  1. I always thought it was too slow back when I played on live (pretty far back, before color customisation). I'm glad to see the speed increases and boost here on HC. I'm still mainly a melee guy but I have it on a couple blasters and a defender.
  2. Other than what other people said, early game solo, brutes have a much better experience. You get your attacks faster since it is your primary, and fury is a way bigger buff to damage proportionally than anything else you can access at low levels.
  3. I most frequently take SS since that + CJ is a very fun form of travel for me. I like zooming and jumping off stuff with a relatively limited jump. SJ is just a bit less fun for me though it is arguably more practical and only a little slower. I play a lot of melee so fly is just less practical to go into. I have a love hate relationship with TP. I love combat TP, and the other various powers in the pool, but I find TP itself clunky to use in confined situations. It's also not that fun to me. I've taken mystic flight on some characters and it seems to be pretty good, and the pool has a lot of useful stuff. But again, I mainly play melee so it is less useful IMO for me. I have some natural "normal people" characters with no travel power other than sprint +athletic run, cheating by using the jet board when I really need some vertical movement. It is suffering sometimes though I have to say.
  4. Never dropped from max height to get that 1hp defiance attack?
  5. AE farming seems to still be a thing. There were a couple of fixes that changed the (probably bugged) double proccing on burn and irradiated ground which affects clear speed a little. I am not an expert on this though. The other change was making Emp merits non-convertable to inf. This heavily affected people who make new toons, farm to some vet level to get Emp merits then rerolled. Afaik, power leveling is still fast AF in AE. as far as money, it is still decent but marketing was still faster for pure money even before the changes.
  6. This game is very particle heavy at times. Fighting the Animus Arcana in Night Ward = can't see shit captain.
  7. I've explored a tiny bit but it is quite inconvenient for most of my doods to get around since I only have a couple with flight or tp. Haven't done any TF's or missions.
  8. It may just be hard to organize. If you can wait for the weekend, I can go through at least part of it with you guys. It won't be my first time through but the Wards are some of my favorite content in the game. It's pretty long to go through the whole set of arcs I'd say. This sort of endeavor might be more reliable organized through an active SG maybe. Dunno. Edit: actually, come to think of it, would you miss dialogue by not being the team leader?
  9. I like the newer arcs that feature the Hellions and Skulls. But we do seem to have a bit of the ol' blue arc due to the sunset cutting us off from the conclusion of the New Regulators/Skulls arc. Outcasts and Trolls are developed decently well in the Hollows arcs. Warriors, well, seem like supporting characters more than anything to me. I'm sure there are arcs out there that cover them better. But my main memory of them being story relevant recently is from the Night Ward arc where you crash the illegal magic stuff auction.
  10. Other: Motorcycle "SS" reskin or vehicle travel pool. It's a pipe dream but I can dream. Lol
  11. We still have to go back and retake Praetoria from Hami though. That seems to be the main loose end, other than the New Praetorian story arc, which is in primal anyway. Personally I'm a Praetorian fan. But I do see what you mean.
  12. That, and people not taking the initiative to lead teams for these types of content. I know since I'm one of those guys with no initiative, lol. This has inspired me though. I'll go lead a Laura Lockhart or something. If I had friends or an SG a longer arc like the Wards, Praetoria, or DA would be cool.
  13. One thing for me is that story lines are not easily experienced in teams in this game IMO. Solo let's you have time to read the stuff, and window dialogue isn't shown to non-team leaders. I do like experiencing the good story lines in this game personally. I assume the original devs learned of this short coming and had more cutscenes and in game dialogue to bring the story to the non-leaders. There are a lot of great and drama filled arcs in this game. I think it would be great if it were easier to experience these as a team. If this is Croatoa that Cranebump is talking about, then there are some other real doozys in those arcs too. It is a shame since it is a cool area and pretty cool story. Some of those are the most fun you can have short of being tied to a chair in a psychopath's basement with jumper cables on your nads.
  14. The other day, inspired by this thread, I was going to get the dialogue text for Katie Douglas in First Ward for "prior to introduction", "too busy", and "too low level", only to go over there and realize that she's not in the spot until the previous arc is done. Does this mean that there is no text here possible?
  15. For me, sentinels were the laziest, but I haven't played since the update to them. You have mez protection and armor, don't have to manage team aggro, and you don't even have to move next to enemies to attack.
  16. Our only choice now is to bring up wedge issues in contemporary politics.
  17. In addition to what others have said, I'd recommend using Mids and comparing the actual difference in effect with a normal IO or something with the same effects if there is a replacement. I Gucci out some characters with 53 HO's but it is far from necessary in many cases. Most, possibly all cases for me personally, it is just perfectionism, as the marginal effect is extremely tiny compared to the marginal cost. So tiny as to definitely not be noticable.
  18. +recharge and +speed would be totally sick flavor wise, but I can see this being too big of a change balance wise to be feasible. That would be potentially a ton of work to rebalance everything. I can imagine procs going out of control too. Would be fun.
  19. It's nice to see that things aren't in decline. It really is hearing. Thanks for gathering the data bro.
  20. This is my two cents, but I used to pvp a bit on live back before the i13 changes. I think I stopped playing around when color customisation and dual blades was released. For me, a lot of what is stopping me from trying it again, other than the very low number of participants (it was already too low back when I was playing live IMO) is that my tiny and smooth brain is too feeble to make me want to learn basically an entirely new system to build my characters. I know it had good benefits for balance and whatever, and I'm not saying we should go back. Frankly I don't even know enough about it to say how it impacted balance. But I'm just saying the reason for me personally.
  21. I think I hate navigating their bases. I don't think I actually have claustrophobia, but when I'm in one of their bases, I think I should.
  22. It's best to not think of the traffic and urban design in this game too much. That is a path towards madness.
  23. I don't care that much personally. Things seem good enough as is. I am not familiar enough with the current farming meta to know how that would affect things.
  24. Seriously, it is one hell of a set of arcs. I highly recommend them!
