Questions about the ITF (Possible Spoilers within)
Spaghetti Betty replied to biostem's topic in General Discussion
Well, it's pretty much confirmed that all of the letters we find while time travelling are from the Dream Doctor. The implication from the writing kinda leads you to believe he's the one that sent the 5th to the past, but as to why, I guess we'll never know! -
I know I saw at least one or two try to jump ship to a Katie when we were getting ready to leave. Then we had one that got left behind but didn't respond to tells.

What a great Numina! I had my drunk game goggles on, so I was more focused on herding than photography! Here's a shot I got of Jurassik.

D'oh. I was thinking base numbers. Whoops!

Tanks don't get Regen. If they did, it would be OP. That's a /Regen Brute. The only leverage they have over a Scrapper is increased HP.

So many necros! Help!

Yes, Tanks can utilize proc bombing very easily due to their superior defenses. Since they don't have to invest nearly as much hitting mitigation thresholds, you can spend more of your effort just barely hitting acc/dam thresholds in your attacks (2 acc/dam HOs is the poster child for this) and frankenslotting the rest of the available slots with Chance for Damage procs, or other fun stuff! A great example of "other fun stuff" is using a knockback-heavy melee and slotting Force Feedback: Chance for +Recharge in your attacks. This effectively means you can circumvent low global recharge from not having IOs sets by dumping out attacks. On top of what might already be available to your chosen melee, Tanks (and Brutes) also get access to another damage proc option in Perfect Zinger, since every attack in their melee can take Taunt enhancements. This usually means they will be able to slot no less than 4 damage procs in an attack if you're not looking for any additional effects.

Super Reflexes, the Most Boring Power set.
Spaghetti Betty replied to The Mighty Paladin's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
While I think it would be neat if SR had its own idle dodges that absolutely did not interact with character control in any way, the game does have an idle dodge animation already, it's just a generic animation. Your toon will make small bobs and weaves in place if no other animation is playing. -
You are correct that recharge should be one of your main goals with Bio Armor. It can reach high levels of survivability if your clicks are up often, to the point where the S/L RES and exotic DEF offered by your armors can be considered fluff. You can also push your offense to insane levels thanks to the innate debuffs of Bio and SS's general friendliness towards proc bombing. Here's how I run mine! muscle man - Brute (Super Strength - Bio Armor).mbd I will note that my approach can feel incredibly squishy at times. I rely solely on Ablative Carapace, Parasitic Aura, and DNA Siphon to keep me alive, but the damage I can put out can get pretty crazy, plus key powers having Force Feedback: Chance for +Recharge in them means as long as I keep attacking, my clickies are coming back faster! One thing worth noting is that even if you choose not to go Vigor Core Alpha like I did (it helps bolster your Max HP, Absorb, and Regen), I would recommend not being lured into choosing Musculature Alpha as Brutes overall do not benefit that much from damage enhancement like other damage-focused ATs do. Pick something that adds to the defensive capability of whatever your build ends up being!

Hasten provides +70% recharge to all of your powers for its duration. Super Speed is a convenient travel pick since Burnout requires 2 other picks in the Speed pool. Clicking Burnout instantly recharges all of your Primary and Secondary powers. This is very handy in emergencies where one application of Energize isn't enough to save your bacon. Combat Jumping provides a small amount of DEF and excellent jump control at an extremely unnoticeable end cost. It can also mule a lot of valuable IOs. Every melee attack in the game will show it's potential bonus damage from Fiery Embrace, even if you'll never benefit from it. It's been that way since the data tab was introduced.

Shocked is not a part of Elec Melee. Even if it did the mechanic would feel pretty nonexistent as Elec Melee attacks don't do a very good job of draining. Power Sink in Elec Armor actually does pretty ok at draining mobs, usually getting everything short of EBs to 0 end with 2-3 applications. Of course, in a zerg situation, this hardly matters, but it can lead to some impressive mitigation in solo play. Here's how I run my Elec/Elec! Although it may be due for another pass soon. Do a big zap - Tanker (Electric Armor).mbd With my build, I wanted to emphasize AoE damage while still picking up some nice bonuses along the way. "But Betty! You didn't even take Thunder Strike!" Yup! I am really not a fan of it. It's just too slow! With that animation it should do a morbillion damage, but it doesn't. With some positioning, my rotation of Chain -> Jacobs Ladder -> Cross Punch will deal way more damage to a mob than 1 Thunder Strike and be up in time to repeat the loop. If your goal is to make foes not able to fight, just spam Thunder Clap! Burnout is for sticky situations!

I found another Dom I like! Woo! (Mind/Sonic)
Spaghetti Betty replied to Spaghetti Betty's topic in Dominator
No. By "bump" I mean run a couple of farms on my alt account to skip the lower levels. I'm not one to "skip content" per se, but giving myself a little head start has been saving a lot of my toons from an early grave. -
Why Blappers? Because Blasters get access to Seismic Smash and Knockout Blow for some reason.

I'll make sure to exclusively join your teams on my Blappers from now on!

Dark/Plant - The Strangest Toon I've Ever Played
Spaghetti Betty replied to Spaghetti Betty's topic in Blaster
Thanks for checking out the build! I skimmed yours (currently on break at work) and I think yours is probably a lot safer than mine. I don't think the 10% difference in Slow RES will make that much of a difference in the long run. I'm just a huge stickler for trying to get capped or as close as possible on all of my toons. A lot of common team buffs also give Slow RES, I just think getting slowed is the worst and I'll do everything I can to make sure I can prevent it on my own. Lemme see if I can reply to some of your other points. I was originally running double tentacles but found I wasn't using the Soul Mastery version much. While it did look cool (always a plus!), Tenebrous Tentacles was always up fast enough to just use again after my other AoEs, so I ended up trading that out to make room for Life Drain. I think Vines is great! I see it as a nice "get out of jail free" power that a Blaster typically wouldn't have access to. Kind of like a nuke! I usually alternate between Blackstar and Vines to neutralize mobs quickly and turn the battle into my favor. Having it proc bombed causes it to deal a massive chunk of damage allowing my other AoEs to mop up minions/lts before they break free of the hold. Yup, I do rely on Aim and Toxins to keep my hit chance healthy. I haven't noticed any huge strings of misses otherwise. Just personal preference. When I originally set out to make the toon I wanted to play a Blaster that flipped the AT on its head. I have no doubt that the combo would make a really strong Dom, but I think it's way more entertaining being mistaken for one in the first place. -
Hi, I like doing damage! I have a feeling you do too, which is why you're here in the Blaster forums, and also probably why you clicked on this thread. I also may have allured you with my title. Don't fret, because I have a way with words. And Spaghetti. So, in my quest to do as much damage as possible in the most unorthodox way, I happened upon Radiation Blast. Now, Rad Blast is an odd duck. On the surface, it doesn't have very many standout powers. Most of it's AoEs are on the slow side, and even it's 2 hardest hitting ST blasts leave a bit to be desired. But what if I told you Rad Blast can actually be one of the hardest hitting primaries, and all it takes is throwing caution to the wind? If you're a frequent surfer of the forums, you might already know that damage procs can bring your offense to such unintended (or intended? Hmmmmmmmm) heights that it can make some players groan. This is where Radiation Blast shines like a very aggressive sun during a Texas summer. Every power in Rad Blast can essentially be loaded with at least 4 damage procs. Is that necessary? No! Obviously we have to fit some -Res and other fun stuff in there too. And you can rest assured knowing that you'll never miss, thanks to Defense Cascade Failure™! The big key power we're taking away from here is Irradiate - an extremely powerful and wide PBAoE that can take a slew of procs that will be incredibly useful in our endeavors. Now, granted, there are probably better secondaries to pair with Rad Blast than Earth, but I've taken a liking to it for one specific reason: Seismic Smash. Why exactly did we give one of the hardest hitting melee attacks to Blasters? I don't know! But I love it. This power alone means we are definitely going to center our entire strategy around dumping as much ST hurt as we can as small of a timeframe as possible. That's where Leviathan Mastery makes it entrance. Hey, isn't that the pool with all the fancy shark attacks that suck? Ok, well, Spirit Jaws doesn't suck but that isn't what we're here for! We're here for Knockout Blow. Once again, why in the everloving hell do Blasters get access to this? Who cares! We're taking it. For those not familiar with KO Blow, it is the strongest ST attack from Super Strength. I hope you've been following me so far. So, let's take all of these parts, and get the goblin brain a-workin', and come up with something that will for sure make an AV wish they brought their brown pants! don't miss - Blaster (Radiation Blast - Earth Manipulation).mbd Yup, that'll really put out some pain! Now, I've run this all the way from lvl 10 to 50+, so I'll fill you in on some takeaways from that experience! It hurts. All the of the moving parts in this build lend itself to extremely high burst damage. Opening with Irradiate allows a chance for not one, but two -Res procs to apply to your targets, along with the -DEF, and potential nuke damage from procs. It does an incredible job of softening up your opponent for the next round of Proton Volley - > Seismic Smash - > KO Blow - a potential of well over 1K in burst damage! I will mention that with this build, AoE isn't great, but that's not what I'm here for. It dies. Dying is a Blaster trademark, so why push against the norm? You're here to deal damage. While Rune of Protection (and Melee Hybrid) are included to help soften blows a bit, you really should find a Defender to hide behind. Or pop Inspirations! They are definitely a mechanic. It still runs out of Endurance. I don't think I've played a toon that will still bottom out with almost 300% recovery, but this Blaster will find a way to do it. It's a very wild ride flattening +4 bosses before your blue bar vanishes, but it's sooo worth it. All in all, I think I've successfully found a Blaster that amplifies everything the AT is known for to a T. It's definitely a mainstay on my roster. I encourage anyone to take the build for yourself and spin it however you like. I simply took the combo and pushed it's damage potential as high as I could, while maintaining my own personal goals for builds in general. Happy blasting! Oh yeah and Arcane Bolt is there because I like the sparklies.

Dark/Plant - The Strangest Toon I've Ever Played
Spaghetti Betty replied to Spaghetti Betty's topic in Blaster
Hello! I've taken some time to revist this and I finally worked in Life Drain. This banaids one major problem I've had with the build - endurance management. I love running Intuition Radial as it boosts so many things vital to this Blaster, so switching to Cardiac was out of the question. Throwing a ToE proc in Life Drain alleviates that a bit. I also managed to cap Slow RES! It only matters to me And one last note, armor is for weenies (and Tankers)! Ravens Land new - Blaster (Dark Blast - Plant Manipulation).mbd -
