  1. Double post, but this is a valid point.... until its not. A ton of IOs have a *lot* more weight than others (LoTG, Defense, Rech in general, etc) which end up narrowing down that variety imo. I saw it suggested that IOs be diversified more to where you could build for Def but sacrifice Rech / Offense, and vice versa so that you actually have more variety. That being you have "3 paths" (Offense, Defense, Rech) and can either go HAM in one path, or dip halfway into a few or anything in between, but cant have all of it.
  2. I think a couple of things could be balanced around here. Purples are more or less static in that they are super rare and available only at max level, on top of having only 1 purple per type. Unlike other IOs, they are sort of in their own bubble. The ATO's are similar in that they are also sort of in their own "bubble" where they only affect certain ATs and the procs in them are all sort of universally good to shoot for. Its everything else that is a mess when it comes to bonuses and certain procs / unique effects that are questionable.
  3. Well, the SO thing is why I am campaigning for a datamine of how many players actually use IOs vs SOs. If the vast majority of players use IOs... well... then the balance should shift.
  4. I mean at this point thats where the challenge is. My newly lvl 32 blaster can Nova entire +3 spawns in 1 shot with just BU and an Acc/Dam IO in Nova, and repeat that about every 65 sec thanks to /Time's version of BU and some FF procs. While awesomely fun, it is a bit 🤔 in terms of challenge at times.
  5. But then there are powers like Serum that would actually be improved if it summoned a cottage instead 😛
  6. Blasters are right up there with brutes as the most common AT tho?
  7. For the most part... but rules usually have exceptions.
  8. They don't exist in a vacuum, but 100% knockback on 10 targets at mag 8 vs 60% chance (6 target avg) of mag 5 vs 25% chance of mag 1.6 on (3 target avg) is just weird and causes weird chaos. Umbral Torrent is fine since you have 100% control over it as you said. Haze is weird in that it is downright unreliable and only barely knocks back. Energy Torrent, while dealing more damage, also oddly has a more than 50% chance to deal decent KB so its in a weird middle ground. Also, combined with the other AoEs in the set it then makes it weird to line up outside of a vacuum if some targets get spread while others don't. It can be frustrating when you try to line up your own AoEs only for one guy to be pushe dout of reach of the other randomly depending on the map. The same thing could be said in a team setting. If somebody has a power that is 100% controlled KB then they can at least leverage it reliably. Looking at say, Electron Haze and its just like "why isnt this Knockdown?" given the rarity and weak strength
  9. That's some goofball architecture if even the animations are incredibly baked in lmfao
  10. I guess I dont understand. When a power activates and calls an animation to play, is it so baked in that you cannot just have it play a different animation ignoring the weapon / etc?
  11. Just looking at Blasters at the moment It looks like there are some patterns (50% chance for mag ~3ish on the TAoEs), but then everything else is sort of scattered.
  12. I tried to have TW toned down a smidge and that caused a hellstorm, and even after showing numerical data it is still downright heresy to ask for a nerf. Bringing it up for Plant will have the same reaction lol
  13. Right, but cant we swap an animation out for another? Adding a weapon to a non-weapon animation is easy for most since you just attach a model to the appropriate bone, clipping be damned 😛 If you were to say, replace Whirling Sword's animation with Dragon's Tail from MA, if the sword is for whatever reason stuck to the model even with the swapped animation you could just hide it.
  14. @Tyrannical, if its a mater of the new animation still holding the weapon, then making it invisible would alleviate the issue.
  15. They cant like, import an animation and set the weapon to be invisible or something?
  16. Yessss Honestly, more stuff you can do with your powers would be amazing. Like how you can fight fires with cold powers (technically combat still but w/e), there should be more to do outside just fight bad guys.
  17. As for an AoE stun, or even the AoE sleep elec has tho... what's the functional difference most of the time vs an AoE hold? Stun maybe has them wander a foot in a direction, sleep and fear they can attack back but it's highly unlikely and they stay mostly immobile, and all these are usually options you can fire per fight.
  18. I like the idea of these being Nuke-Controls rather than just "AoE Control". At a 4 min rech, they should not have the acc bonus and they should totally have a higher magnitude of effect. Sure, at max Recharge you can get these up kinda often, but at max recharge you can already do bonkers-insane stuff anyway.
  19. Could Trip Mine / Time Bomb (I'd like these to be combined into a "Bomb" power honestly) use the temp power tray like the Origin pools with a new power "Detonate" that you can command?
  20. True, and I do think that IOs (and Incarnates) combined with content that seems more geared to SO balance is a culprit. If the vast majority of players use IOs at the least, that is something to look at in terms of the overall balance.
  21. I think showing it per account would be better then, on top of say unique per character or something
