  1. From a logical standpoint, if you don't believe that Black Lives Matter, you cannot possibly believe that All Lives Matter. While we want to escape from the real world, I've read a lot of politics in the global chat channels, both during Live and with HC. We bring the outside world with us into our escape unless we're deliberate about escaping.
  2. Yeah, I've spent way too much money on Daz Studio...
  3. That's fair. So much KB to expect to stay in draining range...
  4. That's what Transference is for, right? 🙂
  5. I'd had the strange thought this morning of another build for my main (Mind/Kin) just to use Telekinesis and Repel.
  6. Alpha T3+ is described as granting a Level Shift, which applies to all content. Lore and Destiny T3+ are described as granting Incarnate Shifts, which apply only to Incarnate content. I haven't tried it without the Alpha, but I imagine slotting Lore and Destiny but not Alpha would make me 50+2 for Incarnate content but 50 for everything else.
  7. I think there's talk of a rebalance coming for Rage, and I suspect that's the main thing to be addressed before SS could be ported to scrappers. I could imagine Rage becoming similar to other scrapper buff powers, like Concentration or Focus Chi. In its current form, the Rage buff would be too good with the scrapper crit, but the Rage crash would be the ultimate penalty for scrapperlock.
  8. I like Captain Nolan's mission, even though there's not much to it. It's a solid transition into the DA story arc, and it's a change of pace (however brief) away from combat and toward a detective story.
  9. Same with rejecting Common/Uncommon/Rare recipes.
  10. You can go Villain - Rogue - Vigilante - Hero. Null the Gull will change your alignment just for the asking, as many times as you like. ("What can you do?", then Change alignment.) You can also do the Tips missions method starting at 20, which in Live was the only way. Villain and Rogue have redside contacts, Hero and Vigilante have blueside contacts. Rogue and Vigilante are "in-between" alignments, and can visit both sides and participate in both sides' content. As soon as you flip sides, you'll gain contacts for that side so you're not out in the cold, but your old contacts will go inactive. My main runs Vigilante most of the time, because she's nominally heroic but takes a more cosmic and pragmatic view of things and has no time for idealism. She can't initiate redside missions or TFs (because she's still blueside), but she can participate in them if someone starts.
  11. This. It's less about the IRS than licensing negotiations, and right now that means it can't look like anyone is making money. That probably precludes any sort of paid work (even flat fee/contract for particular coding) aside from basic operating costs (e.g., legal expenses).
  12. Because Ouro treats arcs like TFs, you're cut off from all your contacts. Makes it hard to get side jobs.
  13. This is how it's always worked for me, even doing the arc on Live.
  14. There's at least one exception: The Crey building in Nerva. I'm parked in the lobby to get the Day Job badge, and it still gives me a 10-second timer to exit.
  15. I worry a bit about blurring the lines between momentary boost (which is what inspirations were meant to be) and long-lasting buff. I also worry that this would effectively require the creation of 3-minute inspirations--why not just sell those? That being said, I don't hate this idea. I'd especially love to be able to merge EoE inspirations to make 3-minute versions, since it might make inspiration management easier for Hami raids. I also use inspirations rarely enough that I'd routinely have my tray loaded with the 3-minute versions. It might also be interesting to be able to "sidegrade" a 1-minute tier-3 inspiration to a 3-minute tier-1.
  16. I still have (or had) a lifetime STO sub from beta, but it's been a few years (2012?) since I last played. I was running the Wells-class for my Science officer. It's still one of my favorite Star Trek ships, even though we only see it in one episode. I really enjoyed the starship combat in STO, but I never really cared for the ground missions.
  17. And that's a more serious reason why more people don't PvP. I don't want to be the object of your power fantasy.
  18. I think you've hit on the major difference between PvE and PvP in this game (maybe all MMOs, but especially here). PvE is, in some sense, a power fantasy. PvP cannot be a power fantasy, because then a person comes out on bottom of the power struggle. But in PvP, someone comes out on bottom anyway, usually because they have less in the way of experience, skill, resources, or teammates, which are things that homogenization will not solve.
  19. Then why not just remove damage types and secondary effects altogether? Make all powersets irrelevant, so all you can really choose are Tank, Heal, DPS.
  20. I'm currently waiting out the 7-day villain badge on my main (nominally a vigilante and gets the vast majority of my play time), and I noticed just how few SFs there are for redside.
  21. In addition to the relative lack of content, the existing content needs changes in color palette and tone. But mainly, although the whole storyline vectors the character toward becoming the #1 lackey, she's still a lackey. Some of the newspaper missions at least pretend you're starting some schemes on your own, but they don't tie a lot into the main story. If I were to be stuck playing redside as it exists now, I would switch entirely to AE after about level 20, just because a villain isn't a villain without her own schemes. It works blueside because heroes are reactive--they react to the villains' schemes--but it doesn't work redside because villains have to be proactive to provide driving force.
  22. Born a little late for Apollo 11. But I was watching Challenger--and the return to space on Discovery. I woke up early in the morning for the Parker Solar Probe launch, and I was watching today.
  23. I mostly keep playing my main, but here are my five 50s. I have only a few other characters, all under 30. Top row: Fraulein Mental (Mind/Kin controller; my main from 2006), in (left to right) usual costume, "detective mode," and "cosmic mode." Bottom row (left to right): Sunset Smash (WP/SS tanker, 2007; my homage to both Carol Danvers and Power Girl), Cosmique (human/dwarf peacebringer, 2006; my "angel in white"), Samantha-7 (MA/Nin scrapper, 2019; based on one of my Shadowrun characters), and Jean-Luc Wick (Beam Rifle/WP sentinel, 2019; based on Picard and John Wick just after the Picard poster released with the dog).
