If it’s just Mez Prot you’re after, a permadom is fine without RoP. If you’re after more Res then all the power to you 🙂 it’ll work with or without. But I find doms are power and slot tight!

I'd go with ice. Sleet's -res is great. The slow from both rains is a really good as you don't have an AoE immob like the other sets. You get a +def power for a LoTG. A self heal. And if you want, a panic button in Hibernate. Or, as you're gonna be doing a lot of -tohit with the Terrify pet and your secondary, you could do dark for some extra damage, -tohit, and an end recovery power. This is how I felt when trying it out on the test server. "Ooooh I don't like this... Bit overwhelming, hard to get my head around" But I think we'll adjust. As we have with most other changes. Losing my 12-15 imps on a fire controller was terrible but here I am - still playing a 17 year old game - despite it all.

I used to work in the team running the social accounts for one of the big news orgs. The accuracy of this stings.

Was running Fireball’s Night Ward arcs last night on 50+4. Inside instanced missions (where I’d been on the same map as the team before setting) I would say half of the mobs were 50+2. Seemed to be no correlation between certain types of toons, I.E. minion/ lt/ boss, so if there were two groups in a room they would be different levels.

just popping back into this thread… @Manga has been amazing this week trying to help me get my HC launcher running. Everything with the install works fine until the issue @TheHumbleUnicorn had. I since found that my ISP blocked the bit between launching Launcher.app (wine) and the HC Launcher opening. I could fiddle with the ports on my router, but if I go on my phone hotspot, open Launcher, HC launcher opens, go back to normal wifi, then it’s fine. So it’s permissions but not my computer’s, but internet for me! Only spotted this behaviour when I took my laptop into work and it opened fine on that network but not at home. Probably an fire/energy aura sentinel or a fire/psi tank. I really want to like psi melee and always felt the T9 came too late as it’s the showcase, thinking I can probably try it out now and enjoy. And I’m interested to see if I can notice the FA updates, I did a little on the beta but would quite like to see how it goes. edit: also probably /time on a corr. I’ve always found it quite a tight set and the extra slot is handy

The less time I spend on the forum often correlates to me wanting to spend more in-game tbh. I rarely see names I recognise from the forum in the game. It is easy to forget that there are so many more Homecomers just… playing, and it’s so much more than this space. For me, the ‘community’ I loved was in the game, not the OG/these forums. I’ve only really started to use it more as I’ve developed friendships inside HC and we just use it to message about other stuff. So sometimes I struggle to understand how people can get so upset over stuff here. But I know everyone’s situation is different and for some this might be one of their few outlets in life. Regardless, I’m sad that it’s gotten to the point where people log off ‘for good’. I’ve posted the odd stupid thing, many have. We can all agree that it’s getting a bit prickly around here. Maybe the odd break is good for people? Both from the forum and the game, so we come back fresh. I quite often have to remind myself that we wouldn’t interact this way in person, the internet makes us communicate weirdly with none of the cues of every day life.

I consider my tri-form bi-form tbh. I’m using Doom’s cheap soft-cap, fiddled a little and made a bit more £££, atm. Until about 30 I am in a form. Using human really only for Incan/heals/travel/veng. Most of the human powers are mules. Whacking on light form and then smashing in dwarf or shooting in nova. You could remove some of the melee powers and take a couple more mules/mass slot more of the form powers I guess? 6 slot nova with sets and then Franken dwarf would do something. Could slot eye/blast for their in-form use too. It’d work I guess. Might not be able to perma as much maybe?

Ah ok. I will keep testing it to see if the glow appears 🙂 didn’t see it happen at all. However, combined with energy it is very visually loud so I might’ve just missed it

Just had a play on test. Bar a couple of animation things, and the wish that dom made terror better, this is a pretty solid set and could be in live now. I’d recommend pairing with secondary that benefits from dom. Gleam is great. Light show flash fire. I’ve not used Illusion before but this felt very safe and with some power exec location macros will be a winner.

had a little play on my PB to test this. there’s a slight spelling error in the notes: restore and Stygian are 35 to 30. I built this toon to exemp and help out on low-mid range stuff. This is going to make like a bit more confusing! Definitely made my exemping easier. Might have a fighting chance now on the Freaklok hero arc on +4 now 😉 Could I suggest shuffling about a bit? primary: T9 > 28 26 leave as is (having my creepers on my plant dom, for example, is going to make a lot of mobs really easy) secondary: T9 > 32 T8 > 30 and keep the other changes? I do worry a bit about creep. Some sets are gonna be really OP so much earlier.

Managed to crack open my old PC as I couldn’t get the HC launcher working (and broke island rum) on my Mac. To echo @Major_Decoy this is very solo friendly. Running Ill/energy. Played a few levels in the mid teens and now mid 20s. - I’ve never seen Blind’s AoE sleep thing - is there normally a visual cue? (My first illusion toon) - The visuals of gleam are nice but I think it’s the shout animation? Could the gleaming blast throw type animation from PBs be used? Not the energy bit Ofc. - it is a shame that domination doesn’t make Terror any stronger but here we are. It is MVP atm. Currently gleam, blind and wall are the only powers helped by dom (depending on your secondary) - I tried out posi 1. My clone didn’t use PA. But might just be rotation. - Flash feels good. - Theres currently nothing with any -fly, unlike other dom sets, it might be a bit much to give it to spectral wall. But something to think about. I’ll not lie: struggling to get my head around having Phantasm so early, but the levels powers become available is another feedback topic. My biggest criticism is that it’s not live yet.

have spent the last few/several hours going and back and forth sending screen records with @Manga who has been amazing. Sadly, I can’t get it working. We got to “I'm out of ideas then” and I’m gonna call it for today. considering a little factory reset tomorrow to see if that shifts it. Something weird with my permissions. I just wanted to test for once 😭

Hi Manga, I wanted to try and get the HC launcher working for my Mac after being on Island Rum before. It wasn't working well so thought I'd change. I'm on 12.5.1 Monterey. However downloading this and it doesn't work? I can download, it says its installed, but when I try and opened the launcher it just doesn't open up the HC launcher. Any thoughts?

Have finally gotten round to doing this so I can try out the beta server proper. Just realised am on Monterey 12.5.1 so things might be different I guess?

Very much theory crafting (until I fix my loader) but now wondering if it’s worth going Ill/dark to stack the -tohit and because psi & neg aren’t brilliantly resisted. I’m avoiding /psi as I have a plant/psi but it is thematically well suited…
