There are two statues in Nerva with plaques at their bases. Locations [-82.7 50.5 5438.8] and [103.1 50.0 5254.0], roughly. (The first location is right near the Watcher on the Knoll exploration badge.) When you hover the mouse over the plaques, the cursor turns into a hand, as though you could click on the plaque. But clicking on the plaque has no effect. Should bring up the plaque text (best) or not turn into a hand cursor implying that it's clickable.

Woot! Closed it out a 2nd time!

Oh, boy, do I love Bonfire with KB >> KD! I have it on my Beast/Nature MM, and my Fire/Psi Blaster, and maybe one or two others. Watching the lionesses go to town on flopping bad guys just cracks me up. And while it is thematically appropriate for both demons and fire, I might try Scorpion Shield first. Maybe. Easy enough to respec out Scorpion Shield for Bonfire.
-
Here's a newer try... Took some of JJDrakken's slotting ideas. Ditched Bonfire for Scorpion Shield. Swapped Sorcery pool for Flight. Defense(38%) and Resist(33%) went up at the cost of Global Recharge(56%). And I got a third attack, Air Superiority which ought to fill in dead space in the rotation. Looks like it's closer to 28% resist(all). There appears to be a bug in Mids where the pet 15% resist(all) bonus from Superior Mark of Supremacy is being treated as applying to self, rather than the pets. Was wondering how I gained ~28% resist (s/l) just from reslotting the 3 Summons and Hell on Earth....
-
So far I haven’t found thermal very busy, but I’m only L16 so far. I don’t recall it being busy. But wow, jjdrakken’s build has 45% def(s/l) and 45% res(s/l). Mine has around 15 in each. I’m sure it makes a huge difference in play. Clearly his slotting choices make a big difference in getting those resists and defenses up. I’d be giving up Bonfire, too. Which is another favorite and provides fun safety.
-
Wow. Never thought of taking zero attacks at all. It never occurred to me folks would even do that. Do you just manage the pets and buff/debuff? Do you bother with the p2w attacks like Sands of Mu and Brawl? I'll have to ponder on that a bit... One thing's for sure, JJDrakken, your build looks way more survivable. Guess I need to choose between survivability and cool-looking attacks 😕 Even in my original build, I could probably afford to move 1-2 slots from Cauterize to Heat Exhaustion to add some Accuracy.

So this is kind of what I've got planned for my Demons/Thermal MM, and I'm up for advice on slotting, power selection, or both. I've largely optimized for pet survival and global recharge. Not sure if Sorcery is the way to go, with Mystic Flight, Spirit Ward, and Rune of Protection. I could swap them out for, say, Hover, Air Superiority, and Group Flight. Gets me travel powers that affect the pets, and one more personal attack. Or could pick up Fighting. I know my def/res are pretty low, but don't think adding Tough/Weave will get me much farther. Or taking Boxing/Kick/CrossPunch to give me more attacks will make much difference. I'd prefer to keep Lash and Crack Whip, just because they're so cool looking. Fair enough. It's not like clicking on that plaque will prevent folks from getting the Disciple badge. I noticed it because I do all the exploration and history badges in tiers. I'd noticed that the plaque count from VidiotMaps didn't match the progress bars. But when I'd visited all the plaques in the zones, I got Disciple anyway. Just took me a while to remember this and care enough to track it down.
-
Boomtown Plaque #2 is listed as a Disciple plaque in both VidiotMaps and Badger. It (currently) is not required for this badge. The progress bar correctly tracks X of 6, not X of 7. This plaque is described as "Boomtown-2648.0 5.0 3055.0 ". Not sure how to get this info to the owners of VidiotMaps or the Badger site. Or any of the other tools, like the popmenu tracking optimal exploration/history paths by zone.
-
There's a plaque in Boomtown near loc [-2654.1 0.1 3057.3]. Vidiot Maps has it marked as Plaque #2. If you haven't clicked on any Disciple plaques before when you click on this one, it adds the "Learn the history of Hero Corps" progress badge to the Badge >> History tab with no progress bar. If you click on all the other Disciple plaques in Boomtown, Steel Canyon, Skyway, and Faultline/Echo Faultline -- without clicking on Boomtown Plaque #2 -- it correctly adds the "Learn the history of Hero Corps" progress badge and tracks X of 6 for you. And you can get the Disciple badge, again without clicking Boomtown Plaque #2. If it's not the first, nor the last Disciple plaque, clicking it has no effect on the Disciple progress bar. Not sure if the bug is that there's supposed to be 7 plaques for Disciple and that one isn't hooked up correctly. Or there's only supposed to be 6 badges for Disciple and that plaque spuriously adds the Disciple progress bar.

How do you run... Mender Ramiel's Honoree mission?
ZekeStenzland replied to Greycat's topic in General Discussion
Also annoying is that the critical Curse of Weariness debuff icon only shows if you’re not hiding autopowers. So folks who aren’t aware of it might well die from lack of end before they can figure out why they have no end. -
Surge Potential's Guide to the Summer Blockbuster Badges
ZekeStenzland replied to SurgePotential's topic in Guides
The secret to the Hitter badge for part to is: talk to the Disheveled Drifter and teach him to count cards, he'll give a spiel about how easy it is wait for him to talk again. if one of your conversation choices has "lavalier" in it, you talked to him too soon. if one of the conversation choices is something like "go out and hit the tables", that's the one! -
Deities and Demigods and where are they at?
ZekeStenzland replied to The_Warpact's topic in General Discussion
Lol. That was my first thought too! -
As far as I could tell, there's only the 6 sets currently affected by this issue. Other sets either had multiple options at the lowest level or had no overlap between high and low level sets Knockback (1-20, 21-50). I suspect there's also a more trivial way to work around this: just add another 1-30 IO set to affected sets. Then the UI will allow "by category" conversions, and the existing code will (i imagine) occasionally convert to the higher level set.
-
Alas, Carl Kolchak was a reporter, not law enforcement, so probably doesn’t qualify. Much to my disappointment.
-
I think there’s two different things going on. First, I think the rules for whether “by category” shows up in the ui at all is whether there are any legal conversions at the enhancement’s level if it has one, or at the set’s lowest level if it’s attuned. This explains Air Burst and Exploit Weakness. It should probably check against the set’s entire range for attuned enhancements. Second, the rules for converting an attuned enhancement is to choose a random level at the time of conversion and try the conversion. This explains why you can eventually convert a Siphon Insight to a Cloud Senses if you try the conversion enough times.

Converting attuned enhancements by category
ZekeStenzland replied to ZekeStenzland's topic in General Discussion
DO NOT QUESTION ME, HERETIC! IF MY STATEMENTS DO NOT MATCH REALITY, THEN REALITY MUST BE AT FAULT! Hmm, or maybe a little more experimentation is in order... You can convert by category from a high level set to a low level set, as long as they have at least one level in common. Eventually. Just confirmed with the following: Analyze Weakness -> Shield Breaker, 52 tries Touch of the Nictus -> Theft of Essence, 23 tries Siphon Insight -> Cloud Sense, 27 tries Expedient Reinforcement -> Call to Arms, 2 tries Convert by category is not even listed in the UI as an option for these lower level enhancements. Or Air Burst (Targeted AOE Damage) or Exploit Weakness (Sniper Attacks). I suspect this is a different issue, and that whether "by category" is even listed is determined by if there are any legal options at the lowest level of the enhancement, rather than whether it could possibly convert to another set. Note that these 6 IO categories are currently the only ones where a category has multiple sets but only one set covers the lowest level. -
Something I discovered yesterday. Apologies if this is too niche or too narrow or already well known... For purposes of this post, "attuned" here means enhancements without levels, so doesn't cover pvp or vary rare enhancements. So it looks like the way this works is, at the time of conversion, the game chooses a random level in the level range of the enhancement to be converted. If there are no legal conversions at that level, the conversion fails and no converters are spent. If there is at least one legal conversion at that level, the conversion happens as usual and the converters are spent. In general, converting attuned enhancements by category isn't often useful, but there are a few cases where it is useful. In particular, if the category has only 2 possibilities and the level ranges overlap -- even if only for 1 level -- you can convert between the two. Very useful if one of the sets is much more expensive on the AH. Just by the cheap attuned one, and keep trying the convert until it works. Categories with only 2 sets, that overlap: Accurate Defense Debuff (Shield Breaker, Analyze Weakness) Accurate Healing (Theft of Essence, Touch of the Nictus) Accurate To Hit Debuff (Cloud Senses, Siphon Insight) Recharge Intensive Pets (Call to Arms, Expedient Reinforcement) So, a tip for those who want attuned enhancements to slot and for whom the difference between a 2M and 5M enhancement is important. If you're just going to flip it, there's much more efficient ways of doing that.

He gave me a mission ("Attack the Carnival of Shadows") in Atlas Park, while I was in Atlas Park as a Rogue. When I tried to enter the mission, I got the St. Martial/Carnie tents loading screen, then it changed to the Atlas Park loading screen, and dumped me in Atlas Park. I got the following error/feedback messages in my global chat: I was running Combat Ontologist on Indomitable. I was not on a team at the time.

Ditto. Just noticed that yesterday. It used to work. Reveal does work on mission maps inside pvp zones just fine.
