  1. It seems like every week or two we have a discussion about this powerset. It generally comes down to Mass Confusion vs. Seeds of Confusion and Lack of a Pet vs. Mass Confusion makes them all your pets - not really as they fight and I don't get all xp and so on.
  2. I have a Grav/Savage Dom that I've taken to 50 and unlocked all of his incarnates. Frankly, it depends on how you play. I almost exclusively soloed at level until early 40s (permadom) then +1 or +2. team size one doing red side content. That meant I was generally fighting groups of three enemies at range. If you group a lot, you can certainly play the dominator version of a blapper. I personally think your better off doing that as a brute. Melee hits harder and Dominators just don't have the defense. I five slot Lift with the Decimation set into it to add 6.25% recharge time. IMO, with a dominator, all your slotting should be going towards trying to get to permadom. It is very achievable before 50 and it makes a world of difference. At early levels I tried to stay at range which meant I didn't use the majority of savage much. My range attack sequence was generally: Gravity Distortion on the worst enemy, use propel, use lift, then call swarm. Gravity Distortion was generally recharged by then. I went with the idea that I would have one held, propel would generally knock others down. Lift and propel had decent damage when you consider the bonus for having used Gravity Distortion. I also went with the idea if they are flying through the air or getting up they aren't attacking me. I put Ascendency of the Dominator IO set in Gravity Distortion and would regularly stack two or three instances of the proc adding to my damage. You have to take Summon Swarm. I used that after I would do my ranged attack sequence since the activation time is minimal and it built blood. Building up Blood to gives a damage boost and an endurance benefit plus I two slotted it with Entropic Chaos with the Chance for heal proc to add a little more healing and 10% more regeneration at the cost of one slot. It has a minus speed and damage too. I like to use it when an enemy barely had any health left. Call Hawk is great damage especially when you have 5 blood, but even with all the recharge permadom gives you, it is still not recharging as fast as lift or propel. Its a fun take out a minion or a lt at range with one click. I have all powers in Savage except rending flurry as I found the AoE to be small and I think being in the middle of so many enemies is just a way to get into trouble when solo. Now if I'm not using wormhole or Gravity Distortion field I'll generally do the ranged hold on the first one, lift, propel, summons swarm, Feral Charge, then rending fury, Unkindness, maiming slash and vicious to finish off. Next group start with Call Hawk since I have full blood and do it again. In Gravity I skipped Crush, Crushing Field, and Dimension Shift. I played around with Dimension Shift, and it can be a neat power if you get good at targeting it, but considering you have Wormhole that grabs foes without agro, I didn't see needing Dimension Shift solo and I don't see it as that useful with how teams go. Get Spot Prey because blindness stinks. Remember, Blood Craze is not a great healing power, but it isn't bad if you understand to use it early to take advantage of the fact that it is more of a heal over time than one big chunk. Final note, Singularity is going to be your BFF.
  3. Phantom Army
  4. Well, it wasn't up in time. I cleaned the kitchen, got started on the laundry. My Wife was really happy with me. Now, I need to know. Is my wife conspiring with Nemesis? This was a Nemesis Plot to get me to clean the kitchen, right?
  5. Ok folks, I'm going to be home in around 4 hours. The wife and the kids will be home in about 7 hours. My basic understanding of math tells me that gives me around 3 hours to play. No pressure. . . .
  6. Huh? While Singularity is not a great damage dealer, it is an insanely good controller. I've soloed a Grav/Savage to 50 and currently have a 33 Grav/Storm and Sing has made my life much easier. Especially since I don't need to be concerned about ambushes or things coming at me from behind. I've seen Sing hold and control an Elite Boss I wasn't even aware of, and it would have defeated the boss on its own if I was willing to wait to let it whittle things down. If you are looking for damage, Sing is not the best choice, if your soloing and want to control a spawn, it is your best friend.
  7. Thank you! Just hit 24 and went vigilante specifically to do this contact.
  8. I remember reading that there was an only vigilante contact and mission arc. I can't seem to find where I read that. Is it true, and if so, who is the contact? Is that contact automatically awarded to all vigilantes or do you need to do something to find it?
  9. Just leveled a Ill/TA to 50. I only skipped Ice Arrow in TA. Skipped Group Invis and Flash in Illusion. Acid Arrow is great for Procs. I use Disruption Arrow almost every fight. Oil Slick is fun and flammable, I use it for boss fights. I forget I have EMP Arrow generally, but It is useful. Big fights: PA - Oil Slick - Bind (on the boss) - Disruption Arrow - Fireball (or Apprentice Charm) to set off the Oil Slick - Acid Arrow - Bind to now hold the boss - help PA as needed. Spectral Terror is also fun to drop in the middle of enemies.
  10. My understanding is that PA was originally not supposed to do damage and what damage they did was to help them taunt. PA was close to being nerfed, but they allowed the damage to stay in. You could remove damage entirely or make all of it heal instead of just a percentage like Spectral Wounds. Spectral Terror would be overpowered it it benefited from Domination. Personally, would put Wind Control as a higher priority.
  11. When I street sweep for xp and to just relax in PI, I avoid carnie to leave them for whoever gets stuck with that annoying mission from Harvey.
  12. Problem also is I find the solo content in Pretoria a little more difficult than blue or red side. I highly recommend playing goldside, there is some great content. Just make a character that is able to solo well or it will be frustrating.
  13. Low priority, but it would be nice. Dominators take IO sets based on what recharge bonus they give. For ranged attacks, Decimation is the only one that offers recharge time as a set bonus other then the purple set (Apocalypse). Unfortunately, Decimation runs from levels 25-40. Can we, maybe bump that up to 25 to 50 to help bump dominators damage some? Thanks for your consideration.
  14. I've gotten two dominators to permadom in their 40s, and it isn't hard. You do have to make some sacrifices on which IO sets you use to always prioritize recharge bonuses and they can be expensive. If you're not already, take a look at: https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Enhancement_Sets For example, for melee damage powers, I always slot them with Crushing Impact to get the 5% recharge time in the power. (Also why this one is more expensive than Mako's Bite in the AH). Always prioritize getting a recharge bonus in every set you get. Unfortunately, that keeps you from taking things with other or better bonuses. For example, you'll want Decimation in ranged attack powers, but this one only scales to 40. The only other ranged attack with a recharge bonus is purple Apocalypse. (Decimation is also more expensive then Thunderstrike or Devistation). You can select some powers to put in an extra Luck of the Gambler Def/7.5% recharge time. Not a bad idea to add in knockback powers Force Feedback: Chance for +Rech. I wouldn't rely on it but it is great to give you extra time. This can be expensive in Inf. If you plan out your purchases and put in bids before you need the enhancement, you will generally get them cheaper. Also suggest you change your settings on your powers to show a count down as to when they recharge. It helps you prepare to click them as soon as they are up again. Personally, I put Domination on Auto and click hasten. It is possible to make macros to activate hasten for you, like when you push forward. Hope it helps.
  15. Does anyone have experience with this combination and any suggestions? I've just started the character, and I plan to skip taunt and boggle in Psionic Melee, and Probably take everything in Electric Armor but I'm questioning if Power Surge and Lightning Reflexes are worth taking. Just hit 15th, playing PvE and have only increased difficulty to yes for bosses. The character is doing extremely well, just running into some end issues as I try to constantly go from group to group. Going to shift level up one tonight, maybe team size to 2. I like Lightning Field to give a damage aura but I'm unsure how many slots to put into it as it is still minor damage. Any thoughts on epic pools or patron pools? Is it worth taking the teleportation pool and get Fold Space? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!
  16. +1 Put me in the Heck Yes and incredibly frequent camp. (I just don't see continuous as there are stages where it is bombs then the invasion force. It makes sense for me that there be a break to make waves of invasion.)
  17. My experience is very different as I mainly solo. On my two lvl 50 dominators, one grav/savage and the other dark/electricity assault, the pets really help. While both have fire power, both don't have great defense despite being permadoms and IO sets. If I can attack first and set up my controls, easy fight, they hit me first or an ambush, problem. Singularity is a great pet, great controller and it is rarely defeated. I never have to worry about being ambushed with Sing around and have turned around to see it doing well against an Elite Boss. With my Dark/Electric I have 1 pet with that does not expire, umbral beast, and the duration pets with 2 for haunt and Voltaic Sentinel. Umbral Beast has a decent survival and haunt does well, takes an alpha strike like a champ, and can be made permanent. Voltiac Sentinel isn't great but it is more damage and worth the effort to keep summoning it when its duration is up. My 50 Ill/TA Controller always has his Phant up, even with the bugged tactics for it (it should not charge into melee), it helps, and Phantom Army is one of the best powers in the game. I've got a Mind/Psi sitting at 34 right now. It just isn't as fun as the ones I took to 50. I think a pet would help. Mass Confusion is lacking to me. Solo, pets are great. Grouping, they aren't as big of a deal, but, frankly, controllers and, to a lessor extent, dominators main powers aren't that important for a lot of teams due to the speed people go through mobs.
  18. Personally, I like pets and I would like Mind to get one. I have 50s of grav, dark, and illusion. I would rank the pets in that order as well. If Mind is going to stay as it is, then Mass Confusion should be significantly improved to make it far better than plant control's Seeds of Confusion power. It kinds stinks that the thing that is supposed to be your defining power is done better by another power set. Plus, while I think the confuse powers are great, confuse itself is a GREAT single target hold, your still get grief when teaming if you use confuse a lot due to lost xp. (yes, I know the argument that it isn't 'your' damage and that it is speeding you up. When a phantasm or other pet takes something out, xp isn't reduced. Plus, pets absorb alpha strikes nicely, confused enemies not so much.) Now, for a pet, personally, I like the idea of a power that turns a confused enemy into a pet. Maybe hit them with confuse and then you have to hit with another power. (That way controllers can control a boss. Limit on removing it from the mission. Problem is when you have a mission critical person to defeat it cannot be them. Think the Defeat Agent X and his Minions missions where you don't only have to take out Agent X but everyone else in the room) Using that other power again releases it from the first one. Or, a slendermanish nightmare thing would be fun. Maybe based on the scrapper or stalker ATs?
  19. Updated Warriors in Kallisti Wharf? I was expecting the Warriors to be expanded but are we populating the Wharf?!?!
  20. Just a dumb idea that I did on my Grav/Savage Dom, I actually use Call Swarm in my attacks to build blood, but I also added a slot. I did Entropic Chaos for an Acc/Dam and the chance for Heal proc. You could always do Decimation and Chance for Buildup. Also, I found Rending Flurry not to be that great/skippable because it just seemed to have a small AoE for me. With Gravity, would generally wormhole the group into a corner and then pop in with feral charge (now at full blood), use unkindness and clean up with vicious slash and maiming slash.
  21. I so appreciate power tray locking! Thank you so much for all that you are doing!
  22. I'm going to go with 43 billion inf. Just a shot in the dark.
  23. Thank you all for all of your hard work making this game better with every update. I really appreciate you and cannot wait to play my Illusion/TA Controller tonight who uses Arcane Bolt too much. The badge tip missions are just such a neat and creative addition. Thank you!
  24. When you pull up your team information display, you can see everyone's health and stamina. If you click on the triangle, you can see icons for what effects are currently on each of your teammates. At mid levels and beyond there will be a ton of small icons. Included among them are icons that can tell you if your teammate is held or stunned. Considering the chaotic nature of teaming, it is hard to notice those icons or notice when a teammate is under a status effect so to know when to use a power to break that effect on them. I think it would be more helpful that instead of all the small icons, have it display the name of the status effect, such as held, immobilized, confused, ect. a teammate is under instead. Just a thought, think it would be a nice change but not a priority. Thanks for everything your doing devs!
  25. Yow know, instead of being able to show every effect currently on your teammate, such as they are running tough and weave, by showing a bunch of small icons, it may be a heck of a lot better to show just: held, stunned, immobilized, confused, ect.
