  1. What is the difference between "moved to the market" and "added to the market" exactly?
  2. I started playing before issue 2 dropped, so if you know what it was like playing then, you shouldn't be complaining. So you are grumbling because you actually like the game, but just don't want to have to grind. I would suggest making a new character and leveling it the old fashion way and try to team as you go. Don't stress so much about being uber. sure. Of course not. Why would it be relevant to see if you are PL'ing to the end and trying to slot all purples as soon as you get there only to find you don't have enough influence to do so?
  3. If you don't enjoy doing it, don't do it. If it makes the CoH unplayable, then you should have been been here before the market was part of the game. I think it would be better worth your time to find a game that you enjoy playing than spending time complaining here. I have the feeling that you are complaining because you really enjoy playing the game, but that brings me to a question ... do you AE doorsit to 50?
  4. You gotta do the real marketing work to become an Ebil Marketer.
  5. If if something is on the market (seeded) and I buy it, resell it, and turn a profit - it quite certainly did add the influence to the market. Without that product being seeded, I would not have it to sell. The product itself is worth influence the same as any other product put on the market is worth influence. Just because a player needs to generate influence to buy the thing, doesn't mean that the market item doesn't have an influence value inherent to itself. Same goes with the market changing a crafted enhancement to an attuned. No catalyst is needed. The market catalyzes the enhancement itself, and this certainly has an influence value. That influence value was added to the market by that market operation. And there is amount of value in the Market based on items that are available for sale and customer bids in the market. The total value of the Market is the value of the items posted in the Market regardless if the Market items are posted by players or seeded. By reducing the cost of the item needing otherwise needing to be catalyzed that is quite obviously changing the influence cost. My point isn't about how much influence players have, but the inherent influence added to the market by seeding and market self-catalyzing enhancements. Some players, maybe many, can't figure out how to leverage that inherent influence out of the system. It is probably simpler for some to stick to farming.
  6. Most of the Tips are soloable, I think. There are the "Who will die?" and "Pandora's Box" story arcs (see them in LFG under the Story Arc tab). I think those can be solo'd. Police Scanner/Newspaper missions can be solo'd. There are actually story arcs in the AE (oh, no! This AE mission isn't a farming mission!?! How is that possible?!? Farmer rage quit) and most of those can be solo'd as well.
  7. I don't think this is true. The market is seeded and the market transforms any level of crafted enhancement to an attuned enhancement. Both of these add influence to the market by adding product and upgrading product. You can't post anything to the market without influence so the starter influence comes from somewhere. But, yeah, the influence mainly comes from playing the content. There are some aspects of CoH that is more about farming influence and XP instead of actually playing the game. I'm not claiming that I don't Market PVP, because I do ... but I know full well that the original point of the Market was not the PVP aspect.
  8. The PVP is always there, but most players overlook the best PVP in CoH ... the Market/Auction House. [ I would ask how the update has affected the PVP community, but that's for another thread in the https://forums.homecomingservers.com/forum/28-the-arena-pvp/ ]
  9. From thin air. The NPCs don't actually create it when they are arrested/defeated/killed. The game generates the influence/infamy/information on the spot and adds it to the character getting credit for the arrest/defeat/kill. I'm more concerned with ....
  10. ack. We can't even get a Council bazooka for LRM rocket Epic pool power!
  11. These are generally rather small compared to the other instruments and, therefore, not as noticable. I would rather that we start with the ones that are more obvious when they are slung on the back. Sorry. Missed your comment mentioning RP. Some people just want costume parts that look cool, and to them it really doesn't have anything to do with actual RP'ing. It's just a costume part. You had already posted which parts you thought you would like to see. I was posting the parts that I would like to see. Ack. Are these for huge characters only?! Err. Can you post a picture of this music instrument called a "cannon"? I'm trying to picture how this would be worn on the back. 🤔
  12. If the instruments were used as part of the visual for the attacks, they would each need their own animation. Being able to have one on your back (as a backpack) for RP reasons, is a good option. Best thing ever, no. But better than nothing. I always thought it would be good to have more musical instrument emotes other than just the drums. I don't really count the air guitar. Instruments I would like to see for backpacks would be the larger instruments, Guitar, acoustic Guitar, electric Bass, electric Saxophone Trumpet Marching band style drum Boom box Zither Harp Don't have time to think of more at the moment, have to run ...
  13. Does that do PBAoE Energy Damage?
  14. Create your own server and program it yourself it you want it and know better than everyone else. I've heard enough out of you.
  15. The DEVs aren't paid. They volunteer to run and support a game that many of us love. They program and work on what interest them and what they think they can accomplish for the good of the game. You are insulting those that are providing for us a greatly loved game environment for many of us. You are in no place to demand anything or make insinuations about what is easy and what is not. Private servers have branched off in different directions and the sections of code aren't plug-and-play. From what I hear the ThunderSpy script isn't as tightly written and parts of Homecoming have changed the original coding so that codes from the other private servers don't necessary work well with the changes that Homecoming has already made. Perhaps if you think ThunderSpy is so great, you should go play over there.
  16. Are you playing the leveling of the character or do you power-level to 50? I'm assuming you have already picked some powers. Which powers have you picked?
  17. Looking back, I have the thought in the back of my head that it was the best thing that could have happened at that point in game development changed to money grab. City of Heroes in a much better state now here at Homecoming. The drive to produce new content is focused back onto love of the game instead of ways to gain more income. I'm a bit bias though, as I had given up on my beloved game in disgust and quit my membership almost exactly a year before the Sunset. I love Homecoming as much as I did City of Heroes before the darkness of Going Rogue feel upon it after the crippling impact of AE Going Farmer and F2P. One blow after another. A City beaten into submission. Like a phoenix it has risen. It's great to be back in THE CITY.
  18. I'm just wondering ... I'm just a tinker ... but ... I don't want to say turn off your router, leave it off for 5 minutes, turn it back and let it sit for 5 minutes, and then restart your computer ... but... [erk... just saw Six-Six's post... thought I had read the whole thread, but sometimes we gloss over the small bits] I hear these days that we don't need power and control in bases? Is that correct? If so, then I guess I have to ask if you have power and control in your base. If not, maybe put them in to see if that helps. Next, have you deleted all the teleports and teleport beacons, exited the base, gone back in and put back in the teleporters and beacons, exited the base, gone back in, and see if they are working? [Possibly some steps optional, but that should be about clean of a reset of your teleports as possible]
