More of a "toggles stay on and suppressed while form shifted" vs a let's change how all toggles work. Kheldians need to be able to keep them on.

Hyperbole and straw men need not apply.

More afkarena, simplified, no tactics required, no consequences, no thought game mechanics are definitely no benefit. Also, breaking the game code is also no benefit. No vote.

"The Game is not Balanced around IO's"..... should it be?

Akalabeth? 🤪 -
Allowing a function to fire all those powers at once is a wholesale change to power activation coding, which would lead to unintended consequences, such as autofiring multiple attacks, or worse. 🆘🤯😉

No thanks, this is a non-issue. No vote.

I find crocs ridiculous. And birkenstocks. Also, people who pay for groceries with cheques. That's still a thing? 65 cents for an extra sauce at a restaurant, now that's ridiculous. The fact that a shampoo pump bottle has yet to be designed that can get the last three pumps out of the bottom... Nope, gotta uncap and shake out that last bit... I digress. -
Can We Please Pin a Thread with Decent Powerset Pairs?
SwitchFade replied to Herotu's topic in Blaster
May I suggest, if you have a combo that you want to play, theme, powers, etc... What are they? We can go over how it will feel, perform and function at SO lvl, basic io set bonus lvl and min/maxed before you even get into mids building. That way, you will know how it feels before you start. From a pure performance perspective though, they can all be made uber. You'll have to seriously invest and play it to learn and develop the abilities and io sets which could be boring if you don't like the theme and feel. I can make AR/Fire into a 54/8 wrecking machinen with cones, jousting and tons of repositioning, but I hate AR, so it's not fun. On the other hand, I love water, so any secondary I pair it with I make work, because I'm having fun. Fire primary is supposedly the "best" but I find it pedantic and boring. I even made a dp/martial, which often is derided as difficult to work and/or underpowered. I love it and it's very powerful. So, what looks and feels really fun to you? From there, the build is easy and you'll enjoy it so much you'll develop the player ability naturally. -

Under one particular condition... Ranged PRIMARY set comparison... That, in and of itself, is the single factor that renders the results good... In that one environment and not representative of anything else. Ignoring the fact I clearly discussed that they have a 5% spread when built and played, as a SET, properly doesn't make it untrue. And, one primary set's ranged damage in one condition and ignoring all other factors of play doesn't make it the defining characteristic of a set of primary/secondary/epic + build + player ability. -
Here... An example... Lusca can already dirt nap you, unless you're built to prevent it, i.e. defense or resist. Now I can prevent the damage, so scaling it up doesn't matter. On the other hand, the squishies that can't prevent the incoming damage... At current damage, squishies can barely survive a single hit, but they can survive. Up that damage? Night night. Sometimes, with my tank, I pull 4 or 5 GMs to portal court for a good old monster mash... And even Brutes get K.O.d in nearly one hit. Little controllers and blasters get insta-gibbed and the knockback ragdolls them into a car, whereupon they take a nice dirt nap with sweet baby jebus. No vote on upping it.

The Sewer Network: What might revitalize this?

Change Sidekick to level rather than level-1

Please allow me to say that I respect your opinion and preferences, but they are most decidedly not facts; much the same as mine are not. Facts have been established clearly indicating that the SK system is not the cause of the "perceived problem." Making sweeping declarations that insinuate that your views are facts and evidence is questionable. Sidekicking is not peering, wasn't intended to be Many "fixes" solve the original "problem" Source material is valid Backstory is valid Fiction is valid Theme is absolutely valid Game mechanics are valid Nowhere thus far have you presented any real evidence supporting your claim/desire, but I respect it nonetheless; where you begin to lose your audience is with the insistence that you're righteous without any proof. I acknowledge you think that SK is the issue, but I'm sorry, facts refute that. There is a wider issue, which has more to do with purple patch needing adjustment on how it affects support sets as @Replacement mentioned, MMs being hosed and no warning text to team lead that a +shift in difficulty is dangerous to your SIDEKICK, so protect them, and so on. Outliers are not median benchmarks. They should be addressed though. -
Hazard Zones: what might revitalize these?
SwitchFade replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
If we're actually discussing realistic changes that would happen sooner than later on a limited volunteer platform, this is the way to go. Theory crafting about how a refresh a la faultline or astoria is great... But if we want to propose a real change that would have a very measureable improvement, is achievable in a shorter amount of time, this is it. Hazard raids on rotating weekly timers with alert Ambushes and patrols Forced GM spawns on quick timers Increased mob spawns a short new story arc Merit rewards No real big changes to maps, mechanics or graphics. Leverage existing assets and create a rotating event. Small investment of a single story arc or repeating missions, rewards for "street sweeping", GMs causing havoc, ambushes and patrols. Basically, an overrun mayhem zone that throws everything at you. -
Change Sidekick to level rather than level-1

I think @Replacementmakes some great points. Plainly, and what I highlight, is that we have yet to actually defined the real cause. There is opining about a symptom, not a cause. Currently, there are too many variables that cannot be clearly and conclusively identified as the prime contributor that causes the problem. -1? Not always the direct cause, fixed with other currently available measures Diff setting too high? Always the direct cause. I want to be succinct here there is no situation under which lowering the difficulty does not fix the problem stated. Again, this one possible remedy works in ALL cases to solve the problem stated. All ATs/Sets affected? No, my stalkers can fight at +5 happily. My blasters can fight at +5 in teams. My controllers and defenders with leadership can overcome it for the team. All teams affected? No, if two or more leadership powers are running, this negates the -1 These are some examples. Clearly, if we list case examples and define all the probable causes, it's clear a simple -1 shift is not conclusively the cause. For this reason I'm not arguing that it's liked or disliked; merely that, at the present time, there is no conclusive evidence to reject the null hypothesis/state that the current system is NOT the cause. Too many other factors solve the issue. Further, if we shift up +1, it actually causes OTHER issues. So, for a purported change, there's no clear evidence that -1 is the cause, that removal would solve it and NOT cause other issues. For example, if I claim "taking a Shower causes mildew in my bathroom, the solution is not to shower," I am completely ignoring that moisture itself is not the cause, excessive un-evaporated moisture that allows fungal growth to occur IS the cause. I have multiple solutions at my disposal (dry excessive moisture, clean regularly, shorten shower length, etc), and each would solve the issue... But one stinks 🤪😋🤣🤣 I want to be abundantly clear here, I am not saying that shifting up 1 would not solve the original problem, I am saying that it is not the direct cause, that it DOES come with a new set of issues and that going nuclear has consequences. -
What's a healer? 😋😋

Elec on sents is smoother, quicker and feels better. Blast elec is higher damage, but that's just because it's the blasty AT. I still prefer sent elec. By far.

Take master, don't look back. Seriously, take master. Don't even debate it.
-
Seconded. And, gm's already DO 1.1 shot people. In game, just ask lusca about that one time... At band camp... Or DE GMs about that Monster mash in portal court... On the forums... Just ask @GM Arcanum about (censored) 🤪🤪🤪

Definitely not. (Most likely) 🤪

Change Sidekick to level rather than level-1
SwitchFade replied to BelleSorciere's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
That's not accurate at all. A consensus is not the perpsective of me, you or the other 5 posters here. There are some here who don't like the SK system and there are some who do like it. There's no convincing argument to change it. There's also factual proof that the system has no systemic issues. Hyperbole about being kicked when down also doesn't make a claim based on little data any more factually substantive. I get it, some in this thread don't like to be -1. Some people in this thread like it fine. But a consensus requires a MUCH larger sample set of the population of players, which we most decidedly do not have, yet. Until then, hard no vote to changes, based on evidence. -

Uh, any/any is the answer. Confused facing the answer doesn't change it, and anyone thinking that "fire/elec" outperforms water/bio or ice/atomic or elec/temp or ANYTHING... Is just limited by... Drumroll.... Operator Error 🤪 If you really play a blaster, all the sets are good, and all of them can be combined. There's maybe a 5% spread, really, anything can be top tier. It's all about how you use it... No offense, but this is a thread now seeking an answer to a question that already has an answer. Unless the desire is "which set combo requires least amount of effort, tactical use and/or has "win" button?" In which case, the answer is "none/none" -
