Seconded, all whiny complaints notwithstanding. 🙂

It's odd. For many reasons Idiocracy is a movie I should have mad appreciation for — out here in the real world, I write on radical consumer economics — but every time I watch it I am bored and disappointed after about the first fifteen minutes of its making points about that future. It's like an SNL skit that goes on for about three times its actual funny length. The clock tower flashing 12:00, though... 🤣

Can't argue with that. Couldn't resist passing along one of my favorite Max clips, though. Yet another that came all-too-true...

Get Badgemonitor working
Shenanigunner replied to Yep, Nope is right's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
This is a more active alternative, though, instead of having to keep the Badge window open (with all its faults of no-search, no-sorting, no-selectivity). Just as you can look up all your power stats, it's nice to have a little window of the key ones. If you're hunting several long-scope badges, a display you can configure and update would be an asset. However... Ah. Oh, well. No, it's probably not worth a lot of Dev time. If it was just a disabled feature, great, but it's not. I guess if the code/list could be completed in a few hours of time, it would be a balanced request. But if it's basically not complete/truly functional... oh, well. Props to Hunter for finding and suggesting it, though. -

HEY! <waves energetically> No one else (like the rabid badgers?) thinks it would be nice to have a configurable badge-progress window? Especially if it's just a matter of flipping on a code switch? -
Please have players zone in further from the portal in Oro
Shenanigunner replied to Excraft's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It does not *seem* that it would be hard to put several portals around the ring, in the same manner that there are often a number of med-portals in the same area. -
And, runtime fx aside, I could really do without the roar-and-chest-pound animation every time. Especially how that and all other activation animations trigger on zoning. And speaking of binds, few things go better on movement-power binds than the Leadership set.

This. "Lag" issues in the game have very little to do with the client system. If the game runs okay with decent framerate in any busy area, the system is good enough (at those settings). And network speed, if stable, has very little do to with gameplay (well under 1mbps) All of what the OP describes are far more likely due to local-loop latency problems.

Not to keep physically abusing a deceased equine, here, but this is EXACTLY what I mean in all the posts I've made about this. Yep, there's a wiki. Yep, it has pages. Yep, you can find almost any topic in it. But so much of the info on those pages is incomplete (down to "sketchy outline") outdated (back to halfway through Live) and mis-organized (meticulously presenting the timeline of a power or command, so that the actual description/stats/how-to is almost unextractable)... that I wish there was a more concerted effort by Those Who Know taking a minute to be Those Who Update. Wikis are not a one-person or one-authority thing. They are collective... and this 'collective' either needs to step up a little, on a small individual basis, or at least quit referring questions and novices to "The Wiki!" <fx heroic music here> as if it's a useful resource for any but the most experienced and savvy.

👍👍👍 If the code is there and just disabled (as it seems to be)... please! -
YaaS... I've worked in and around all the evolving "as a Service" industries in the last decade. It's a fabulous idea in that it keeps you up to date, in sync with everyone else and offloads a lot of tedious maintenance/update/compatibility issues to the provider. (I, for one, wouldn't go back to standalone Adobe tools; having the suite always up to date and in sync with the industries I use is a vast time- and frustration-saver.) (Not to mention the modern model for games like this.) BuuT... convenient how the model means it's continual pay-to-play, even to keep one sh*tty presentation tool functioning. Which is why I use Office 2016... only because v2010 wouldn't install any more. I will go back to a typewriter before I use Office 365 or even 2019 for my own desktop.

Someplace I wish I could ask the devs about

That's like some of the towers (in Steel) have windows you can see into. Interesting, when you find them. -
For a select few: "Yer right, Joe. It does sound like the patter of rain on a tin roof." ⛑️

It depends on what you need to accomplish. If any old word processor, spreadsheet, browser etc. will do, it absolutely doesn't matter which version of Win, MacOS, Linux or whatever you run. If you have to meet/mesh with professional worlds, you can't run no-name, off-brand, hacked-registration stuff. IOW, I don't think there has been a release of Windows I didn't use, except maybe 8, because its horrors were quickly eclipsed by 10. And funny, I could swear I heard Bill say "Windows 10 will be the last version of the OS, because we don't believe in micro-upgrades any more."

I ... don't think I've seen this before.
Shenanigunner replied to Greycat's topic in General Discussion
Well, I'm sure that's interesting to anyone who can see anything on the almost totally black screen. Maybe the FB thought they had privacy in the darkness. But yeah, any time NPCs get caught in a loop of doing something weird, it's fun. -
Paragon Dance Party deserves an update.

Bases have to be "known" to enter. PDP is for everybody. So. Any efforts appreciated... it's a nice little place, deserves not to be forgetabandoned. -
Does anyone just like... play regular?
Shenanigunner replied to Forager's topic in General Discussion

I'd hope a Dev has a spare hour to make these tweaks. None seem like more than flipping a few switches. -
Gunslinger costume is hilarilously bugged. My cape and kilt remained, giving an utterly strange effect... cowboy drag queen? Screenshot when I have a minute. I do love vigilante-ing around as a freak tank, though!

On the other hand, some of the loudest trash-talk tossed at Windows was over its weak security and lack of virtualization. So MS finally adds pretty decent virtualization... and the gaming community throws a spaz because they can only get 80fps now. Sigh.

But farming! What are you, some kinda Commie? 😜
-
My charter main was a Fire/SS. That's him (cloned) over in the pitcher winda. Never felt nerfed, but then, I never farmed either.
-
Maybe you didn't have enough headroom?
-
From all I can find, yes, except maybe on employer/government computers with the admin access locked. Win 11 may be the most awfulest thing to ever hit gaming, but if so, it's not because of this.
