  1. VBS can be easily disabled. Next DOOOOOOOOMMMMM?
  2. Inside buildings, no, but there isn't always a Hospital or Store nearby. I am pretty sure I've tried every outdoor location and been Deadite-ed there. Will experiment a little more tonight.
  3. Zombies seem to pop up no matter where you are. When they even pop out of thin air while you're on rooftops and even smokestacks, I don't think standing under a bridge or whatever will stop them. 🙂
  4. I hate zombie invasions more than any other zone event. It's a huge PITA not to be able to even park in a quiet corner to chat or do alt tweaking or even grab a soda. Even on roofs, in water and other ridiculous places for zombies to manifest. However... nothing amuses me more than parking on some high point and watching while zombies continually materialize in thin air and fall to their second deaths. I can just crunch popcorn and giggle for the whole event.
  5. If it was one thing, I'd have fixed it myself. It it's any one thing in general, it's that a lot of the "list" type items are generic templates; someone kindly dumped all of them into entries, but many lack specific information. Many even have flags like PUT ACTUAL PvP VALUES HERE and such. It's like picking up a fine, fat dictionary to find the entries you need just say "Dr Johnson, please make something up here." That, and quite a bit of outdated info no one's bothered to delete, archive or at least push into historical sections. And while the wiki is meant to be the collective record of All That Is, I really hate finding long entries that are the only record of things like power changes and slash commands... meticulously timelined from Issue 1. It's very interesting that a power was added in Ish 7... but I'd rather see the current powers listed usefully, and then such trivia consigned to its own section. Et, Cetera & Soforth, Attys at Law.
  6. Good on ya. There's so much that needs to be done to bring the wiki up to, say, 2019. But oddly, every time I suggest this, I add to my collection of thumbs-downs. It's as if I'm suggesting we fix up that second amendment thingy or something. 😛
  7. Well, yeah, You learn to to recon before rushing in to find a Sapper, Sorcerer, Quantum/Void etc. Which does no good when there's (a second) one just around the corner. Arrrrrggghhhh.
  8. Maybe I'm just an ol-fashioned gennelmun, but I still have some trouble beating the sh*t out of an NPC with a Penthouse rack. Longbow and the humanoid Clockwork, especially. And pounding on the female gang members is almost as bad, despite their more normal physiques (the ones we can't get in Costume Creator...)
  9. I love a good porter, a lot more than stout or yet another medicinal IPA. Oh... those Porters. I find them annoying because they grab your targeting and then zap out of range, leaving you exposed to attacks from the others until you retarget. OTOH, nothing is as much fun as a last shot at a Porter just in time for them to pop away and "defeat" wayyyy over there... As for Sorcerers, same thing except their effin' heals. The only thing I hate more than a Sorcerer is two Sorcerers, healing each other... and the only think I hate more than two Sorcs is a Sapper. Even Quantums rank a little above those.
  10. I blame lawyers. Probably that Chris Jenkins guy.
  11. While such easter eggs are fun, I am having trouble coming up with any sensible lore or story line for this.
  12. You must have reflected on this for a while.
  13. On thing to keep in mind is that the default location of UI save/load files is different for the two launchers. Under Tequila, the default location for bind load/save and most option, window and other files is [GAME ROOT]\data. A bit annoyingly, a few of these files get written to the game root folder. Under HC, all user/UI/save files are written by default to [GAME ROOT]\settings\live. If you put/keep your window, option, bind and other files in that location, you don't need to use any paths to access them (in binds, macros, slash commands, etc.)
  14. See: the Tannis easter egg in Borderlands 2. 😄
  15. You miss the humor here, given my user title, authorship of 140 pages of mostly-binds information, relentless championing of binds and snark at over/misuse of macros. Macros have their place. I have my standard set like most. But as bad, clumsy, screen-clogging substitutes for binds, no.
  16. Well, except for the disruption of hunting through 100 clicky-buttons, no matter how well sorted. It seems to be a mini-game in itself: CoH Concentration. 🙂
  17. Lord Recluse, you evil SOB... is that you?
  18. Well, to be persnickety, it's X Z Y — east-west, up-down, north-south. Never have been sure how the Z axis ended up in the middle; I assume it's something integral to the original engine. ETA: two tricks: Set a 0-0-0 thumbtack in a zone and make a mental note of where that "center" is; it can help you navigate using seat-of-the pants coordinates. And in a hurry, you can often just use 0 for the Z coordinate and still get where you're going.
  19. Right. I think you missed the turn, there. This is not THE macro to enter the base, it's a macro to post an answer to the twice-hourly "So wutz the travel macro agin?" question. It's not two powers — it's one macro to post a chat string that happens to contain a power definition. Is that more clear? I did fully explain it in the guide doc.
  20. It works fine for me, even using your posted snippet. The macro it creates should "say" the line in the currently selected chat. The first part is the actual macro build and icon. The rest is the string posted to chat, including the macro-build string. I have often wondered how many players know you can just enter that passcode, without the whole macro-icon wrapper.ðŸĪŠ
  21. You know you can turn on your own status bars, over your toon's head? /setoption showplayerbars 1 /setoption showownername 0 ETA: Figured it out. Use both commands above to turn on ONLY bars (over your and all player's heads).
  22. Another fairly complex approach, but one that would work well. Macros seem to be adored for their "simplicity" and that they are accessible within the game UI. (At least, many arguments against binds are the opposite: that they are too complicated, can't be learned and somehow "interfere" with the game as it is supposed to be played. If a player is sufficiently savvy to write and manage popmenus and custom windows... binds should be child's play. My system as outlined is for the "I like macros because they're simple" crowd. It's far from the only way to make macros a little easier to maintain.
  23. Gosh, I feel so... naked... The Contact and Mish windows are not usually up, and the Team windows only up for, duh, teaming. Map in the upper left allows easy big-zoom and return without moving it around. Dig the crazy bent power tray. Everything is controlled by fancy binds, of course. F8 brings up AH, Salvage and Recipes in a nice group, center, and dismisses them as well.
  24. Binds. :eyeroll: 😄
