  1. Sorry, gunna have to skip this idea. No reason, i just felt like being contrarian today.
  2. "This character would be alluring to everyone~" Don't tell me who to be horny over, thanks. I can make that decision myself.
  3. This came up in a discussion with some friends. The idea is pretty simple; the teleport points (aleph, beth etc.) are able to be restricted so that only certain ranks can access certain points. By default, teleport points would be accessible by everyone, with restrictions applied on a case-by-case basis for Rank X or above (so, only X rank & above can access this point, and so on). This would mean that non-members cannot access any points that have any restrictions. Whether that is actually doable, probably not! But that's what this forum is for, right?
  4. I'd be down for this idea, though that being said, outside of AE arcs, I find myself not doing a lot of Level 44+ content anyway. If there was a way to perhaps select which Incarnate powers were available to use, that would be even better. I'd probably run most content with Alpha, Incarnate & Hybrid allowed. Maybe Lore.
  5. Windows are just another type of door for risk takers. And my characters ain't wimps.
  6. I'd like to add on to the OP post and say that "old thing good, new thing bad" isn't really a valid argument. I understand that change can be scary, but I think being open to change is for the best. If you look at contemporary MMOs, like ESO, WoW & FFXIV, they have been through radical changes at some point, and emerged better for it. Now, I'm not saying that Homecoming needs (or could even manage) a similar reimagining, but digging in and refusing to budge will only be harmful in the long term.
  7. I've said before in threads a long, long time ago, that Story Arc/Task Force unique enhancements would be both a good way to diversify how the general populace plays, and as a test bed for new & wacky enhancements. So, you pretty much sold me on that front. Let's imagine, for example, the new Vahzilok arcs. Upon completion, you get an enhancement called Experimental Vahzilok Injector, a Healing enhancement that triggers a Heal over Time on yourself when your health gets low enough. Or something to that effect. I'm just spitballing ideas here.
  8. I agree on the basis that it's player choice to skip taking a power (see: Confront), but from a design point of view, why would you go out of your way to make a power that is intended to be skipped? Why not either A) make a better power, or B) have a blank space where a power should be? I think though, if a power is considered 'unskippable' it should at least be 100% worth it to take. Which I personally feel that Total Focus is, even before these changes.
  9. I don't know if that was the case in the past, but it isn't Mag 4 on the current servers, it's Mag 3. One of the only Mag 4 Stuns in the game is the Widow's Scramble Thoughts, weirdly enough. Ideally, no power in a set should be skippable. Designing a power to be skippable seems to be counterintuitive to designing a set.
  10. If anyone manages to solo ITF +4/x8 with enemies buffed + players debuffed NO deaths i'll throw my hat on the ground and stomp on it.
  11. The former made me throw up in my mouth a bit. The latter? Yeah, I could get behind that.
  12. Yeah, more content would be good. But you don't have to make that content a grind for the sake of, effectively, manipulating a player into playing longer. Other MMOs do this to justify the price of buying & subscription. Homecoming does not have those obligations. I wouldn't be opposed to a costume unique to an AV or a new Story Arc being unlocked by defeating that AV or completing that Story Arc. But I see no reason to artificially inflate someone's playing time.
  13. Can we stop with the doomerism? Please? People stop playing for many, many reasons and there isn't one you could feasibly pin down as "the reason." I sincerely doubt adding in "Defeat 100 X for X costume" will cause a mass return of players.
  14. Maybe it's just me, but I never felt the same rush of excitement when unlocking a costume. I didn't wait all those years for City of Heroes to come back just to run the same cape unlock missions again.
  15. Toxic people? Sure, there are toxic people who play on Homecoming. Just like how there are toxic people in virtually any type of community, not just online. Toxic community? No. Sure, we have our spats on the forum. Sure, General does get heated. But these outbursts are like mere toddler tantrums compared to other online communities out there, particularly competitive games.
  16. It's literally just a character repository. People can only see your characters, at most. You can also check your own inventories across all your characters, a lot more convenient than logging on to each character individually. I mean, I think an opt-in system would be good! I agree on that. But I don't think the principle is inherently bad or invalid.
  17. In what way would it not be a good idea? The City Info Tracker existed during Live, and during the Secret Server years. It's a valuable & convenient tool.
  18. Name hoarding absolutely does occur. Hence why a City Info Tracker would be useful, and would make it easier to see if the person you're seeking a name release from is active or not.
  19. To be honest all of this is a good argument for the creation of a new City Info Tracker.
  20. If there was exemptions that ran off an honour system, that would be far too open to abuse. At that point, what measures do you take? Documents? Witnesses? It's a video game, I get it means a lot to a lot of people but please, it is just a game.
  21. If a friend asks me, "AA, do you want to play Deep Rock Galactic or City of Heroes?", it's almost always going to be the former. Don't get me wrong, this game is special to me. But it's not my most favourite game, since there's been a lot of really good games that have come out since CoH's sunset. And I also got a job, which reduces how much time I can dedicate to CoH. obligatory "ROCK AND STONE" comment
  22. Me: "It's okay guys, it's just random chance. Just think of all the times you did hit :)" Me, after missing a +1 minion 5 times in a row while they kick my ass: "This is bullshit, this whole thing is bullshit, fuck City of Heroes i'm going to play Minecraft instead."
  23. I don't see any reason for the improved stun element on Barrage being any higher than Mag 3. As far as I'm aware, there are very few hard CC (hold, stun etc.) which sit naturally at Mag 4. Only thing that comes to mind is the Fortunata's Scramble Thoughts which is Mag 4. Energy Melee is not a Control set, the Stun element is pleasant secondary effect, not the primary concern.
