  1. What benefit would there be for it to be played through Steam if there is no payments as part of playing the game? Nothing. The people that respect the game can find it. I really don't want a new big wave of players that don't care about the game and that just show up to trash talk and degrade the player base. Go to an crowded open area in DCUO and watch the /shout chat or just watch the /lfg chat. What is the reasoning behind needing to attract more players? Have you created any non-farm AE missions? So are you stating that you are pro-lag and pro-mapserverdisconnect as well? https://massivelyop.com/author/bree-royce/ Editor-in-Chief at https://massivelyop.com/ "Favorite MMOs: Star Wars Galaxies, City of Heroes, Guild Wars, Guild Wars 2, Trove, Glitch, Elder Scrolls Online, Ultima Online" City of Heroes is 2nd on Bree's list, so I think you have your answer there. (Didn't take much of web search.) And you think new players would crowd to the low population ones instead of going to the heavily populated once simply because they are new players?
  2. I think it was because they asked and it was easy enough to do. "Options for 'No Incarnate Powers' and 'Only Alpha Slot' were added to the powers options for any arc in the SL9 (Level 45-50) categories. Completing a Flashback arc using these two new options rewards two new Ouroboros category badges." - https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/32758-patch-notes-for-november-26th-2021-issue-27-page-3/ So if you don't use the "No incarnate powers" setting you can't use lore pets? Challenge Modes [Focused Feedback: Advanced Difficulty Options and Challenge Mode] Most dictionary definitions and common usages of the term are generic and not limited to the characters of any particular company or companies. Nevertheless, variations on the term "Super Hero" or "Superhero" are jointly claimed by DC Comics and Marvel Comics as trademarks. But sure, that was a somewhat satirical dig at the best super(hero) MMO ever made. So at this point, if you don't like it, I think you know where the "exit mission" button is ... just being satirical - of course. You could actually help playtest. You could post on the Focused Feedback threads. Or you can run around waiving your arms in the air screaming the sky is falling (people love to accuse me of that for much less)
  3. All my characters are created and played by me. I can't seem to break that habit.
  4. It seems to me that the case is for a majority of games, it is less than 10% of the player base that goes to a game's forum for any other reason to get an answer for a specific question. Due to the nature of this game and the percentage of players from before the sunset, I'm guessing the percentage might be a little higher here, but look around and you see the same people participating in the forums consistently, and it really isn't that many of us. Not sure that that means. Is that multiple choice question? Depends on experience, if you are running on a team or solo, what archetype you are playing, how you are slotted, what kind enhancements you are using, if you know the secret to fighting a certain enemy group, if you are willing to be flexible with your playstyle, are you new to the archetype or set you are playing, etc. If they keep the "the game is too easy" people quiet, it's good for the game. I haven't used them myself and have no reason to adjust the difficulty outside of notoriety. I often have to adjust a task force difficulty from mission to mission based on how the missions are going the current team. if the Devs took away a badge that some had already earned, people would be upset. Don't you agree? Is it more difficult now? People were complaining that end-game missions weren't difficult enough. it would be more unfair to take the badge away from characters that had already earned it. People were complaining that end-game missions weren't difficult enough. They got what they wanted. The grass is always greener on the other side, and you can't please everyone. It is much easier for the DEVs to increase the difficulty of higher level missions by handicapping players that recoding enemies to make them more difficult to fight. People were complaining that end-game missions weren't difficult enough. They got what they wanted. You are correct because you don't like it; you probably aren't the only one that doesn't like it. For me, I don't care about the end-game. But I didn't know your post was going there with I first started replying to it.
  5. When the meteor strikes and becomes a meteorite it also deposits fragments into the criminals so that they can be tracked by the Paragon Police Department. The Paragon Police Department then responds themselves (or alerts Longbow) to "pick up" the criminals for incarceration awaiting trial for their crimes. It's really quite simple when you think about it (in a comic book mentality). ... err wait ... -or- The heroes eject a nanite into teach fallen foe from their medical transcoder that was implanted in them by the Paragon City Medical Association when they registered their status as heroes. The medial transcoder itself is normally used to allow the Paragon City Medical Association to teleport fallen heroes to the hospital. Some heroes have been able to program a similar medical regeneration device in their bases and use this same technology to teleport supergroup members to their own supergroup base. The coded nanite that the heroes inject is used by Longbow to teleport the fallen foe into the cells located in a Longbow facility or into the custody of the Pargaon City Police depending up on the nature of the crime. At this point, they either await trial (or breakout) or secreted away to a hidden top secret Longbow facility for holding (or not so secret Longbow facility if they are Rikti and dissection medical testing is performed on them) You may not notice heroes doing this as it is done in what has been unofficially been called "down time". "Down time" generally isn't recorded on combat logs due to it is a rather boring process or situations to observe and is not relevant to any court proceedings.
  6. These days I end up running up and plant a trip mine at the feet of an enemy(s) that are occupied. Teams just run so fast at this point that there is no time to set up a good minefield. Another trick is to set up a mine or two and then teleport an enemy on top of them.
  7. We can all play this game the way we want. It's good to be responsible and try to work with other players. Often times other players don't worry about coordinating and just do their own thing. If there are times that you just want to knock people all over the place, go for it as long as you aren't wiping the hole team or the player with the star complains.
  8. Welcome home! Beam Rifle/devices can work. I have one. Want to try something else? Just make another character. You can make 1000 per server. Alt out! Enjoy!
  9. Back Alley Brawler voiced by Michael Jai White
  10. A Side B Side
  11. Assassins Tsoo Martial arts will play about the same (but with different animations) as long as you pick the same secondary.
  12. I like putting in a devastation chance for hold (adds up to 3 chances to put a hold on your target per minute each). It isn't unique. You can put it in both the T1 and T2 primaries. 6 chances to hold per minute. Also much cheaper than an ATO if strapped for inf.
  13. I have to go with assumptions because you give little to no detials. Assumptions 1) You are soloing. 2) You are not targeting to destroy the mezers first 3) Your are fighting at short distance instead of at max range. 4) You don't have the first two primary powers 5) You are not carrying break frees. 6) You don't have Teleport Target Why do I bring up these assumptions? 1) If you were teaming, you might have a defender with you that can give you status (mez, sleep, hold, etc) protection, or a tank to taunt the mezers and spin them away from you so that you don't get mezed, or a stalker to assassin strike the mezers, 2) If you target to take out the mezer first, then they won't have as much of a chance to mez you. 3) The further away from a mezer, the less likely you are to be mezed. You can out range them. 4) If you are playing a blaster, you can always use your first two primary powers ... even if you are mezed, slept, held, etc. 5) If you are getting mezed too much, obviously you should be carrying more break frees 6) If you had teleport target, you could set up a minefield and teleport the mezer into it or at least use it as a pull to lure them into it. I really need more details before I can give a better answer.
  14. If that's what it is, that's what I'm referring to. I don't really ever bother with it as I'm never in that situation. I'm a Franken-slotter when it comes down to it.
  15. Okay. Just went to Stephane Peebles in Striga with another player. We both went to Stephanie Pebbles who gave us her first mission to hunt down 5 council. We completed the 5 arrests and went back to Stephanie. And .... contact goes inactive. Didn't even level. I would call that an open arc that closed due to outleveling. Usually this happens to me during an arc, and I will continue to post about it I guess, because it happens to me all the time. However, I will note that none of the Inactive contacts on the character I'm currently playing are showing the open arc icon.
  16. okay, so how do you open that story arc book?
  17. It's a matter of perspective, experience, power choices, enhancement slotting, and game-style preferences. They are all meant to be balanced. The balance becomes increasingly obvious as you fill a team to 8. Solo, there are obvious differences especially if you are rating archetypes based on damage per second (aka DPS). In this case, there is even DPS variations within an archetype based on the powers picked and how they are enhanced to the extent that it may change their standing in regard to DPS versus other archetypes based on their powers picked and how they are enhanced. I'm a character conception player so I avoid the cookie-cutter. Overpowered or underpowered isn't really an issue to me. I just like exploring the game and the power sets and figuring out things that I can do with the powers that we have access to. We each play the game the way that we - hopefully - enjoy it the most.
