  1. Well, if you happen to pick HEAT as your AT, you aren’t given the option of doing the tutorial — you’re just dumped directly into Atlas Park in front of the PB or WS contact. I could see suggesting that ATs are marked with a Challenge Rating suggestion for beginners. Possibly even showing them for Power Sets as well. Not sure about the costume creator complaint. Yes it’s quirky. Without completely revamping it, I don’t see what can be done. I guess if a new player wants to make an awesome, unique costume in 30secs, it’s an issue. I don’t think it’s the end of the world that you might spend an hour just meandering through it the first time. As for Level 1s getting stuck in steel canyon hospital, I’m less sympathetic. Getting ganked by mobs now helps build valuable situational awareness for later. How to spot dangerous mobs. How to avoid dangerous mobs. How to outrun dangerous mobs. How to ask in /help for help getting out of Steel Canyon at level 1. Who knows, maybe at some point they’ll realize that the numbers after the zone names on the Train destination list are suggested level ranges?
  2. Oh yeah, there are macros for effectively having hasten and domination both on auto. I haven’t used them, tbh. But I assume they work like the farming macros that both attack and convert all your inspirations to reds. YMMV.
  3. Hard to figure out what the best would be for your needs. Is there maybe a character from another game that plays in a way you like? Anyway… If you’re having END issues, it’s usually a build problem. Most ATs and sets have their issues sorted by level 20 or so. You can probably get help on that in the builds forum or in discord. As for Mez protection, you only really need KB protection because KB is common from 1-50. Blessing of the Zephyr, Karma, and Steadfast Protection are cheap and do the job. For everything else, it’s just not as needed. If you’ve got controls or big damage you can typically neutralize any other threat before it controls you. On my guys without Mez protection, I’m generally much more concerned about -recharge, -recovery or -damResist than about holds and such. You can go permadom without hasten. It’s awesome, although is typically a more expensive build. Or just put dom on auto and just live with it not being up 100%. I’ve done permadom with and without hasten, and also non-perma dom. It all works. Inability to solo bosses again sounds like a build issue. Or an expectation issue. Hard to say. I can’t speak to boringness or lack of engagement.
  4. I was thinking about this a little more and found this. If I like the bio/name/costume, then I’m more likely to shelve the character until I can find a better build, or delete and recreate as a different AT or power set. If I like the powers but not the RP aspects, I’m more likely to just delete the character.
  5. Abandon during character creation? Hell yeah. Typical level range to abandon? Usually in the 8-30 range. But I’ve deleted 50s before. I’ll often just shelve them, in case I change my mind, find a better build, etc. But I have no problem stripping & deleting them. I do go back and revisit abandoned characters occasionally. Sometimes it’s even successful.
  6. Another suggestion to make Posi1 just a tad less chaotic… Clear the area in front of the city hall doors before you rescue hero #4. The ambushes only trigger when you get close to the doors after you’ve rescued all the heroes.
  7. Yule Log Out — Warm up in front of the cheery fire pit in the winter chalet, without pressing any keys or clicking the mouse for a few minutes to activate!
  8. To be more specific, it [slow resistance] is a global and so works like a set bonus. It’s always in effect regardless of whether you’re using the power it’s slotted in — or even have the power available — as long as you don’t exemp more than 3 levels below the level of the enhancement. I just always have the wiki page open that tells what category the special enhancements are. So I know whether the enhancement needs to be attuned or not based on where I’m slotting it.
  9. Although you were asking about passive procs in powers you got for free… It occurs to me that if you were a peacebringer or warshade, you get a bunch of travel powers, for free, that other ATs do not. I think they take the same sets as the normal flight, hover, teleport, etc. You could drop a Scaling Resistance or Global Recharge in the Hover power. Can’t think of anything else useful that would be relevant when you weren’t using the power. Of course, you’d have to be a Kheldian. And they are already notoriously strapped for enhancement slots if you plan on using more than one form.
  10. I don’t think the tiki bartender does, but the bartenders in the monkey area in the blue half do.
  11. Technically, this is a trial, not a task force. AFAIK, all trials have the “roster scrambling” bug, from Death From Below to Incarnate Trials. This isn’t specific to this trial. Second, if you see someone shout “here”, you can just click their name in the league roster and they become your current target. Just type f to auto follow to their current location.
  12. Just seems to me I would have seen a build long before now, if you could slot the Absorb in Rest.
  13. Brawl takes melee damage sets, which has no globals (“passive procs” as you call them). The sprints don’t take Universal Travel sets where all the globals are. The sets they do take have procs which only work while the power is toggles on. Swift and Hurdle don’t take sets, so nothing useful there. Health and Stamina are auto powers, so there are several procs that work, and any global works too. The only thing I can think of you might be able to take advantage of (and can’t confirm this from work) would be if Rest took Heal sets, you could put the Preventive Medicine Chance to Absorb in it. I believe that is a global (ie, acts like a set bonus) and doesn’t require you to be using the power to gain its benefits. But honestly I’ve never thought to try it out to confirm one way or the other.
  14. A lot of WoW and FFXIV. A fair amount of Conan, Secret Worlds, Lord of the Rings Online, Elder Scrolls Online, Guild Wars 2, EverQuest, and some Russian MMO where you play a divinity or immortal or something. Dipped a toe into Path of Exile and Diablo III. I still log in to FFXIV, EQ, GW2, ESO, and LotRO on occasion. I miss WoW’s graphics, but for now have no plans to return. I’ve run through the tutorial zone of Conan maybe 5-6 times, but never graduated out of it.
  15. No, it's the NW corner of the zone. Starting by the El Super Mexicano W of the Perez Park gate, goes W to the corner, then N to the corner, goes W about 10ft, then turns around and retraces it's steps.
  16. There's a long parade of NPCs snaking back and forth. The path is roughly [1898.6 -0.5 -6491.9] [1504.2 -0.5 -6507.3] [1488.3 -0.0 -7602.0] It's the usual noncombat citizen NPCs -- no faction tag, no info, etc.
  17. The obvious solution is to write a thinly veiled threat (ostensibly signed by Dr Aeon) demanding that Arachnos change its logo to the Horned Bull. Which, as everyone knows, is way cooler. And presto! Next server reboot, you’re back to wearing the snazzy new bovine Arachnos logo!
  18. PSA: now’s a good time for getting those defeat badges for nighttime spawns, like ghost pirates. As long as the perma night holds out, I guess.
  19. So according to City of Data, it looks like there are 2 different effects that affect flight responsiveness -- MovementControl and MovementFriction. Power MovementControl MovementFriction Fly 2 2 Hover 25 25 Evasive Maneuvers 15 15 Combat Jumping 10 0.2 I think MovementFriction must have to do with how responsive the power is. Like, if you release the Forward button, how quickly you come to a stop. With just Fly on, you tend to drift quite a bit. If you have Fly and (Hover or Evasive Maneuvers), you come to a stop almost immediately as soon as you stop pushing a movement button. Hover and Evasive Maneuvers feel about the same to me in this regard. Having Fly and Combat Jumping on at the same time, I haven't noticed any difference with Fly movement at all. Combat Jumping is great for proc mules and globals, because it costs almost no endurance. But it's not really much of a travel power, IMHO. I'll generally take Fly and Hover if I want Fly as a travel power, and especially if I want to Hover a lot. I typically only take Evasive Maneuvers when flight is central to character concept, and I need another LotG mule, and either I already have Stealth, or can't afford to pick Stealth up for other reasons. Stealth is usually more effective for keeping me alive than Evasive Maneuvers, in my experience.
  20. Generally, my character names are generally bad puns (Violent Beauregard), fun to say (Rococo Coconut Crab), or generic (Alley Puma). The only one I can think of that would qualify as bombastic would be Rockets Redglare, my ultra-patriotic Mercs/Thermal MM, with (almost) all of his costumes in red white and blue. The mercs in his squad are named Shipwreck, Junkyard, Mutt, Barbecue, etc.
  21. And technically, World of Confusion, I think it is called. The PBAOE toggle that does a low magnitude confuse with near-zero damage. Enough damage to aggro, but not enough to kill anyone during your lifetime 🙂
  22. Can’t forget Warshades’ Orbiting Debt!
  23. If I’m building on autopilot… in health, the panacea, miracle, and numina uniques. In stamina, the power transfer and performance shifter uniques plus an attuned EndMod enhancement for whichever set bonus seems more useful. the preventive medicine unique is something a lot of my builds will try to fit in. But since it’s a global rather than a proc, there are often better places for it than stamina. Or I’ll be going for the 8.75 recharge bonus in some other power and will need 6 slots anyway.
  24. I’m fairly okay with the currencies as they are now. I wouldn’t shed a tear if the swapped the Incarnate Shard items for equivalent Thread items. It seems like I can unlock an alpha using threads way easier and cheaper than by using shards. I’m okay with prismatics as is. Be nice if they were easier to get in game — especially for the under 50 crowd. Or if the costumes were cheaper. Also be nice if you could preview them in game too.
