NW my main. Fell in love with the archetype on Live and when HC popped up I jumped on the chance to revive my toon and improve it. I was not disappointed. I'm also on my phone so I can't post my current build for comparisons but I do see a couple of differences (save for IO choices). Didn't actually need the fighting pool on mine as i managed to make my defense high enough even with meh level (hardly any except psionic. My night widow don't play your mind games). I didn't take the medicine pool either (didn't need it on my build), opting for a patron pool for more offense because my character's theory is the best defense is too many choices in offense (like her shoe closet at her condo in St. Martial). I feel like i could nitpick choices with defensive slotting but honestly I am just grumpy from fighting insomnia... maybe i should count alts (sheep are so passé)...
  10. I skipped the psionic powers on my NW like what you are suggesting and did it twice, once on the original game and again on HC. I did not miss them and enjoyed the character much more than I did stalkers. Actually, I tore through the content quicker with a non-psionic NW. Does it have weaknesses? Sure, my Electric/Shield stalker does make me recognize how much the AOE can be missed but my NW usually kills things fast enough. The toon's crazy resistance to holds and mezzes are sorely missed right now on other melee toons I use. So, no, I don't think it would be gimped at all.
  11. When I first got into the game back in the day, that was actually my very first character.
  12. My electric stalker loves hitting mobs with BU'd LR then following it up with Ion Judgment. BU won't work on Incarnate powers but it doesn't need to.
  13. I just hit 50 and have played a couple of incarnate missions on mine (picked up Musculature and Reactive after much internal debate). Yeah... this has been a fun toon to level. Stepping into a group and letting loose with Lightning Rod and throwing in a chain induction has been a convenient way to thin out herds and then picking off stragglers. Historically I've played more ST-centric toons but this one, so far, is making me question what I was thinking before. I agree with your picks for Incarnate slots so far. They were what I've been leaning toward. As far as Epics go, I played up thru the blue side, but on my redsiders I tend to lean toward Mu Mastery.
  14. I freely admit to jumping into packs of Rikti monkeys and launching Ion Judgement or some AOE electric power while singing Peter Gabriel's "Shock the Monkey" more than a few times.
  15. Probably the worst looking choice, but on my original crab spider I went with Leviathan Mastery. Picked up School of Sharks (used infrequently) and Bile Spray. Bile Spray became part of my opening salvo with Omega Maneuvers, Suppression, and venom Grenade (not in that order, though). Seemed to do rather well thinning out herds while the spiderbots picked off the survivors. My current crab spider is only in the low 30's though so I don't know if I will go the same route because I don't want to look like I was at a college kegger right before battle (go Cap Au Diable State University Demons!)... probably will though. Outside of that I second Seigmoraig on the choice of Mu. My widow has it and I like it. Then again, with a handle like Shockacon, seems like I would naturally lean toward wanting to shoot electricity at mobs...
  16. Pretty sure I nearly broke a keyboard once in frustration not getting any of the names I wanted for one alt... even worse was when I got a couple of names of old toons from back in the day for a server on HC only to find it had already been taken on another when I wanted to build an alternate version of that character... The naming struggle is real
  17. Since Dual Blades was mentioned, I have to say my experience with a DB stalker was odd. Once I got the attacks I wanted, I enjoyed it quite a bit leveling up (vanguard weapons for lightsaber-y looks!)... But when I hit 50 and was about to start Incarnate stuff, I found I didn't want to go through it on a DB toon. Just something about the set made me NOT want to go Incarnate, and I loved that stuff on my night widow. Otherwise I have to agree with the tri-form Warshade replies.
  18. I have read it. However, I did miss the Electrical Blast posting so I am glad you mentioned it.
  19. My sentinel was originally an Elec/Energy blaster on Live, but I switched to BR and decided to try a Sentinel with it instead. How do you feel about BR vs Electrical Blast on Sentinels? I like the idea of my toon shooting electricity but took me forever leveling one before (blaster version at least) that I hesitate to try it again.
  20. So I've got a Sentinel currently on the backburner of alts to get through... Alt-itis, what are ya gonna do? Anyway, so I've been itching to start working on mine, currently a Beam Rifle. Without trying to break down numbers and all that science, has anyone tried BR with both Electric Armor and Energy Aura? Would you tell me your thoughts and how they felt playing them? Just curious as to how the flow of them worked together.
  21. Well, I feel kinda stoopid now. The pattern I refereed to is the Psych one, not Perplex... was looking to adjust a costume piece on an alt and noticed it. Sorry 'bout that!
  22. I've only ever seen the malaise option on the tops and bottoms, never so fr for gloves or boots. There is an option that looks similar (like a prototype version of Malaise) called Perplex you can add on the gloves and boots. Is that what you may be thinking of?
  23. I rather liked playing DB to 50 on my /nin stalker. There are several powers I skipped from /nin to grab more stuff out of the power pools. Plus, using the vanguard weapons you can pretend your stalker has lightsabers. I know I did.
  24. Had a scrapper that Striga Island didn't work for. Tried it in First Ward and had no issue there. Plus, you can grab 4 others there for any badge hoarding you want to do.
