  1. Well, again- extreme is a non-specific descriptor. That descriptor is not really helpful in terms of visualizing numbers- especially since there is not exact number value for "extreme". It varies between sets and even powers within sets. Honestly, I wish they would just get rid of the word descriptors altogether (since they serve no useful purpose and, in fact, are actually misleading) and just openly state the actual numbers. If you want to know precisely how much damage, resistance, defense, etc. any given power provides, you need to use City of Data: https://cod.uberguy.net/html/index.html
  2. @Sovereigne Looking good! Make sure you play around with the auras, too. Those can add a really interesting look to a character.
  3. @Voltmaster Alas, no! I ripped it from the reply a few posts above this one. You'll need to inquire of @Vulpoid , I'm afraid. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  4. Usually just one. Occasionally, two. If it takes more than two, that probably means the power set(s) don't work for me and it's time to move on. The above is with the caveat that I am not an excessive min-maxer. I do consider efficiency, but it's a secondary concern compared to concept/them and what I feel will be fun to play.
  5. I mean... the guy is almost 70 yrs old. Not everyone is as dedicated to physical fitness as Sylvester Stallone. 😁 I reckon they can just fit him with a muscle-suit and give him some cheeky lines. Good to go. πŸ‘
  6. It used to be Beam Rifle / Radiation, for me. But, recently, I tries something just for the heck of it: Fire / Regeneration. Yep. That's right, regen. Now... I've tried regen on scrappers, tanks, and brutes. Regen is often derided as one of the worst armor sets and, while I don't think it's really "quite" so bad as people say, it certainly does underwhelm when compared to the other choices. So, imagine my surprise when I discover that the Sentinel version is actually VERY good. Yeah- I said it. VERY good. This character has an unimpressive resist of about 20% vs everything. His defense is a measley 1.75% (might as well be zero) vs attacks, thanks to hover. And, yet- his absorption barrier and regen rate are so good, I can hover in place and let three enemies that con red to me just wail away, and my hp bar barely budges at all. I actually forgot and left him logged on in the sewers yesterday, when I went to pick up my kid from his gf's house. The toon was getting beaten on by these 3 reds the entire time I was gone (about 70 minutes) and was completely unscathed. Also, his endurance replenishes so quickly I can cycle through my attacks almost non-stop, without worrying about running out of juice. He can be drained/sapped, of course- that's always a danger. But that's just par-for-the-course when playing CoX. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ If you haven't tried regen on a sentinel yet, I do recommend it. πŸ‘
  7. I saw this costume in P.I. today. Not mine, but I really liked it. The aura doesn't show well in a snip. Looks much cooler in person. Anyway, I thought it was a nice, classic, Sliver age comic hero look with a name in theme with the powers:
  8. @Glacier Peak The like is for the top one, with the trench coat- which I love. The combination of pink and black is not one I would have considered, but makes for a surprisingly great effect when combined. πŸ‘ Not as wild about the armored version, tbh- no offense intended.
  9. I have little to no experience with kinetic melee. I would say 30 second is not so bad, except that you stated the mobs are even level, which does sound a bit excessive (and, a bit odd. When I run at +3, the mobs are usually at least yellow or orange to me, and often red and/or purple. But, anyways, that's a bit besides the point). It might help if we could see your build. Are you whiffing a lot? Add more accuracy. Not doing much damage? Add damage buffs. There may be a lot of procs, globals, etc. that can help you. Hard to say without a better idea of what your build is like. Having said that, I'm no build guru, myself- although I'm happy to help however I'm able.
  10. @Sovereigne I actually think this costume is really cool looking. I dunno, maybe you just need to switch up to a brighter color scheme? Try playing around with different colors in the costume editor. Maybe you'll find something that is more appealing to you.
  11. Well, the game is broken at high lvls, thanks to persistent power creep. Characters have become so powerful at that level, that support AT's feel superfluous. The fix would be across the board nerfs, which are neither possible nor practical, because: 1) The majority of the players base, which loves their steamrolls and OP'ed munchkitoons, would riot. But, more importantly... 2) The scope of work to do all of those nerfs to properly balance the game, would not be practical given the present size of the development team. So, what is the answer? I don't know. For me personally, I've decided that the answer is concentrating on enjoying mid-level play and forgetting about end-game content.
  12. The only ones I've used are the mighty and ion ones. Each is a potent AOE that does hundreds of damage (something like 250 to 350, iirc) to everything within range. The ion one is particularly effective, as it can jump to a lot of targets. Given how ridiculously powerful fully IO'ed characters are at lvl 50+, it may not seem like that big of a boost to you. I would say it's just more power creep heaped upon already excessive power creep. Then again, this is why I'm concentrating on play the lvl 30's, these days. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ I suppose what constitutes balance is somewhat subjective, in any event.
  13. @zillakilla18There you go: https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Emotes EDIT: And yes, you can put them in a macro.
  14. I love this one. Best cyborg gorilla, ever! πŸ‘
  15. As long as they're properly balanced, sure. Although, I tend not to think of Scrappers has having SS. Cage comes to mind, maybe- though I tend to put him in "Tank" category, b/c of his Titanium hard skin. Spidey probably fits the archetype, as others have pointed out. I know there are others that could theoretically fit the mold of a SS scrapper. Really do need to be very careful about how rage interacts with Scrapper crits, though.
  16. Only if those hair styles are called The Queen Bey, The Dolly Parton, and the Farah Fawcett. Otherwise, I vote yes. πŸ˜πŸ‘
  17. Can't nerf hasten. Too many power-gamers (most of the player base) would have an apoplexy. I really like SeraphimKensai's suggestion about building "mach points" to boost other powers in the set. Cool concept. The vibration power idea is cool too, but somewhat built into the new superspeed updates already, with the semi-intangibility thing. But, yeah- hasten really does need a nerf. Since that won't fly, I suggest boosting all mob recharge rates by 50%, 😁
  18. What JJDrakken said. πŸ‘†
  19. Worst? Probably characters built mostly around pool powers or Petless Masterminds. Those are theme builds people tend to do on a lark or for a challenge. Sentinels are also widely regarded as poor performers, though I very much like them, myself. There are very few truly "bad" AT's/Powersets in CoX. You kind of have to work at it to make a "bad" character, IMO. This game is really quite easy, once you figure out the basics, so you don't need elite builds, unless you want to tackle AE 801 missions. Others will have very different opinions on this, than myself, of course- so YMMV.
  20. I love this! *Hugs imaginary power set* ☺️
  21. Also, the base update, as promised. Finally finished the Portal Network, as well as the Hall of Heroes, Reactor Room, and Arcane Science lab. I've started (barely) working on the Mess Hall. Hoping to have a fully completed and outfitted base, within a week or two!
  22. Heh. Missed this post, initially. Go figure. πŸ˜›πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ We're based out of Boomtown and there's a big Council Base there, that manufactures War Walkers, so I reckon those guys will be our #1 recurring "canon" villain group. I think it would be cool to make custom council troops of various kinds that go with the theme- as well as notable elite bosses and such, with custom power sets. Apart from that, I'd love to see what kind of villains and/or organizations you come up with on your own. I don't want to put any restrictions on your creativity, except to remember that we are a middle- to upper-middle- lvl group and that as vigilantes/rogues, we are "basically" good guys that work outside of the bounds of the law. Probably most members are not registered with the FBSA- or have at least gone underground/off the FBSA's radar. This means we will be willing to take on missions that the more "good-two-shoes", mainstream heroes would balk at.
  23. Yep, that's kind of (more-or-less) what I was getting at, I guess. πŸ‘
