  1. Here's one I find useful for getting into a base. f3 "enterbasefrompasscode VF-5738$$enterbasefrompasscode COSMICTRANSPORT-6608$$enterbasefrompasscode Enclave-687$$enterbasefrompasscode TORCHCS-5949" Enclave-687 is MY base on Everlasting. All of the others are useful public transport bases. I don't have to build my own base on other shards or remember which shard I'm on. I just walk up to a base portal and hit F3. When I use this, I'll get a bunch of error messages for the wrong entries but the one that matches the server I'm on will work. I need to find a good base on the fifth shard and add that when I get around to it. I think I'm missing Reunion since I only have one character there. All of my characters have EITHER the Blackwand or the Nemesis Staff. So I don't have to remember which, or clutter my power trays, I use this: alt+f "powexecname Nemesis Staff$$powexecname Blackwand" Every character has one of the P2W travel powers, based on their concept and background. Whichever they have, this will turn it on and off. alt+e "powexecname Ninja Run$$powexecname Beast Run$$powexecname Athletic Run" The bind file I load onto every new character has 58 keybinds. I have a template at the top of my keyboard for all the ones on the F-keys, Alt-F and Ctrl-F. So useful.
  2. Specifically, click on the fourth section per the image below and that will connect you. Edit: And I don't mean to click on this image. I mean find the main forum section that looks like this and click on the words "Homecoming Discord Server".
  3. And if you're NOT trying to become fabulously wealthy, the effort is pretty trivial. I do my marketeering on one character at a time until they finish their incarnate stuff. I'll spend 15-20 minutes at the AH, a couple times per week. By the time the character is finished, they will have made over 2 billion inf - maxing out their holding capacity and dropping a few hundred million into emails. I then transfer any remaining converters to a new low-level character.
  4. No. I actually based the build on the piece of prose about Toggle Man that someone wrote back on the live forums. So he adheres to the restrictions that were in place at the time. If you want to read the story, link is in my signature.
  5. Yeah, the tough pet was on my mind when I made an earth/radiation controller. He's pretty devastating and radiation is great for the team.
  6. This. We know from the plaques that he was tremendously tall. Not sure if I read it somewhere, but I also believe the statue in Atlas Park is life-sized.
  7. While money is a concern, I actually leave some slots empty and don't upgrade the others until my enhancements are yellow and about to turn red the next time I level. Sometimes I miss and end up with all red (non-functioning) enhancements. When that happens, you'll notice it pretty quick. P.S. I do this until about level 30-32. Then I start slotting IO's (invention origin enhancements). They never expire so they're a bargain in the long run.
  8. I would say to pick any class that features an attack set as their primary and a defensive set as their secondary. Something like a blaster is attack/attack, a controller is crowd control/support, a corruptor is attack/support. So I would recommend any of the following: brute, scrapper, sentinel, stalker. In each case, their primary power set is about doing damage while the second set is about staying alive. Personally, my very first character was a scrapper. For a total newb, I'd say pick a defensive set without too many click powers so it's more 'set and forget' but, as an experienced MMO player, that's not a concern so pick any set that appeals to you. Once you get the hang of this game, then venture into crowd control, support, tanking, etc.
  9. (snort) My empathy defender is fully tier 4 incarnate. It's fine in endgame content. As for synergy, I find empathy/dark to be great. Dark blast is loaded with debuffs to enemy 'to hit' odds so it means my teammates (and I) get hit less. I see a plug for Nature Affinity and that's also a great set. I have a nature/fire defender. He's only level 31 so far. Re tanks, I've done shield/axe and dark/dark. Dark armor can have END issues due to the number of toggles but you can make it work - even in extreme cases. I did a concept build named Toggle Man. He's a dark armor / spines scrapper and runs 16 toggles in combat just to make a point. 🙂
  10. 2 billion is correct. And, if it becomes relevant, the maximum for reward merits and Vanguard merits is 10,000. You'd think it would be 9999 so it's only four digits but, no, it's 10,000.
  11. I'll second that. And it can save a lot of time when creating a new character. I have a keybind file for all characters. I just have to manually type the string to load it on a new character, then it has a keybind to customize my chat channels. It also has a bind to reload the bind file for when I make edits to it. Then, characters with special requirements have their own bindfiles and these also include a bind to reload the file after edits. Then I have one keybind that loads and entire set of binds for mothership raids. One of the keybinds in that set ERASES all the MSR binds so that I don't accidentally hit one when I don't need it. There's a lot of power in keybind files. The ambitious can go a step further and venture into popmenus. Even greater versatility there, but also a lot more complexity.
  12. Do you think that merits sympathy? I was on a regular team with him, playing with him EVERY week. I'm still not sure if I've fully recovered.
  13. Less clutter. I put everything on my computer that I possibly can. As we approach tax season, I have started receiving tax documents in the mail. I will go to each company website and download a PDF document so I can shred the paper ones. The only paper I have for any game is a keyboard template across the top of my keyboard for CoH. Between the default F keys, plus CTRL and ALT versions, I have 21 keybinds there.
  14. Porting to console takes time and money. It's never going to happen for a game with no income stream.
  15. You don't actually have to have the same quests to level together. Having the same quest and both completing it as you progress is ONE option. Another option is to just do anyone's quests. You'll both get the same XP for kills and mission complete. Also, you can go to one of the contacts that has a fixed sequence of missions. One example at low level would be Twinshot (her arc starts as low as level 5 and runs to 19). I would definitely recommend doing her Shooting Stars arc at least once. It has a good story and it's newer (better written and designed) content. Some of the content written 20+ years ago is . . . let's say 'uninspired'. Another good low-level contact is Matthew Habashy.
  16. Aside from badges and new powers, there is another benefit to the incarnate powers - level shifts. Once you get the Alpha slot to tier 3 (out of 4), you get a level shift that applies in all content where you're not exemped down. So it would not help on a Manticore task force, where you're effectively level 35 even if you're really 50. BUT, on the Lady Grey TF for example, instead of being level 50, you would be 50+1 - effectively level 51. Super helpful. Two of the other slots also give level shifts that are ONLY applied in incarnate content. So in iTrials (or Dark Astoria) you can be facing enemies in the 54-57 range and you can be 53 instead of 50.
  17. Bonan the Culinarian? If anyone is curious, this is from a Primus video.
  18. To be fair, that cutscene has awesome dialog. Frostfire: "I used to be like you. I thought things were simple." Lackey: "Yeah, simple." Frostfire: "Shut up, you moron!"
  19. As I recall, the only thing that has sound is the tutorial in the wreckage of Galaxy City. Everything else is text.
  20. Which is weird, because that also seems to be what you complain about the most on the forums. 😛
  21. Honestly, I see this exact comment a lot in the Valheim reddit. The game has amazing reviews, people rave about it, but plenty of people simply don't enjoy it. No game ever has had universal appeal. Having said that, yeah, the game kind of sucks at really low level. Which is why I get past that as quickly as possible. I buy the double XP buff from the Pay2Win vendor in Atlas Park and do the Death From Below trial with random people a few times to get to somewhere in the 12-15 range. Then I delete the double XP buff and start playing the game 'for real'. On a side note, the 'DFB' trial (that's what everyone calls it in chat) is fun. It's much more recent content. Another piece of good content at low level is the Shooting Stars mission arcs. The initial contact is Twinshot and you can start the arcs at level 5. It actually has a story and interesting characters unlike some of the original content which is "Go to the warehouse and defeat the random boss."
  22. Only if you bork bork bork in chat.
  23. This is a fine place, as this is of broad interest. But you might want to ALSO post in the Indomitable section. Scroll about 2/3 of the way down on the main forum page.
  24. Okay, I took every tank armor set to level 50 back on live and it was never NEVER like you're describing it. As for the tanks herding the entire zone, the fix for that was adjusting the aggro cap and nothing more. Now tanks can only have 16 enemies 'mad' at them. There was no damage nerf to stop tanks from herding entire zones. Either your memory is playing horrible tricks on you or you had no idea how to play back then. Either way, you should be pleasantly surprised by the current state of the game.
