  1. Guidance Counselor Jones brings up "Wentworth's Fine Consignments". Might as well go ahead and say "better known as the auction house" and that "The auction house can be accessed anywhere outside of missions by using /ah." Everyone seems to be using the term auction house or just "ah" when I'm on-line. His note on the wall should mention accessing the auction house by /ah as well. The talk to dialog with this contact would be a good place to explain how the auction fee works.
  2. But now I'm at Professor Topffer ... he talks about the sets, so maybe even referencing uncommon, rare, and ultra rare recipes and sets doesn't even need to be mentioned by Professor Taylor. That would also cut down on his verbiage. move the: Yellow = Uncommon Orange = Rare Purple = Ultra Rare ....to Professor Topffer's dialog. too tired to rewrite this part now. But it needs a bit of tweaking.
  3. University - Professor Taylor's first speech. "My class is about Recipes. I talk fast and brief, listen and learn. Like your Enhancement and Salvage inventory, you now have a Recipe Inventory, which you can find by clicking on your Recipes tab next to the Salvage tab. Recipes have different Rarities as shown by the color of their name. Common are White, Uncommon are Yellow, Rare are Orange, and Ultra Rare are Purple. Recipes are dropped at random by defeating mobs or as mission rewards and can only be used once. You can buy Common Recipes off the Workbenches if you don't want to wait for the drop. You'll need Influence, though, and a spot in your Recipe inventory. You can carry the Common Recipe around with you or make it right away, if you have the fee and Salvage needed. As you build, once you meet the requirements, you can acquire Badges that allow you to 'memorize' any Common recipe, depending on how many builds the Badge requires. Once a Common Recipe is memorized, it will appear under the Memorized tab in your Recipe Inventory. There are five badge tiers, broken down by Recipe Level and Type. Each Recipe tells you what it requires to 'build' it such as Salvage Components and Influence for the Workbench fee. Your Recipe Inventory size starts out at a certain size, but grows larger as you increase in Security Level. If you're making an Enhancement, you can 'mouse over' the Enhancement Icon and you'll see a tooltip that gives you more information about that Enhancement. Tooltips can be enabled or disabled, so if you have it disabled you may want to go into your Options and enable them again. For other types of Items, additional text is displayed to show you exactly what the Recipe will build. So here is your assignment: go over to that Research Terminal on the Circulation Desk counter and do some research on Recipes. Print off your search results and come back to me when you're done. I'll be able to see it in your eyes whether or not you researched Recipes or tried to find DJ Zero's home address instead." Really needs better paragraphing. "My class is about Recipes. "Players now have a Recipe Inventory, which is somewhat limited at first, but expands as players increase in Security Level. Recipe Rarities are identified by color: White = Common Yellow = Uncommon Orange = Rare Purple = Ultra Rare You can buy Common Recipes on the Workbenches, if you have the Influence and room in your Recipe Inventory. There is additional text is displayed to show you exactly what your Recipe will build and what ingredients will be needed." I think some of that info from the teacher's dialog could be moved to this page and/or eliminate the repetition. Possibly... (getting tired ... lost where I did a bunch of rewording) "My class is about Recipes. I talk fast and brief, listen and learn. 4. University - Professor Boram's bookshelf mission. "There are five types of Salvage, but the most common are Invention salvage. There are three different types of Rarity: Common, Uncommon, and Rare. The color of the Salvage piece name as well as information listed in the Information Bar will tell you more about the piece of Salvage you are viewing. You have a slightly limited Salvage Inventory that will expand with Security Levels. You may 'store' your Invention Salvage in Vaults located in Pocket D and around Paragon City. Salvage may be sold at any store or Consignment House in Paragon City. You cannot buy Salvage from stores. Even while you are playing in Supergroup mode, you may still acquire Invention Salvage." I think this needs some reworking/rewording. "There are five types of Salvage, but the most common are Invention salvage. There are three different types of invention salvage Rarity: Common, Uncommon, and Rare. The color of the Salvage piece name as well as information listed in the Information Bar will tell you more about the piece of Salvage you are viewing. Salvage drops when you defeat foes and the salvage type is based on your defeated foe's origin. You can even right click on a foe, click on info, and then click on "Salvage Drops" to see what salvage you may obtain from defeating that foe. You have a slightly limited personal Salvage Inventory that will expand with Security Levels, making sales on the auction house, and by memorizing recipes. You may also 'store' your Invention Salvage in your Vault Reserve. When you open your salvage window, you can click on "Vault Reserve" at the bottom left to open a "Vault Reserve" window. You also access the Vault Reserves located in Pocket D, in various zones, and in some bases around Paragon City. Salvage may be sold at any store or Consignment House in Paragon City. You cannot buy Salvage from stores. Even while you are playing in Supergroup mode, you may still acquire Invention Salvage. You can sell and buy salvage on the Auction House." Something like that. Orange new wording. Old wording struck through.
  5. I can't say that I find it especially fun when I have played it on Homecoming, but I don't have a scrapper. I have a stalker and a brute with kinetic meleel. I'm not a super fan of stalkers. They seem to be more for solo play to me, so it's hard for me to gauge. I only have 10 of them, and that's my 2nd fewest number of the normal ATs. And, well that brings up to Brutes, I only have 2 of them so that is the fewest of any AT characters that I have. (I wouldn't have thought it, but my highest is a tie between blasters and masterminds as 22 each) ...pssst ... put the spreadsheet away ... where was I? So one of those 2 Brutes is a kinetic/radiation melee (the other is savage/electric), so I don't have a lot of experience on brutes. However, I happened to be playing one last night ... completely randomly. Someone else actually randomly picked for me not even knowing the archetype. ... yeah ... back to the ... so I didn't notice any the particularly bad bout the set. It was low level team in the Hollows. It was hit and run tactics. I didn't notice anything especially good or bad about it. I think I really need to make a scrapper to make a good call on it as I really don't play stalkers or brutes very often. I guess I need to figure out a character conception for a kinetic scrapper.
  6. I'm assuming it is some kind of bird that could be a computer issue joke. Not something so silly as it lifts you way up high into the air because it's a crane.
  7. I have a Defender that's Cold Domination/Storm Blast, does that count?
  8. Verve toothpaste - Active Ingredients: Sodium Fluoride 0.24% (w/w) ... just saying ... @jprewitt73 But, wow,I knew there were those against the water fluoridation, I didn't know they were against fluoride in toothpaste.
  9. I actually ran into someone at one point that said that they had done that. I'm not for grinding myself.
  10. No "Freem" for you!
  11. If you run DFB, it drops SOs at your level. I would hate to say grind for them, but that is one method. Also, go and hunt around on the /AH. Sometimes you can find really good deals on SOs. Why would I say that? I put all the SO's that I don't use on the market for 1 inf and, honestly, I /ah most of the ones that drop my characters. If I can't slot it, I put in on the /AH. Sometimes, I even buy some and put them on the market.
  12. Another reason to lead teams. You lead teams, you get the boot. Others may not like it but if someone is misbehaving or ruining your gaming experience you can ask them to leave as team leader or give the the boot. If you are on a task force, this should be used very sparingly, but on a door mission team? Yeah, sure. You can pick and choose who you play with. "I'm sorry, but your FX are to busy for me. I'm running a team with less FX going on. If you want to use a costume slot to tone it down a bit, you can stay on the team. Otherwise, it is time for you to look for another team." But there is also the way that I have posted to turn most of the FX off. But, yeah, I like seeing my FX to, and it is a shame when I have to turn off the FX because one or more other players are turning the screen into an epileptic seizure inducing light show or a blinding ball of white.
  13. I can't say that I do anything "just for the rewards". I'm not a grinder.
  14. Fans bid farewell to life-size Gundam statue https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/news/20240401_22/ Fans of Japanese anime "Mobile Suit Gundam" have gathered in Yokohama, near Tokyo, to say goodbye to a life-size statue of the robot after which the sci-fi series was named. About 1,500 people attended an event on Sunday night to mark the end of the robot's display at Yokohama Port. The 18-meter-tall figure has functional joints. Since its display began in December 2020, the robot has become a symbol of the port. The display period was extended twice, with more than 1.75 million people coming to see the figure. The series's chief director Tomino Yoshiyuki said Gundam resembles a large Buddha statue, and building it was an engineering experiment. He said he is grateful for the huge staff who helped realize the project. Gundam moved its fingers and legs one last time. Visitors applauded when fireworks were launched and 1,000 drones aligned to form images of Gundam and other characters of the anime in the sky. An 8-year-old boy from Yokohama said the figure is impressive and he wants to see it again. A university student from Niigata Prefecture said he was deeply moved, and he wants Gundam to be shown again. The robot will be dismantled at the port.

  16. He has a heart made of mustard. Statesman has met his match.
  17. Suppress doesn't solve the problem. /macro fx0 "noparticles 1" /macro fx1 "noparticles 0" noparticles does!
  18. People really need to understand that they are ruining other players play experience. I really hate all-white FX. It is just rude. My eyes can't take it. They might as well be shining a spotlight at my eyes intentionally. you might see some trying to sell you on supressfx and what not, but that isn't going to do it. what you need is /macro fx0 "noparticles 1" /macro fx1 "noparticles 0" The first one turns the particles off immediately. The 2nd one turns the particles back on, but it doesn't return them completely until you zone. You can't see your effects either, but you definitely can see the enemies on most teams. Warning: there are still some FX you will see. Warning: when the particles are turned off, you can't see the bubbling goo in the last part of DFB. (One would think that you wouldn't have to turn of VFX in there, but sometimes ... someone just has to make all their powers as white as possible! My eyes! argh!)
  19. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Winter_Lord https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Winter_Horde I know they aren't around all year long*, but the Winter Horde does seem to be an ice-based faction. *Unless you put them in AE missions. Then you can fight them any time of year.
  20. After I read what the others had said, I tracked this down on the wiki "Defense Tags and Stacking Defense bonuses carry tags as well, to specify what styles of attack they work against. Each Defense bonus applies only versus attacks whose tags match one or more of its own. There is one additional type of Defense bonus called Base Defense, or DEF(Defense), which applies against all attacks regardless of tagging. Every time an attack is made against a target, the game checks the target's total Defense bonus against each of the attack's tags separately. Once the game has those separate totals, it uses only the best one in its calculations that determine whether the attack hits. The important result of this rule is that, for any given attack, Defense buffs only stack when they all have one of that attack's tags in common. However, for attacks that have multiple damage types (e.g., Cold and Smashing), only the defense for the damage type which makes up the majority of the power's damage used in the calculations. Example: Deflection Shield gives a Defense bonus against Melee Attacks, Smashing Attacks, and Lethal Attacks. Glacial Armor gives a Defense bonus against Energy Attacks and Negative Energy Attacks. A Tanker with both these buffs is ambushed by a nasty Council Vampyri who tries to hit her with Siphon Life. That power is tagged as a Negative Energy Attack and a Melee Attack. Our Tanker will only be protected by one of her two Defense buffs. Lucky for her, it will be whichever is larger." - https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Defense
  21. Phase shift is better used in advance. I can't remember if it has interrupt time or not at this point (it has been nerfed a couple of times), but you can't use it when you are mezed. I alway carry one column of resist effects insps on squishies. I'm thinking if you are able to nuke everyone in a mob, you will probably have enough time to get into phase shift if you click it immediately. That being said, I've never tried it. Other characters the are phase shifted can attack you. (at least as far as I know, but it has never happened to me) You are invulnerable to attacks from non-phase shifted characters. I only ever used phase shift on a katana/super reflexes scrapper that I had before the sunset. When I used phase shift, I used it along with invisibility (which is no longer part of the concealment pool) to stealth to the end of missions. Back then, phase shift lasted much longer as well. I don't have an characters on Homecoming with Phase Shift yet. "Although this power is a toggle, you cannot remain Phase Shifted for more than 30 seconds, even if you still have Endurance." - https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Concealment#Phase_Shift Enough time to get away, but not enough time to stealth with it to the end of a mission in one shot.
  22. Well, it sort of says what it is. Melee defense only defends against melee attacks (oddly enough, some attacks that seem to be melee are actually ranged attacks) Ranged defense only defends against ranged attacks. FX based defenses say to Fire, energy, etc. Only defend against that damage type (not regulated by being ranged or melee). If an attack is a ranged fire attack, both ranged defense and defense vs fire would stack. Same for melee. You can get defense vs AoEs as well. I'm unsure if that stacks with ranged and melee, but it would stack with say defense vs fire.
