Guess what? If you wanted to be fair, you could have placed a Support Ticket. If you want to be more aggressive about it, you can PM a GM. If want to hang out your dirty laundry for everyone to see, post it in the forums. ... and ... this is nothing that the Homecoming team is going to do anything about. You can get kicked from a team, league, or supergroup and the DEVs aren't going to do anything about it. Why do you think an RPG group would be any different? By posting this here, It looks like your goal is drama more than anything else. You are dealing with a private RPG group. There are no official Homecoming RPG groups. There isn't even an "official" Homecoming RPG server. They are trying to find other people to game with, but they are very protective of what they already have. It seems that they were kind enough to communicating with you about why they did not want to let you join before showing you the door. You left the same RPG groups that they don't want to be involved with because you didn't like their behavior. How can you blame them for wanting to avoid those people that you found toxic? I tell you what. To me, you seem to be pretty toxic, self righteous, and full of hubris. Perhaps you would do best to start your own RPG group. Some people like the drama.

Changing enemy groups halfway through a mission?
UltraAlt replied to Dusty Longshot's topic in Mission Architect
Set the main enemies as the Skulls. You can place an escort NPC(s) in the back of a mission (the number of things you can set in an area are limited), and what type of villain group you want guarding them - they don't have to be the same as the rest of the mission. If you don't want this to show up until all the skulls are defeated, then you would need to make it a "kill all" and set it to trigger when the "kill all" is completed. Then you chain ambushes onto the completion of the escort and set what kind of villain group they are. They don't have to be the same villain group as the ones set for the mission nor the ones that were guarding the escort NPC. Different maps allow a different number of activated things in the various areas of the map. Set the main mission enemies as Skulls. I would start with setting the escorts first and see how many you can set in the back. If that meets the number you want. Set them up and make the Crey the enemy group. Setup the Crey ambushes next and set the "Mission goal is created when" to the "escort" completion with - obviously - the Crey as the enemy group. If you want the escorts only to show up after the Skulls are defeated, then I would put the "defeat all enemies" in next. Then I would go back and set the escort "Mission goal is created when" to "defeat all enemies" is completed Keep in mind the levels of the various villain groups. -
How is it a technicality for someone to use the /lfg to communicate with someone that is recruiting for a team and/or to reference your message per minute rate on the channel? Yeah. I understand that you do not think them being able to post quickly on the LFG verus probably trying to type out the person's name to send a tell to the that they would to join would be any more successful. I think it will up their chances of getting on the team. This is a garbage response. "I'll join" after someone posts a message recruiting for something is in no way just just saying "Yes" or some such. It is clearly stating that they would like to join the team. You can take it how you want. No one is going to have any control over that. I personally invite people to the team when they say "I'll join". But I'm just like that. Here is and I provided it for them. It isn't a direct tell to the leader, but it is a macro. Several of us also directed them that they could click on their name to get the option to send them a direct tell. They may not have known that. You are really getting argumentative with me. I don't know why other than you may want to join my ignore list. If that is the intent, just ask me to put you on my ignore list.

Yep. It's necroed, but there was already a post about it and I wanted to post about my experience with whip only masterminds. My timesense is a bit shot to hades and back at this point, but I'm guessing I've been playing them while alt-ing around for about 3-4 months now. There was a more recent thread, but that directed that they didn't want to post on that thread about petless whip masterminds on that thread as it was already going on in another thread, so I hunted this one down and posted.

I'm assuming if there is only 3.25 posts per minute. It is most likely to be to the last poster. I think you are working too hard to try to defend your stance.

Some Thoughts and Questions about "Shard Culture"
UltraAlt replied to SentaiLavender's topic in Everlasting
Shard culture is real. I play on all the servers. Across the all servers it seems like it's heading on 50% of the people are playing 50's at any given time. We know how a good majority of how those 50's get there. I think you are going to find players that run sub-50 content on every server. The secret is always - if you want to run a certain level content with a team, the easiest way to get people to join you is to recruit for it yourself. I say this because people have astrophobia - a fear of (the) star(s), but a large number of people are looking for a team that won't say anything but will jump (alts even) to join one. There does seem to be more bios on Everlasting than on Excelsior. There are a good number on Torchbearer and Reunion as well. (I am honestly not sure if I ever managed to get on a team or a get a team going on Indomitable) There is a migration to higher population servers. But I have seen those that have migrated and stop playing. Why? They want to find more people to play with but the grass isn't always greener and when you go to a more or most populated server, you get what comes with that territory. I have characters on Excelsior, but, honestly, for a good while now, I put more time in on Reunion and have a better time there than when on Excelsior. The people on Reunion really seem to enjoy being on a team with other people and don't have a problem expressing that. I always think that goes around comes around. If you spread the environment that you want, then you are more likely to run into it in return. -
Sounds like a good experiment. Let us know how it turns out. I haven't made one, because I haven't had a character conception that made me want to make one ..... yet ... .... oh, wait ... I do have an electric/electric sentinel ... I just don't have a non-electric/electric Sentinel ....
-
So I have been experimenting with this. The key to not picking pet powers is 1) treat your teammates as your pets. (So, yes, that means trying to always team up.) 2) not expecting this to work at level 50+ 3) some point before level 50, turn off XP 4) run content sub 50 that is a comfortable level for your character Electrical Affinity seems to work really well as a secondary. You can heal, shield, and buff your teammates and yourself through the spark off a nearby teammate. I haven't used hasten in any of my petless whip masterminds. Between the whipping (enemies) and electrocuting my teammates (and enemies sometimes), my character is plenty busy, helpful, and successful on most teams. It is obviously much easier with a Tank that is actually a Tank (how can you be a tank without Taunt?! I know, don't get them started ... I'm talking about being a mastermind without pets!)

Discussion - "Ownership" of public game spaces for roleplay purposes
UltraAlt replied to MistressOhm's topic in Roleplaying
You can RP your asserting that they don't own the "turf". That's RP too. They can either rp with you about it/deal with it, /ignore you, move someplace else, or call you out to a PvP zone to fighting it out. -
People post all the time that they want to join teams in /lfg. Not just "I'll join", but post that they looking for a team or someone to carry them. There is nothing wrong with saying "I'll join" in lfg. I send tells myself to join teams. I'd rather post in lfg that I'm recruiting and/or how many I have on the team. There is nothing wrong with posting "I'll join" on the /lfg channel.

Discussion - "Ownership" of public game spaces for roleplay purposes
UltraAlt replied to MistressOhm's topic in Roleplaying
I don't think that putting in a ticket about others rp'ing in local is going to get you anywhere unless they are breaking the CoC. They aren't breaking the CoC by talking local regardless of where they are. I don't see where it your place to tell anyone in game to "straighten up and fly right" unless they are ERP'ing in public. ... and if they are ERP'ing in public, recording footage of the conversation and reporting it is something that you should do, because minors do play this game. Most ERPr's know better and "get a room". Honestly, anyone can team up and chat in team or even league up and talk in league. you can add/remove chat types from chat tabs. Chatting in local is for everyone in the area obviously. Everyone local enough can see/hear it. -
Discussion - "Ownership" of public game spaces for roleplay purposes
UltraAlt replied to MistressOhm's topic in Roleplaying
Cliques form in any kind of social setting. The more elitist a clique becomes, the more territorial they become aka mark their territory. Perhaps they think that they are even putting on a show for others that aren't as cool as they are. I mean, if they are chatting in local, that's anyone's and everyone's local. Anyone can talk in local. it's no different than a crowded rowdy bar. Do you remember how crowded the Pocket D used to be? The dance floor was crowded with people dancing, and they were most probably having tell conversations versus local conversations. The RPG community is out there. Some are going to to be extroverts and some are going introverts. As I mentioned above, some are going to be rp-ing in the open to exert claim on turf and some may just be "acting" in public because they think other people will want to observe/view their rp-ing. I see RP-ing in Public Places more in the Pocket D than any place else. That's what it's there for. It's a club. If the issue really is that you can't rp because you are being disrupted by others in a public place, then you have suggested the solution to your own problem. Those other people are the public. I have the feeling that filing a complaint that other people are talking in local where you are rp'ing in local isn't going to go very far with the DEVs or GMs. A public place is a public place. They can try to assert domination, but that is them rp'ing even if it is just their own natural behavior. How do they say "get a room" these days? There are alot of open bases for rp'r to rp in, but they shouldn't be forced to go there. If they RP in an open place and talk in local, they can't really complain about others walking up and talking in local in a public place. Of course, they can rp complain because that is all they are really doing. You can rp back your complaint against them or just ignore them and have your own conversation the same as you would in a crowded bar. Now stalking or harassing are completely different things. If you try to interact with someone, they don't want to play and tell you as much .... it's easy enough to just not interact with them. Don't sent them tells. If they are in a public place, and you are chatting in local and in the same area .... you are in a public place talking in local. Honestly, if you are in a public place, snide comments about others is what Cliques are about. Make your group feel superior by demeaning others. Rival cliques go at it. It isn't going to turn into a fight in the Pocket D. Take it to a PvP area if you want to rumble. -
I"m assuming you are indicating that clicking on the player's name, clicking on sent tell, typing "I'll Join", and hitting enter is taking too long. How about this. Type "I'll join", copy it (aka control c). Next time something that comes up you want to join :: click on the player's name, clicking on sent tell, and paste (aka control v) and hit enter. It won't work as well, but you can always .... /macro join "lfg I'll join!"

I know you are trying to keep up with youngin's with "PnP". I think the current lingo is "tabletop", old timer. People alway trying to rewrite the language and seize terms. Champions is/was an RPG. Role Playing Game. It says it on the cover.

What's a main character? I only have a "main" character then a game, friends, or online gaming group forces me into it. Any kind of "main" in City of Heroes are ones that more or less have a leveling-pact with a friend's or friends' character(s) that we make based on some plan and then generally play them up into the 40's or up to 50. I don't play those characters when the other player(s) aren't online. So really those aren't mains either ... and I don't think you can have multiple mains or mains that you stop playing once you are done main-ing them - if what I'm doing can even be considered main-ing them, when I spend more time playing other multiple characters per week more than those that I'm maining (if that is main-ing) - but maybe that is the main thing in a microcosm of the game. I'm too busy alting to have a main. Who am I kidding!?! Don't take off your mask.

... but badges! ... People want badges ... they want to catchcollect'em all! [tm]
-
I think you are talking about power customization versus emotes. I don't know of any emotes that are bound to an archetype(s). There are are bunch of threads about power customization and some of them are about various magic-style customizations blaster powers in particular - hand gestures, wands, staves, etc.
-
Musical instrument emotes I'm sure have been asked for before as well. Air guitar is fine, but what actual guitars? A bass? Drum kit drumming? (I know we already have two drumming, but still...) Keyboard? Some jazz instruments? It would be able to great to set up a band playing in the Pocket D or even just out on the street somewhere. I don't want to be a naysayer, but it is unlikely that we will be able to get emotes that actually interact with another character ... especially carrying another character. There are examples of emotes that one player can do and another player can emote/react to.

Base Editor Changes: Things We'd All Like to See
UltraAlt replied to Dacy's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
You can stick a portal in practically anything. I know most of the portals are too big to hide in objects, but you can put them on the ground under them or stand them sideways inside of them. Play around with it. You can make the portable accessible but mostly hidden in or under an object. The teleport beacons can be hidden inside objects even easier as they are smaller. -
You seem to be more civilized and eloquent than the more vocal on the Excelsior chat channels.

This again? Is it taking a long time to get the monthly revenue in? That's the main thing. I don't even bother looking any more because the window to donate closes so fast. It doesn't make any difference how many people are playing. That's not the point of Homecoming as far as I can tell. This is a place that people that love CoH can come to play the game and, hopefully, find people to team up with. Numberwise, this does impact Indominable and Reunion during most of the times that I play in regard to teaming. I can still solo or play on another server, Torchbearer is busy prime time but it does drop off on the off hours. Everlasting has stayed fairly well populated most of the time. I've seen population on Excelsior growing during prime time. I'm not sure what the cap is, but I'm guessing that at some points it is heading toward max load on weekday nights. I'm wondering if that server reached max pop on weekends. Excelsior is the new Freedom server. Highest pop and the behavior that goes on with that - which seems to go hand-in-hand.
