I "met" @Heraclea, at a Tanker Tuesday event and long before their passing, and made this guy (Inv/DM), as an homage to Hera, as their namesake was Inv/DM. You're right...stupidly tough and glorious: https://www.midsreborn.com/builds/download.php?uc=1460&c=728&a=1456&f=HEX&dc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

Will be better equipped to comment on your posted build. One caveat: I have a very durable Ice build, but with Stone Melee as the secondary, rather than spines. As for the other questions (and pertaining to Ice Armor): -I skip Hibernate. Spine Burst: I would keep every AOE in your toolbox. Always. -Yes. I would keep every AOE in your toolbox. Especially damage auras. Always. You will be an aggro magnet, which is a good thing. On my particular build, I six-slot Icicles with MoT. Some agree and some poo-poo the ATO procs in auras, as you will probably never get triple stacks. This build doesn't need it and I like the "fire and forget" nature. Even with only one stack, the build has excellent resists. -Energy Absorption: I six slotted LotG, to add to already strong defenses and to gain the global recharge, accuracy and resistance bonuses. -AVALNCH tanks everything. At level 54 content, he uses Ageless Radial for DDR, to keep the strong defense numbers up. Shield, he isn't, but anything short of trying to solo Lord Recluse at +4 is doable. A built well shield tank is the premier def based armor. Inv is hybrid, so with Def + Res, and when built to the max is, in my opinion (and I'm an admitted Inv fanboy) the strongest armor set available, for all content. I wouldn't call Ice "underperforming" overall, but it certainly isn't at the very top of durability. That's just reality. There was a healthy discussion about Ice Armor, here, as well:
-
Good to know. In the absence of any detail, I assumed solo...
-
What level 801 were you planning to tackle? @Linea describes 801.2 as the "base" difficulty. Your only build hole, that I can see, is no DDR.
-
My pleasure, WB. Six tanks at +2 in 1:06 (kill most) wasn't half bad. Even with the Crey upgrades with PP "Elites" and those wicked debuffs, we had no defeats. Nice to see some of the regulars, who moved their toons Indom and really nice to see and welcome the new tankers.
-
I just taunt and herd some more and, if I'm in the right spot, I hit a group with Sands of Mu (which is unaffected by the drop)...
-
No worries. If you look back at when I posted it, I stole (uh, borrowed/cobbled) many ideas from Hyper and @Infinitum, so all good. I did intentionally pick Pyre Mastery for ST hold in Char (and +absorb) and debuff with Melt Armor.
-
You have great taste (that's the NUTCRCKR build) and took it more toward @Hyperstrike's "Mo Durable" build. NUT's practically unkillable, even against psi, so yes, I would categorize it as "extremely powerful" 😆
-
"Well I can't just call you 'man' You could say 'Dennis'. I didn't know you were called Dennis. Well you didn't bother to find out, did you?" Love Python, love the Grail...
-
LOL, no worries. By the time I made PLV (what @Warboss and everyone calls me on Tanker Tuesdays) on Live, "Pulverizer" was already taken. By the time I found Homecoming (Feb. 2020), most of my other names were also taken, so I stuck with the license plate theme, for the most part.
-
Fire will never be as durable as other primaries, but you can do a lot to make it a lot "less squishy". If you would post your build, many will make suggestions on improvements (like have you slotted the ATOs and, if so, in what powers). Having said that: -Fire needs to kill more quickly than other tanks. Dead foes can't hit you back. -Stone Melee has a whole lot of mitigation. Foes on their arse can't hit you back. -Incarnates can close holes in Defense or Resistance (if you're 50+). You can also get DDR, which fire tanks desperately need. I don't have a Fire/Stone, but @Sovera is the fire tank guru, so a quick search might glean more. My only Fire tank is Fire/MA (because of the Def. adds of Storm Kick - Sovera's Brunker build, basically). I run a ridiculously durable Ice/Stone tank, with lots of mitigation from stone melee, so if you want either of those builds for comparison, I'll post or send 'em to you.
-
And I don't use Hand Clap, but I'm sure I've seen builds with procs that do damage, so you might also look into that. With the sheer numbers of baddies in ITF, every little bit helps.
-
I stand corrected (but it should be unique) 😁
-
Solid build, for sure. My go to for ITF is NUTCRCKR and the build is posted in this thread: (along with some great discussion about all-around builds). I went Pyre Mastery, for ST hold (Char) and debuff (Melt Armor), instead of Energy. Yes, I get blinded without FA, but just stomp my way through it 😁. Couple comments: -NUT never needs Dull Pain, so the PM +absorb and Rebirth incarnate aren't needed. I put PM +absorb in Health and Ageless for Destiny...if you're going to focus solely on ITF, I'd take the DDR version (Radial), mainly to help your teammates out. The debuffs on that TF are brutal. -I always try to find a slot for the Performance Shifter +End unique, which could go in Stamina or Physical Perfection. -Invincible is a great place for the Gaussian +Build Up, as it procs constantly. -I'd swap SGF and SBC from Jab and KOB, since the +absorb is (IMHO) more important than the hold. In Jab, it procs constantly. -The +psi damage proc (Perfect Zinger) is great in Taunt. The range Enh is nice, but extra damage is always appreciated. -Speaking of extra damage, I use six pieces of Hecatomb in Foot Stomp. With Hasten up, it recharges in >7 seconds already, so I'll take the extra damage over the FF +recharge. That allows me to use Kick, instead of Boxing, and put the FF proc there...even though it's just for $hits and Giggles, but I have a thing about empty slots, both in game and in Mid's. Just my $,02 influence
-
Mine is Fire/Thermal as I like the support aspect of Thermal. He's a wonderful addition to any team (if I do say so, myself) 😆.
-
If Granite Armor is not active, what can you use it to mule?
PLVRIZR replied to TungstenShark's topic in Tanker
I rarely use Granite, but on PLV, I have the UG Max HP and one piece of Reactive Defenses (Def/EndRdx/Rech), for those rare occasions that I use it. -
It was my pleasure and what an awesome night and an honor to be on a team where TWO TT regulars dinged 50 (Witty Librarian's Ice/DB was the other). If you haven't experienced a Tanker Tuesday, I would encourage you to come check it out.
-
I'll be another to say any toon that is influence deficient, especially as it comes to buying and upgrading SOs, is their own lack of education. Merits to converters to cash. After running Posi, what do you think a new player is going to do with merits? Hopefully ask questions or check the forums. Couldn't be simpler and between @Yomo Kimyata, @Sovera and many others' guides, with simple and effective influence generation, it's a moot argument.
-
I have nearly identically built Inv tanks, JAW with St.J and NUT with SS. I still play both, but almost always reach for SS first. Foot Stomp is just so ridiculously satisfying.
-
My pleasure.

I wasn't as concerned as positionals, as typed Def. As you note, Invinc, when saturated, pushes everything but Psi well over the cap. Using @Hyperstrike and @Infinitum frameworks, I made one (NUTCRCKR) as general purpose, including SG and dual-box fire farm support, plus Pyre mastery for ST hold (Char) and debuff (Melt Armor) and another (BALLBUSTR) with Energy mastery (FA only, so no Conserve Power or Physical Perfection) and Cross Punch, for another AOE. (Or you can make multiple builds on the same toon) Both can tank just about anything in the game (as evidenced by NUT main tanking on Ms. Lib TF and Lord Recluse SF at +4 this week. NUT https://www.midsreborn.com/builds/download.php?uc=1621&c=775&a=1550&f=HEX&dc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https://www.midsreborn.com/builds/download.php?uc=1612&c=772&a=1544&f=HEX&dc=78DA65945B53525114C7F781830262A288A02802A2DCE408EA43D79932A15161C609EBD5C13A22132103E8E84CF5945D667AEAA5A7CA1EFB043DF4DA27E8A6565FC16AA64C7BE9B4E4BFF780C39981DFDEFFB3D65E6BAFBDF6496F4C5B969793179964B95CC8562A8B0BD9E22DB56C4CAF55B3D5FC6A91D1736AEA522A35752DB370D5B31E5762AD24B961B638AD2EABC58AAACC14D7D70A45B59C5DCA17F2D54D177F9D560BAAAA64D64A34CE54CB6A31575D6196F9D5D5829252B3A57C31D75E9B24F3B9952ACDCCB559A6A4AA37BB6BC3C406B9E66FAB4564634B94F237940405CA6D2EA6B395AA5ADE74523A51FABD37D19F749C2FD3742C44A380CC740EE280CCE4713D6371998D9A997834037B2CD744EB23D0FD10F43F00C35B9CF7C10F1441E2110CD2811E11FE80F221D872045AFE82DEDF88FC919CF53CB24E3F27D544630AEC4F839FC8C8C023C88649882D13A0791C1C8D73C6C0B721C65AB993BEF500E18C87A0F908B4F034142A804914C0F415A2F50BD8B3073A77C1E80E38F619DC21CF3611A9CD8D129F1AE4F481512FE8A03E69E791A4F66F3A94B897AF486974F097ACA38297BBB47CA7543B434DEEFC05CBAE24EAD8350B7A66A00FBD86539C56B2890DD92210BB039C41B027043AC3A07F84EB94A35D6CC83E8795FB7804F715D093047564ECE0C6CCB18515F628E75ED113BDFF582DC73E0DEC6728855702C7749C7A709C7277A16935E68A106C329328CC8028CD80460FD39334285A7B90B7B627C017F7833219F9C45E7C76F4C69095B313F4DBC0498A3C2CAA367C017B1939CD79060C9C0543E7C0F079F00979064597065FE17284B6395F82D11760FC39E8A3F422A21D22C7A3E316E69CA074147139943B042779DEE5BC076ED331C44461625E7886E4FAADD7FAE5FAED4611C92275426CC116E665E145A2E482E5BEB97EBF991485F8FD841884F8A341D449D751D391591C44601FFDF2B3C148929EF19A3EE5B53C9155ED9463CD52BC599A6896269B2593B5FEB5D172F481888B1A75D81B260947C3C4D83879E36B9864692771B1DA52E3E45DB87EC9B5FFF246EEC4 Hope that helps.

The lvl 41 Clockwork King AV challenge for Controllers
PLVRIZR replied to LynxNordique's topic in Controller
...so, I did. No dice. Frostee Freeze is fully IO'd, with all six pieces Sup. SOP in Arctic Air and all six pieces Sup. WoC in Glacier. Ran it at 45 (since I couldn't figure out how to drop the level to 41) with "no temps" criteria. Removed Frozen Armor, Flash Freeze and Incarnates from my tray (Vengeance was the only other >41 power), so as to not be tempted to use. Pulled and killed the entourage, spawned and buffed Jack and went to work. He couldn't kill us but we couldn't kill him, either. Granted, my secondary is Empathy, so had nothing other than Ice Control for damage...called it a draw, after about 5 min. I can also confirm that Ice Slick does not cause KD for CK AV. -
We proved, last night, that with a couple Dark Melee, an Energy Melee...along with War Mace, SS (two of us), Savage and I dont' remember what else, did it easily without temp powers. I threw a couple of daggers, on the AVs that were taking longer, but weren't really needed for success, just to cut down the time. I have Melt Armor on NUT, so that, Blackwand and Diamagnetic incarnate were my only debuffs, but were obviously effective (we finished in 43 min 😁)
