Wow seriously? I agree with @lemming this is probably a major reason for the CoC updates around multiboxing. Sadly, if Fold Space is being abused like this, it's probably time for the HC folk to take a look at the power and make some adjustments.

I wouldn't say that the Council updates are harder. Annoyingly tedious is a better description I think. Personally, I'd have preferred a new enemy faction that's a bit on the tougher side and left the Council alone. Sometimes it's just fun to mindlessly punch bad guys in the face and steamroll them.

I do the same, but this is digressing from the point of the thread. Main takeaways I'm seeing here are that it's not Fold Space itself, but how others are using it poorly and aren't communicating when using it. @ZacKing hit the nail on the head here. I think that's it exactly. Using Fold Space in the ToT league where it isn't really needed is taking away fun from others. Some people using it don't see that and can't put themselves in other people's shoes. This is supposed to be a fun community event with everyone jumping in to have some fun fighting endless hordes of bad guys. If you're using Fold Space to pull mobs off of other people, that's taking away something fun from them. So far most people I've encountered will stop using it when asked politely, but there have been a couple of people who are very rudely adamant about not using it. Honestly, you really don't need it, but if you find you must, maybe take the advice folks have given in this thread and communicate to others in the league so they know what's going on. No need for anyone to be rude.

I'm curious what everyone thinks about this particular topic. Its something I've seen come up a few times now that the Halloween event is in full swing - players using Fold Space on ToT leagues teleporting mobs off of other players. I've seen it happen quite a few times now where it's causing friction and grief among teammates on Leagues. First, it appears there are a lot of players out there that don't know what Fold Space is or how it works, and they question in League chat why mobs are disappearing from around them. Reactions to someone using Fold Space range from finding it utterly hilarious to getting pissed off and quitting the League. Some have asked that it not be used while on the League. Most everyone is polite and respectful and obliges and there's been a few who really were quite rude and refused to stop using it. For me, I can see both sides here. I've been ToT'ing with my Brutes and Tanks and have had someone teleport large mobs away from me. We're all on the same team/league so we're all getting rewards whether I'm killing stuff or someone else is, so not a big deal for me. I'll just move on to the next door. Others apparently don't think it's all that funny. I have seen some others get really angry about it and I can honestly understand their frustration. We all like fighting stuff. It's what all of us find fun and a big part of why we're playing. Being engaged with a large mob only to have it pulled away from right in front of them is taking that fun away and enjoyment from someone else. This Fold Space issue is along the lines of the whole use of Group Fly argument. Some people like it and some people don't. The question that comes up most is whether or not it's really needed. At least to me, powers like Group Fly and Fold Space are situational. If I had them, I'd be fine using it solo. However, if I'm on a team and it's bothering someone else, I can adapt and oblige as I like to be courteous to fellow players. Like I said, it doesn't really bother me but I can see how it bothers other people. What's your take on Fold Space usage? Is it ok/necessary to use on Leagues for ToTing or should it be used sparingly if at all?

No, it isn't "extra work" at all. It can be time consuming based on the server and time of day, but it isn't "hard work". Not by any stretch. Especially since most people joining teams or leagues already know what to do. Newbies who haven't run something before are the rare exception in my experience. The rewards for leading teams is getting to run the content you want to run when you want to. That's more than enough. I see my earlier question still hasn't been answered yet -

It's an honest question. You're suggesting people who lead teams or leagues should get some sort of special rewards for their effort. As @ZacKing correctly pointed out, not everyone leading a team is good at it and not everyone is a good leader. You've shared some of your bad experiences with team leads. I'm sure we've all come across team leads who proved to be woefully inadequate for any number of reasons. Should they get rewarded for badly leading a team?

Not against the idea in general, but will say I don't think it's needed. For me, story arc rewards could be increased a hundred fold and I still wouldn't run them outside of absolute necessity. Some story arcs can be fun, but most are extremely tedious and boring. The content gets very stale, very quickly and much of it is a relic from the commercial era of the game. Story arcs are filled with loads of Fedex missions, glowy hunts, or arbitrary timers to keep you in front of the computer playing longer. Just the other day I ran the Chapter 4 arc for Croatoa to unlock Katie Hannon as a contact so I could run her TF. The last mission in that where you're sitting around waiting for the 15 minute timer to run out while you kill the occasional minion or two is a good example. It's poorly designed content in my opinion, and increasing the rewards isn't going to entice me to run stuff like that more often. Those who like and enjoy running story arcs can do so to their hearts content. Those who want speed through and just level running TFs and iTrials can do that. There's something for everyone here and that's a good thing.

I didn't think she was a bad character either, just not an "A-List" level. I don't think she's an interesting enough character (along with the others) to carry a film though.

Yes I understand that. Recognition from the HC team for what though? They don't need us here. This server is theirs and will go on whether any of us are here or not. This suggestion would make more sense were the game still a commercial venture where a healthy and active player base is essential to keeping the money flowing in to fund development. I'm not at all suggesting that the HC folks are callous and don't care about the community. I'm sure they do care, so please don't take what I'm saying as such. From my own personal experience, there are a great many people forming teams regularly, helping out fellow players with all kinds of things, devoting their free time to building things for others to use, helping show others the ropes and such. What does the gold title do for them anyway? If we're going to be handing out gold titles for things like that, then may as well hand out a gold title to everyone. Again, personally I can appreciate and agree with the sentiment behind the idea. I just don't see it being something worth implementing. I much prefer the idea others have suggested to making these into badges that can be earned rather than gold titles.

Correct. You said the team leader was "immoral" for booting you because they didn't agree with letting you continue to use group fly. This, along with other posts you have made trying to inject morality into the discussion, is where people are saying you're accusing anyone who disagrees with you as "immoral" just as you are saying that team lead is immoral. This is a circular argument since you just don't see where others are coming from. FFS just read what you wrote here and see how many times you used the word "team". You're trying to say that the "team" = "everyone who agrees with me" now. Do you not understand the definition of the word team? The fact that you are unable to make the distinction that once you agree to join a team - whether that's with another single player or with more than one other player -you aren't solo anymore. You are on a team. It does not matter if you have a problem with an individual on the team or several members. You're on a team and should adjust your game play accordingly. Actually, you did. You said you wouldn't comply with the request of the team lead. There's no distinction there. Says the person saying people are of lower IQ.... So after following your posts over the last few days on this topic, it's more than abundantly clear who the problem was on that team. Good day to you. You are the one who keeps trying to inject morality into the situation and making the inference that someone kicking you from a team after you failed to oblige a very simple request makes them morally wrong by continuing to use the word "moral". Semantics has nothing to do with it. Were there other person(s) with you? Yes. That makes you on a team. The word "team" means "not just you alone". Two or more people working together on the same thing is a team. Or are you suggesting that teams only mean a full team of 8 or a full league now? So the team leader should have automatically yielded to you? It's like others said in the other thread.... it's "main character" and "victim" complexes.

You're inferring that the team lead was morally wrong to kick you. Were you on a team with that single individual? Yes. Were you hindering them? Yes. That's why they asked you to stop using GF. Guess what that means? You were on a team and you were hindering them. Amen!

Right but the suggestion was to have a form that anyone can request a gold title. I don't think that's necessary or a good idea. It's just one more thing for the HC team to look after. I don't know about anyone else, but getting a round of "thank you" from a league goes a long way. Every Saturday night there's tons of people thanking @Kalikamata in League and Broadcast chat for hosting the SNS on Torch. That's more meaningful to me and shows more appreciation than a gold title does.

Yeah against a budget upwards of $300 million (if not more since budgets are always understated). Even without COVID, there's no way that it would have pulled in a billion + at the box office. They'd have been lucky to barely break even. It just wasn't that good of a movie. Nothing against Florence Pugh as I'm sure she's a fine actress. Yelena just isn't an interesting character in my opinion. We've already seen Black Widow. Yelena is the bargain basement/budget/clearance sale Black Widow ripoff. All of those films were flops too lol.

The problem in trying that formula here is that none of these characters are even remotely "D List" characters. They're not going to hold the same interest or have the same gravitas as a Tony Stark or Steve Rogers or Natasha Romanoff or Thor. Let's face it, Black Widow was a huge flop. Why even bother trying to put those characters into another film? That's half your cast coming from a movie that was an enormous steaming turd of a flop.

I did read the thread. Your intent was quite clear in that you felt you were "morally superior" and "in the right" for insisting everyone else cater to you instead of you adapting to working with others. Correct, you admitted you don't need to use it. Since you don't need to use it, it's perfectly reasonable for a team lead who is being adversely affected by your use of GF to ask you to turn it off. That's the point, not how long you were or weren't using it. It doesn't matter if the team lead asked you within 30 seconds of starting or on the final mission of the TF. It's their team, their rules. You can't fault new players for not knowing about Null. Personal responsibility falls upon you as well. Again, as was repeated many times in the other thread, there are other people on the team to be considerate of. If you are using abilities that you know will be adversely affecting them, then you also have some degree of personal responsibility to inform your teammates ahead of time or to not use those abilities when asked on a team. You're supposed to work together on a team and play well with others. Telling everyone else to suck it up and that it's their problem they're being affected by your use of group fly simply because you can't be bothered to turn it off (again when you admitted to not even needing it), yes, that's being a dick and not taking any personal responsibility on a team. If you're playing solo, knock yourself out. Use group fly all you like. Null is a simple solution, the problem with it is that it's not easily found unless someone knows about it ahead of time (and remembers to use it) and new players will not even know what things like speed boost and group fly are until they experience it first hand. I don't think Null needs to be in more locations, rather give some of his options to trainers like Miss Liberty so that players can see those options and explanations for them when they first start out.
