  1. Tough question. When I was starting out a thousand years ago and I was trying to figure out an electric electric blaster, and failing miserably, I came across someone who took pity on me and led me to Wentworth. He explained the, at the time, oh so confusing interface, let me know what kind of IOs to buy (and why) and gave me 10 million to purchase some things so my powers wouldn't be a sea of red all the time. This seemed a Windfall to me considering I had just given away 3 times that amount for a wing recipe. Had I been given a billion Influence or even 500 million (which admittedly back in the day didn't go nearly as far) or an entire build I am not actually sure how I would have reacted. Overjoyed probably. I do not think it would have made me bored with the game but times were different as we were all paying monthly for the sheer pleasure of fighting Hellions. When I do randomly give away funds it usually maxes out around 100 million. More than enough for a standard build or a tidy nest egg to set you on your way to being Ebil and self sufficient. A billion I reserve for top prize at a costume contest. Thinking of which I have not done for a while so stay tuned for an upcoming event.
  2. Definitely wasn't me. I am a firm believer if I am making mad cash anyone else that wants to sell at the same level should be allowed to Profit equally.
  3. Retirement is good though...I am actually playing the game with my time again.
  4. Oh me oh my...I think I actually did perform some market manipulation and I'm pretty sure some of you do as well. I retired from the market a few weeks back.* Pretty sure it is the first time on Homecoming. On Live I stopped 3 or 4 times. As part of the process I logged in to Ebil Bunny to clean out sales that were left and start canceling bids. I got tired of clicking cancel so some were just ignored. Overwhelming Forces Knockback** was one such IO. It was another of those it seemed no one else was really trading in . Buy at a variety of prices in the mid-high 8s, throw some 9s in occasionally to break the pattern. Relist at 12 and change, collect 15,18, got as high as 25 upon occaaion. (Yes I realize this breaks my standard pricing procedure but the influence was just too easy and their are always exceptions to the rule.) While collecting my final earnings I would check back upon the price and they seemed to have settled upon a low of 6, 8/9 at the top (it is the weekend so the prices may be slightly skewed but take a look next week.)*** My brain tells me this is a form of manipulation. Set an average buying price but continue to bid below it to catch the IO and then set an exaggerated selling price. Hadn't actually occurred to me. Guess I am Ebil. Muah ha ha!!! *Retired except for the 2 billion I seem to have accumulated while experimenting in the Hami market. That doesn't count though as I am not religiously watching it. **have I ranted about Overwhelming Forces before? My brain is telling me I have and should just bail now. ***apologies to any that are unduly affected financiallly by this post. Hit me up and I will direct you towards another gold mine 😉
  5. Often times the Villain Badge is different but when you switch back to Hero the Badge switches to what you were after.
  6. I started fresh with all new characters so there was no gap for me. The Coming Storm is just over the horizon.

    Empathy

Fire/Emp Trollers can be pretty tough. I am pretty sure all of the powers, with the exception of Rez, can be used on the Imps. Once you have the buffs applied you have 3 smoking balls of death running amuck while you lock things down. Take the Fire Ancillary so you can toss Fireball around in the down time. Can't say enough good things about Smoke. Rarely have a stealth on a Fire Troller. Just slide by. Plus it helps them not hit you. Not as powerful as its cousin's Rad, Kin or Time but solid. And yes your Imps will draw way to much aggro but that's part of the charm. Slow ride to 32 solo ☹ but thats not necessary. When you get there it is a beautiful flow of almost controlled chaos. Plus when you team you have a host of tools at all levels to assist.
  8. I'm not sure if this is possible but I figured this is a good place to ask. Or maybe it is there right in front of me and I just don't see it. Can it be setup so that I select a specific named thug/enforcer with one key and then make him Goto/Attack with another instead of all of the minions being given instructions too?
  9. I don't think there is a lot of market manipulation pvp style action going on. There are far too many ways to get around a stranglehold on supply. Converting keeps it an even playing field. For about a year I was selling Lvl 10 Rectified Reticle: To Hit Buff/Recharge for prices ranging from 8 to 20 million. Lots of them. Always wondered why people purchased my product instead of just crafting one themselves for 700K and change. Then the set was mentioned somewhere in these esteemed halls, a few new well intentioned ladies and gentlemen entered the playing field and it became time to back off. I get the consumer mentality though, I don't want to craft anything either, I want it nao. So you pay. I don't really view that as pvp. There are certain items I dabble in that people pay me an obscene amount of influence for, compared to what I invest. What can I say? I am, after all, a flipper at heart. I think the sweet spot for flipping is around 73ish% of purchase price; some IOs being exceptions to the rule (LotG+ being the most noticeable. If you are willing to wait a few days you can probably get it for 5.5-5.8 but soonish costs 6-7. It is tight profit margin. That is why we convert.) List it for a little over the Listing fee and you win. 1.5 will give you 3...8 will get you 12 with minimal effort. So there is that sort of thing going on but it is super easy to beat. I think if we were ever to see manipulation it would be in Hami Os. As there is no way to convert lead into gold, the market there is more susceptible. Prices vary radically over time so it doesn't appear anyone is doing so in a concerted way. It is fun to watch and profit from though. It is as Yomo said, the Ebil League of Ebilness is good for the market and the average player. More available now for a much lower cost.
  10. Beat up some bad guys, get an inspiration plus a tiny bit of influence then head to Wentworth.
  11. While I don't have a suggestion for you I have taken to placeholder names that eventually evolve into something if I find the character worthy. Hero Name TBD became Hero Named Ted when I fell in love with him. The original Bssigh-man became Bird-man while playing around in the costume creator. I was pleasantly surprised it was available. Sadly he was one of many Kin Melee that has been abandoned. Latest version is some kind of a Corrupror I don't play. Unfortunately New Cool 2.3 now languishes as a Influence mule.

    Amplifiers

Oops . Forgot to post some results. The Superior IOs I placed for sale brought in a 800 million profit it seems and were gone by the end of that weekend. That works out to be 5.3 million/minute on time invested. My average, when dealing with converting, is 6.5 million/minute. No idea how this compares to anyone else but seems like lots to me. I only know the million/minute because I spent a couple months converting and tracking in different fields to see which yielded the best result...I discovered if I knew what things generally sell for the Rare conversion into a wide variety of IO types had the highest profit margins. Converting Def/Res IOs into more lucrative Def/Res IOs is also profitable but seems a fuller playing field so it can get dicey. Either way I did get stuck with some things I priced to high and to this day haven't sold. Need a nice supply of Cloud Senses? I can definitely hook you up. I bought another fat stack the day after my original purchase just out of curiosity. Converted them all to the same types, did not catalyze and put them up at what I thought was a reasonable price. Seems my reasonable price wasn't so reasonable after all. Just finished selling the last of those a few days ago.....took FOREVER. Net profit was about 85 million. I don't recall how long it took to process the inventory but the results was kind of pathetic in comparison. I did end up receiving more amplifiers than I had in the initial batch so I am set for a good long while. Works for me as that was ultimately the point of all the clicking.. Of the IO types that I chose to sell scrappers seemed to sell poorly (especially the non superior variety) while Blasters and Brutes went quickly. At the end of the day, if you want a stash of Amplifiers, definitely put in the time to make the IOs Superior. Easy money.
  13. No actual event like those two. In RV you can spawn AVs by taking control of the pillboxes though.

    Bad Casting

    Ok...we NEED the Muppets Avengers.
  15. Had no idea that Team inspirations affect MM pets. Do they help Troller pets or P2W summons? Do Team mates and pets need to be in a certain range to get the benefit of the inspiration or is being on the team good enough? I enjoy the Ultimates. Nothing like all of a sudden being tough enough to rip Frostfire apart.
  16. How does he make you more powerful? The only thing I can think of is the Alignment power and for myself they are so seldom used they may as well not exist. Am I missing out on super coolness from them or is it something else?
  17. Lol. Is that a thing? Too funny.
  18. Very much random. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don't. And sometimes you REALLY DON'T GET LUCKY 😞
  19. Hmmmm. Has anyone suggested turning up the volume on your speakers yet? *ducks*

    Bad Casting

Can totally picture Peter Lorre as Golum. Thank you for that giggle.
  21. Ahh gotcha..thank you. Never occurred to me it had a name.
  22. Currently I have a little over 8 billion on hand it seems. Much more than I will ever need at any rate.
