Sure, they could be considered Stalkers, but those were originally villain-only archetypes. (I also figure that Batman et al are using the Stealth pool versus being Assassins) Your point is however noted, and I agree on some levels in regards to some portrayals of the characters more than others. I was trying to prove the point as to why tanks had super strength and scrappers did not. Batman isn't going to grab a hunk of concrete/boulder out of the ground and throw it at someone.

Batman is a scrapper. Superman is a tank.

what is your definition of "the moat badass"? I'm a character conception player, so I'm not sure what you are going for. Doing the most damage? Debuffing? fun?

Oh, Doctor! Make it stop hurting!

Okay, I can't deny that if you slot x3 KB in the repel, but still, even so....

Doing things that are disruptive to the rest of the team is only beautiful to the one being disruptive.

So you are confirming that you are down to personal attacks to try to prove something. Okay. Noted.

Why does it make sense? People avoid being on fire or any other kind of damage for that matter. Someone staying in a fire or in an area where they are getting injured is the part that doesn't make sense.

Yes. It is a suggestion and people are debating it. If they are posting to try to change my mind, they aren't saying anything that will change my mind, so I'm letting them know that. I'm not browbeating anyone by standing by my own stance. They have their view. I have mine. If anyone is attempting to browbeating someone, it is you attempting to browbeat me into silence.

I disagree for the reasons that I have already stated in this thread. The DEVs are the ones to decide. They can read both our stances. There is no reason for either of us to restate our stances.

But if you do damage to someone that is pacified, they can attack you. Which would apply first? I'm assuming the powers effects go off first and then the proc has a chance to go off, so you could be waking them up by the psi attack to attack you until they are placated again. Just saying ... All the powers are there to be used. I will admit that I don't use the Presence Pool as much as say Leadership. I'm a Leadership junkie. But the Presence pool has its place. Since I play by character conception, I definitely have characters who should have the Presence Pool. They are more likely to take it for the Fear effects. It's a bit annoying to have to go through the placates and taunts to get to the fear powers, but, if my character conception doesn't call for the placate or taunt, then don't even bother putting them in my tray. A couple slots lost for me isn't that big of a deal. I never use sprint, and I rarely use brawl after level 20. So the game already has it set-up for me to take powers out of my tray that I'm not going to use. 2 more on a character isn't a big deal to me, but I'm playing based on character conception. Honestly, I hadn't even read this (info about the change to taunt enhances being slottable by placate powers) before making my two test characters. Earth/Earth Dom and Seismic/Earth Blaster (I think I have those power set names and archetypes correct). But I made my Earth/Earth Dom with Presence pool selections. It fit (character conception) so I picked it. Perhaps this isn't a power pool that Mids ever lists? I don't use Mids so I don't know. The DEVs didn't create Mids.

I am against giving taunt to scrappers; I have already stated my reasons in this thread. I have already stated in this thread an option where scrappers can get taunt through the presence power pool..

Brutes are not tanks. They don't mitigate damage as well as a tank. Brutes are a mix of Tanks and Scrappers. it is debatable if Mastermind or Brutes were considered to be the Tanks of CoV. Because Scrappers are not tanks. They aren't even some hybrid between a tank and a scrapper. They are a scrapper. Scrappers have even less def/resistance that Brutes. And you now why? The DEVs said so. If scrappers want taunt, I explained how to get it. Scrapper can have a Taunt and it is in the Presence pool. It is not as powerful as a tank's taunt, but it is a taunt and you can slot it up with taunt enhances. It is there. Don't try to ignore it. You don't have to get the challenge/confront power if you don't want it, get the Presence power instead. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't keep some people from beating a dead horse.

Wow. You have to have a tank on every task force you run? You know, I don't have that problem. I don't need a tank on my team or task force to be successful. And the only time AVs are running around all over the place is when they are chasing someone running away from them that has agro'ed them. I think there is a Presence pool power that will give you a taunt if you really think you need it. And, if the AV is the only enemy left, then Challenge/confront can cover it. I'm pretty sure every scrapper melee type can get Challenge. But if you take that power, you could just as easily take the presence poll power - which is an AoE and allows you to slot taunt enhances.

By "most situations" do you mean end game content? Sleeps are most useful when soloing or working with teammates that are also using sleep powers or those that know you are using sleep powers and are trying to work with you. I never take the sleep-like powers when I play an Earth Controller. It would be the same for this set when I make a character with it on-live. (and, yes, I already have a character conception for this. Made it years ago for the original Champions RPG - not to be confused with the MMORPG)

I have brought up before the word usage in the power description. The power does X damage. Where X means something, but, apparently, it really doesn't mean anything. Typically powers that do light or minor damage have some debuff worked into them and can usually be proc'ed to do some additional minor damage/etc or even hold in addition. Since they recharge fast often dual proc'ing them can pay off. Encase - for example - slots defense debuffs. You can put a Devastation : Chance for hold, Dark Watcher : Chance for Recharge Slow, ? Rock Shards - for example - slots defense debuffs. You can put a Dark Watcher : Chance for Recharge Slow, Bombardment : chance for fire damage, ? Usually there is some pay off for the reduced damage : Stalagmite - If affected by Seismic Shockwaves, this power will halt the shockwaves and deal extreme damage. Bonus Damage is only 2/3rds enhanceable. You can put a Devastation : Chance for hold, ?

Playing at level 30. I really like this power set. Seismic pressure doesn't seem to excessive yet. My only feedback is the power SFX are too big. I would reduce the size of the SFX at least in half for most of the powers. The SFX take up too much screen space. Tombstone really seems like it should have a hold component for some reason ... even if is for a very short time and not slotable. Oh, forgot. It seems that the ranges are very short for some reason, but might be due to the size of the SFX.
