!Oh my Pancreas! Panacea...so the newbie won't be looking through the Auction House...under "organs". 😁

Which Full Theme primary/secondary set would you enjoy the most?
PLVRIZR replied to ninja surprise's topic in Tanker
For tanks I've gotten a Dark/Dark to 50, now, and had a Fire/Fire to 50 on Live. I'd also argue that Inv/SS is "close enough" 😁 My first ever toon on Live was Eng/Eng blaster. I just wanted to fly, dammit! He finally made 50, after about ten years and 100 other toons to 50. I also remade my Rad/Rad defender from Live (and got him to 50 on HC) and he's an AV killer, for sure. -
Nice build and a couple of observations. Please note that I exemp alot and if you're never doing less than 50 content, some of this may not apply or be as beneficial. I turn off all the Incarnates, first, and go from there... No level 30 power? Since you have ToD in Kick, I will assume it's in your attack rotation. For those toons that actually use it, I also single slot, but with Force Feedback chance for +recharge. Doesn't do much damage anyway, so not much loss there, but those times I get a recharge boost, I'll take it. Also saves some $$$ . Once I realized I could slot Gaussain's chance for build up in Invicibility, I went and added it to all my Inv tanks. Passive procc'ing, at its finest. It procs constantly. You'll lose 3.75% Toxic/Psi resist, but it's worth it, IMHO. Moving it from Focused Accuracy and putting a generic End Reduction IO in there is much more "bang for the buck". You'll also save some $$$ on one fewer Shield Defense. I'd replace the generic flight IO in Fly with a Blessing of the Zephyr KB protection. 14 pts. may seem like overkill, but you're an "Invulnerable" tank...getting knocked down is embarrassing 🤭. If you're dead set on flight speed, using a BotZ or Winter's Gift global travel IO will benefit all your movement speeds, not just fly. When you look at your (very expensive) AT and purple sets, I put the procs in order of importance. For me, for tanks: (1) MoT +res, (2) SGF +absorb, (3) Avalanche KD and (4) Hecatomb +dam. You've got Avalanche in the cone, same as I'd do. I'd put MoT in Barrage and SGF in Bone Smasher (fast recharging), so your killer +dam proc is in your AOE. If you're adamant on having an AT in the AOE, I'd swap in MoT, because with two stacks of the proc, you're nearing soft cap in N/E and in the high 70s in virtually everything else (even with Cardiac Core off). Speaking of recharging, you've got a buttload! Without Ageless, your toggles take almost all of your end (0.5/sec to spare)...which won't sustain much fighting. With the Focused Accuracy swap and replacing a LotG global recharge in Weave, for a generic IO End Reduction, along with putting all four End Red LotGs in Weave, you drop to 2.07/s usage. Finally, you can move a slot from Taunt (I'd put it in Stamina and add a Performance Shifter) and take Perfect Zinger chance for psi damage. Nothing like an insult so strong it sometimes reduces the opponents' health! It also gives you a bit more breathing room, with almost a full point of end/sec recovery difference.

What happens when you pass 50 and hit "Incarnate" level?
PLVRIZR replied to Black Talon's topic in General Discussion
It *really* gets rolling at 53 (vet lvl 3), when you start getting Empyrean merits, in earnest. About vet level 12, you've got enough Emp merits and threads to get T3 in four (if not all five) incarnate slots. THEN you really hit the pinnacle of this game. -
When did you started playing CoX? Was it before or after the game shut down? Tell me a little about how you met the game. As others have reported, the game was being talked about, as far back as 2001-2002. I played many dice and paper games (mostly D&D/AD&D) in middle school, H.S. and college. (1975 - 1987). I found the dice and paper game "Champions" in college, in 1983, and played it until I graduated in 1987. When CoH debuted in 2004, I was one of the first to buy the retail version and subscribe. I played almost exclusively on the "Champion" server, because of the Champions dice/paper game. Have you played the game before the shut down in 2012? If the answer is yes, tell me about how you feel about the game’s “Death”. What was that experience like? Yes, since 2004. I was in Atlas Park (with another several thousand players), when the plug was pulled. It was painful. And when the game returned in 2019? What did you felt? Was it like a “Homecoming”? Yes, but I didn't find out about the game until Feb. 2020. I thought "Reunion" was appropriate, so I started rebuilding all my lvl 50s, there, until I realized it was the EU server and moved most of my toons to Excelsior. What was the first thing you did after playing the game for the first time in years? Begin re-creating my numerous lvl 50s. My handle is @PLVRIZR, so he's the first one I remade. Most of the characters in my signature are rebuilds from the Live days. What are your thoughts on the return of the servers? Did you brought something with you from the original server? (Avatars, builds, things like that) Absolutely. It has been a mission to remake all my favorites (and there are alot of them). Do you like to play with a specific character? (can be more than one) If yes, what makes it so special to you? I've been a tanker, since the beginning and still predominately play tanks. I'll happily jump to a support toon, if the team needs it, but PLVRIZR, NUTCRCKR and JAWBRKR are my "go to" toons.
-
Back on Live, I thought a Regen/Claws scrapper would be a cool "Wolverine" build...so I did it. Ground through the late 30s and got so disgusted I deleted and rerolled a SR/Claws. That guy ("Wolfen") rocked!
-
Oh yes, GREAT concept, thank you. SInce I respec'd him to current state, I've taken him on three or four Indom Tanker Tuesdays and he has performed admirably. WarBoss even encouraged me to solo the alpha against Maruader, sans granite, and he was never in any real danger while holding aggro for the rest of the tanks to enter the mish (the big guy was right inside the door). This toon is near and dear as PLV was my first ever 50 tank on Live (I played almost exclusively on the Champion server). Also, since I was initial retail (remember pre-I1, when there were only four tank primaries, 40 was the level limit and SOs ruled the day because Hami-os were too rare and expensive for anyone), and there was no invention system, he ran granite, exclusively. So nice to see my man in action, now, instead of looking like a wanna-be DE. 😆

Here's PLVRIZR. Note, he follows the "un-Granite" philosophy, with Granite as the emergency button, only. He's really beefy, even without granite, though: This Hero build was built using Mids Reborn 3.0.4.7 https://github.com/Reborn-Team/MidsReborn Click this DataLink to open the build! You're right, of course, but I see the AT proc enough, it becomes second nature.

Opinons on the funnest build to level the old fashion way
PLVRIZR replied to I-Dirty's topic in General Discussion
^---this. Totally agree. -
This is what I based "DRKSTNITE" on. Pretty much indestructible. https://www.midsreborn.com/builds/download.php?uc=1524&c=687&a=1374&f=HEX&dc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

More fun? Pshttttt...says the Inv fanboy (see sig)...😝
-
You, Sir, win the internet today. This was sidesplittingly humorous, especially after I re-read it out loud, using John Cleese's voice and inflection, from the Dead Parrot sketch...
-
Hyper, Interested to know why you put both MoT procs in Scorch. My WP/Fire tank has the +Res in Combustion (fires virtually every group/activation) and the +absorb in Breath of Fire (for the cone...fires most times I have three targets, even though the absorb is almost inconsequential).
-
Preach, Brother! Everyone come out to Indom, tonight for Tanker Tuesday, and join us for some action. I'll be running my titular Stone/SS @PLVRIZR
-
Energy and otherwise, WP covers defense and resist "holes" with absorb and regen...quite efficiently. The build I just posted can (and has) taken everything but solo ITF, I've thrown at him.
-
Since we're posting builds...😝 With Fiery Melee, this guy does quite a bit of damage, as well: https://www.midsreborn.com/builds/download.php?uc=1433&c=703&a=1406&f=HEX&dc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

Ha, beat me to it by 1 minute 🙂
-
No self heal is the biggest drawback, that I have found, but easily mitigated with the massive amount of regen possible or via incarnate (Rebirth Destiny). Also, defense debuff resistance (DDR) is very low (comparatively, considering other tanking primaries), so without Barrier or the Ageless version that has temp DDR, you can get squishy in things like the ITF. I remade my WP/Fiery Melee 50 from live and he's a whole lotta fun (many on this forum have seen him in action on Torchbearer for Tanker Tuesdays), he's my best farming tank and powers, nearly effortlessly, through 98% of PVE content. WP is a very fun set, not as "set it and forget it", like Invulnerability, but very durable. Also one of the primaries that I use the T9 (well, his name is "Will", so you gotta take "Strength of Will", right?), routinely...or at least when I've got even a single blue skittle in inventory 😆
-
Unless it's a mule, even if not toggled on for combat... I use it on my Inv builds to get two more slots of Impervium Armor for 6% Psi resist and an extra 2.5% recovery.
