I’ve done it twice. The first time I did it with a team of 4 on my badge toon. The other time I only remember because it is only the second time I’ve recognised someone from the forums, as I think @Ukase was there (the only other time I’ve seen a forum person was with @Snarky’s brute on a PuG).

I’ve just hit 50 on my WS and Shadow Slip made me realise how much I love Fold Space, being in the middle of it all, but hate being mez’d. So I’m going to try an Ice/Ice tank with Fold space, or an ice/elec tank with teleporting as the gimmick. I also finally want to try out Elec affinity as I’ve teamed with some really good elec buffers and wanna see how it plays. I’ve noticed a distinct lack of buffers on PuGs recently, I only have a kin corr, and wanna try something else. On @Uun’s point, that Bobby arc is top tier. The PPD mission is a laugh. I’ve just completed the Schorr one too but for some reason the clues haven’t completed or been removed from my tab so still have one lingering.

My dream on live was that the morality system was fitted to some of the older content and you get different outcomes/badges/temps depending on your morality… For example, posi 2’s would revolve around his zombie tech; Hero: Turn Dr Vahz in - unlock a police drone summon temp because PPD are grateful Vigilante: Turn him, but steal his methods - revive ally temp power Rogue: Steal his tech - self revive temp power Villain: Steal his tech, sell some to Arachnos, but begin your journey to becoming a new Vahz leader - Zombie summon power where they look like Vahz zombies but are very weak clones of you (balance required) In this scenario on a Posi 2: A full hero could do get the hero or vigilante rewards A vigilante could get hero, vigilante or (reduced amount of casts) rogue rewards A rogue could get (reduced amount of casts) vigilante, rogue, or villains rewards And a full villain can’t do a posi 2.

Genuine question: does ‘new’ players count as returning players? When I came back I had no idea about all the changes, it felt like a new world, and found it very helpful to get a nice explanation/ the FAQs. Also, and I’ve spoken about it before, but it isn’t hard to find more potential returning players. I just search on twitter for “City of heroes” and find the people saying how sad they are that it’s gone and tweet em something like “If you didn’t know, there are fan run servers out there. Some with new content too. Homecoming is the most populated! Enjoy!”. The news hasn’t spread as far as you think, and about 90% of the time it’s a positive reply.

I'm not really a farmer so this is all conjecture... My guess is that S/L and fire don't have a huge secondary effect which impacts farming speed (bar DoT, which can be healed against). Cold's slow is going to really hinder your damage output, therefore removing XP/Inf per min. It is probably why people don't do loads of First/Night Ward missions, cos the debuffs are too heavy. Same with Psi. Energy's stuns might rack up (no idea how many bone smashers you'd need to stun a brute). Could go on but you get the idea 🙂

Would love more Nictus missions. Always loved the idea of Arakhn heading to the Rogue Islands to try out her scheme again. Or Longbow/Wyvern using the international waters loophole to do experiments, things going awry, and it ending up very locked off from the rest of the world as LB and Arachnos stop them from spreading. Have em trying to terraform the island into their homeworld. -
I tried so many Doms on Live. I could never make it work. From memory: a fire/ice, a fire/psi, a plant/thorns, a fire/thorns, gravity/energy, fire/energy... None stuck. I've tried a couple of doms here: plant/fire, fire/energy again, elec/stone, and I like the idea of a gravity/psi but can never get the build right. Side note: I teamed with @Dahkness' Grav/Psi, with both Fold Space and Wormhole, and it was great. Strong combo in the right hands. Of my two 'mains' on HC, one is a Dom: Plant/Psi/Ice. I didn't get Doms cos I used to run controllers on live. Once you forget you don't need to buff, once you have domination up you don't need to worry about being overwhelmed or mez'd, you don't really need to care about your teammates tbh... Your job is to dominate those enemies. Everyone has had that +2 Yin where the ambush is coming and someone clicked the computers and like 4 of the team die cos it is a crush. I remember being on the Dom as that happened. Only me and the other Dom survived the wave. Just lots of confusing, creepers, holds, everyone was held/dead/dying, immob'd Clamor out of the way so she couldn't see us. Neither of us was 50, we had some sets, but it was just really fun. As the mobs died, the team revived. Every TF I do someone will say "Seeds with Domination is so broken". It is. Roll with it. You'll never need a tank again. Who needs taunt when they're fighting each other. I've tried quite a few masteries on my Planter, both on the game and the test server: scorpion shield, soul, psi (psi was my second favourite, partly for theme) and fire. @MoonSheep is right: Ice is brilliant. Sleet is a mob killer and a debuffer, you get at least 1 defence buff and maybe a survivability buff. I can see why you might want Psi. It didn't work for me though as robots already resist one of my sets and cold helped that. If its about gameplay then go whatever and enjoy it, but that was my thinking 🙂

Number 2, on your map, below Sharkhead, could be a Coralax/water themed land/ chuck in some Snakes too. Sort of a redside Croatoa. All magic and monsters. Have Stheno's first brood laid there. Arachnos have 1 boat base there, between the two islands, there's a zone event to defend it. Kind of like the end of the most recent Black Panther film, if you have seen it. They used to have a lab there as they were looking for some 'McGuffin' to help with the Arachnoid production, as it is close to where Stheno found the Well, so there are some mid 30s underdeveloped Arachnoids (basically, capitalise on the unique enemies of Redside). -
On the odd occasion I've done it I'll either use my Plant/Psi/Ice Dom or my Fire melee/Rad brute. I can do pretty good support on an S/L on my Water/Kin corr too. Creepers on the asteroid map is... something to behold, but that was before the aggro changes. They used to just rush the bramble pile and straight into some rains.

One day I'll do a +4 Synapses. One day. It'll need 3 kins and something with a lot of -res but my god will the end feel like a glorious victory. I have been this leader. I have been sad. It actually put me off Posi 1 for a little while.

I also like the idea of their Kheldian revamp a little while ago. But the shared cooldowns wasn't for me (also I couldn't work out how to get it working on my Mac, because my brain is made of ham, and my old PC is a slog to play). Just quite interesting to see how other servers think about things 🙂

I don't play MMs but I completely see how the level shift should be applied to their pets also. Mostly so MMs can spend less time resummoning and more time buffing the team 😉 My first ever 50 was a Fire/Storm controller. Pre-ED the ✨JOY✨ I had with my little imp army... Their weaknesses didn't matter so much cos 12-15 was a wave of fire. I feel like since we can no longer have multiple pets, summons (on controllers/doms at least) have needed a little survivability buff. They used to be protected by others, now they're exposed. I guess the argument is that we are controlling them away from attacking the summons. I used to love the Fly Trap on my plant dom/trollers but haven't picked it up in ages. The design is amazing but it just felt so weak and slow. I don't have one - just because I haven't found a grav toon that clicked for me - but I love the new Singularity. Whoever redesigned that is a genius. I wish more things had that type of draw power (my biased request would be for the Kheldian lobster form, as thematically they have heavy gravity ❤️). The buff really made The Family a group to be scared of, and not just another "blokes with guns" mob. Love the little WS fluffies. I was dubious about them but now can really tell when they're up. I've dropped the Photon Seekers on my PB as I just... didn't see the point. They need something else. Maybe a similar power to the Ghouls' Death and Glory - where it heals the allies around them - or something. "Light bringer self sacrifice" type thing. Side note: enemy pets - like the Legacy Chain's PooPet - always seem to be tougher and hit harder than player pets. But maybe that's just me. Also, big thanks to @SeraphimKensai for doing these. I always think "what more is there for us to chat about?!" and then you pull it out of the bag with another topic. -

I both agree and disagree with @UltraAlt on a couple of points... @Piecemeal's arc are two of favs in the game. If I see either being advertised then I am in. The Zig mission is brilliant. Tbh, the Zig map is woefully underused. [Side note: I'd love for it to be in a Rogue/Vigil only TF where you release the people you more closely align with and pull a heist/hit job after gathering the perfect 'team'.] When I first came back I had no idea what was going on in First/ Night Ward. I'm not 100% on my lore there, but I adore the challenge of those mobs. Defending the mansion is chaos but great. Strong agree on that arcs should end in an AV/Hero. So often it is just "oh look, a boss level baddie". Length wise, Redside stuff is about right. The 40-50 arcs in GV are pretty good. Badges, AVs, you learn about lore, there's a plot, 4-7 missions and you get some merits, and there's often a crescendo. I'm thinking quite a bit about the conference mission given from Viridian. However I think some of the redside missions really lack a badge for their completion. Mr G and Provost Marchand arcs are fun. Good stories and arcs for me involve: more than 1 enemy type, a level of travelling but not Citi style, EBs/AVs, maps I don't see often, and a bit of a twist (Paragon Protectors are WHAT? Rikti used to be WHO?!).
