    Rikti Herding?

Radiation Armor would be great for that, between the damage and taunt aura and energy damage resistance. Just use IOs to shore up the psionic damage hole.
  2. Nah. As long as the source code is out there (and it is, and always will be), City of Heroes will live on in some form. Whether it be Homecoming, CoXG, Rebirth, or a thousand small private servers. Let's face it. City of Heroes is a sixteen year-old video game using 21 year-old code and tools. Many of the people that played the game in 2004 through 2008 are either gone, or have moved on. Quite a few people I know back in 2010 thought that City of Heroes looked and felt dated and refused to play it because of that. In 2020? Forget it. The game will always have its die hard fans, but to expect it to be as popular as it was back in 2004 or even 2009 is naïve.
  3. They're not coming back. The vast majority of players back in April through July were WoW and/or WoW clone MMOG players looking for another WoW clone MMOG to play. When they saw that CoH isn't it, they moved on.
  4. You get it the first time that you run the Mortimer Kal SF. Once you ding level 50, you can hit "Convert" and it will give you a Notice of the Well.
  5. All of those are excellent suggestions that I support, with the exception of #3. It would actually add to my contact list clutter, because every toon I play goes through a specific order of red side contacts from level 1 to 50. Contacts automatically introducing themselves would just lead to a long list of unused contacts, cluttering up the contact list.
  6. Most of the Empathy Defenders were created in April through June by people who only played WoW and WoW clone MMOGs. They wanted to play a "healer" because that's what they always play in WoW and/or a WoW clone MMOG, saw Empathy and went, "Oooooooooh, healer! I'll play that." They made the Empathy Defender, took only their default attack, got power leveled to level 50, and took the full Medicine pool "because that's what healers do." Then they went through all of the Incarnate trials, went "That's it?" and quit. Seriously. I couldn't move through Atlas Park without bumping into an Empathy Defender every ten feet back then, and most of them never took any of their secondary beyond their default attack. Then there was all the "Looking for a healer!" spam in LFG by other people who only played WoW and/or a WoW clone MMOG before.
  7. "There may be a little honor among theives," should be "There may be a little honor among thieves."
  8. Before the shutdown, it was originally planned that Praetorian Marcus Cole would reform and take on the role of Statesman. The vast majority of the world would be lead to believe that Statesman had returned, but a few would know that it was really a reformed Tyrant.
  9. One of the very first things I did when Homecoming started was to remove the Help channel from my chat tabs so I can't speak to Help specifically, but yeah, every once in a while the LFG channel gets a bunch of spam that can drown out actual teaming requests. I am all in favor of this change, so I can remove the General channel from my chat tabs as well when it goes live. :P
  10. Exactly. It felt like a Pain Domination equivalent to me. Electrical Affinity is just bleh. Like blue side.
  11. Take a look here - https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/10506-scrapper-melee-primary-testing-standard-environment/?do=findComment&comment=131244
  12. 20, I believe. My character was level 21 when I used it, IIRC.
  13. The source code is publicly available. Anyone who wants to can easily fork it if they wish.
  14. Yeah, you can go straight to First Ward by using the Teleport to Contact option.

The trick to this is aggro, aggro, aggro. You need everyone to run around the map and aggro the Freakshow destroying vehicles as quickly as possible. I usually bring out my Lore pets, and run around, tossing out Ion Judgement and various AoEs as I pass Freakshow.
  16. Some people claim that the game is too easy now, so let's add some challenge. I propose a new level 45+ co-op Strike/Task Force with Rogue Vanguard as the enemy. The Rogue Vanguard have a new charismatic leader and have been silently re-forming in the background, gathering in strength. Now that they have sufficient numbers and force again, they feel it is time to strike back against both the Rikti and Vanguard. One final push to both rid the world of Rikti (both those who insist on fighting humanity and those who have realized that they were duped by Lord Nemesis and have vowed for peace), and to fight against the Vanguard who they feel betrayed them and humanity. Lady Grey (or some other Vanguard higher-up), recruit the players to protect them and the peaceful Rikti from the Rogue Vanguard. One of the missions should have several ambush waves of Rogue Vanguard, using the ambush AI from the Praetorian content.
  17. Ahhh... I thought you meant that they were out of zone and suddenly appear by the door. Atlas... by chance have you done the same missions? Atlas and Mercy incorporate some phasing tech that sometimes require your teammates to be (or have done) the same path.
  18. Outside of missions, there's little use for Recall Friend between the base code TP exploit, Base Transporter, the Mission Transporter, Team Transporter, and Assemble the Team. Recall Friend is mostly now good for in-missions.
  19. Soloing with many support sets is really hard. I should know, I've soloed with Force Field and Sonic Resonance many, many times from levels 1 to 46. Support sets aren't meant for soloing though... they're meant for teams. Support sets shouldn't be judged on solo performance. On the contrary, Faraday Cage as it stands now will be extremely useful on Rikti mothership raids. Force Field is currently carried by Dispersion Bubble. So a set can be carried by one power. Now whether or not it should, no.
  20. Yep. @Zed has provided a couple of unofficial updated databases on the Mids' Reborn Discord, but as for official updates... It seems to be dead, Jim. I know that there are at least four different CoH: Homecoming character planners in development, but who knows how long before any of them see the light of day.
  21. Just a reminder that raiding of the Rikti mothership will commence in about twelve hours, y'all! I hope to see y'all there.
  22. It means that an official Homecoming Wiki will not just be some abstract concept at some point in the future.
  23. I like it, IMO. It's just as fitting a buff and heal set as Empathy.
  24. As indicated by the original post:
  25. My main is a Beam Rifle/Sonic Resonance Corruptor, so I know about Sonic Resonance. In addition to providing AoE mez protection, it also provides valuable +resistance (which is relatively rare), and -resistance debuffs (which is very valuable). Don't get me wrong, Sonic Resonance is not in a great place, but it's in a better place than Force Field which contributes nothing else of value at high levels than AoE mez protection. Traps, I have never played so that I won't discuss.
