Run the extra PCs on the same network and then just RDP to them, one on each of your monitors? Might have to deal with some window borders, but it should work...

Open Sourced Code and Free Licence for all CoH IP in non-for-profit ventures. Basically, full access to everything for everyone, provided they are not out to make a profit. I don't want to see a single entity 'own' CoH access - if HC gets it, the world should get it.

issue 26 Patch Notes for August 27th, 2019
jubakumbi replied to Leandro's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
My real hope is that someone with more time than I have will create a CoH Customizer and make changing the sound effects, animations, icons, etc. all 'easily' configurable. This would in turn mean the 'back end' game developers to just focus on the server side, allowing the clients to change w/o having to 'force' cosmetic changes to everyone. A man can dream. We need to move away from the idea the server-runners control everything, IMO. -
issue 26 Patch Notes for August 27th, 2019

So, how do we know if these changes increse or decrease population? Tha is the kicker, IME. The number that hate it and leave could be much smaller than the number that is serves and retains - no one knows. MMOs always change, it is the nature of the beast, as you have point out, so this will never end and no MMO company can please all of the people all of the time. One person's reason is another person's pet peeve. In this case, the changes will just continue to roll ahead, just look at some of the other rogue instances! Since we all the ability to literally change anything locally, I see things like this as a complete non-issue, simply because the client can be so customized. The changes to such low stealth costs and no speed reduciton make stealth OP, IMO, for example, and we cannot change those, but whatever, we all get the same advantage from it... Your main argument seems to be around a 'few people' changing things 'for everyone' - but that is the way the world works... I feel your pain, because IMO, the most humans that control the levers of power are, in fact, insane as the believe in things that are not real and make decsions for the general populus based off of those superstitions...the needs of the few in power always override the needs of the many. -
Mostly, because I don't care about in-game resources, I will just earn more the next time I play. While I do try and not make bad mistakes, I am in no way interested in spending my gaming time worrying about virtual pennies that I can easily get by playing the game. I make builds with soft-capped defences and all the bling, without having to pour over the minutae of squeezing out the maximum profits. As I have stated elsewhere, when I am playing I want to play CoH, not Market Trader or Influence Maker. I know that IS the game for many people and that is cool. Just wanted to toss out the perspective ... lots of ways to play ... without being a slave to the market minutae.

I Tank on all characters, all the time, until there are no more insirations... I do enjoy 'going fast' when everyone is onboard, especially if there are hordes like in the ITF, it often makes even more chaos! Combat Jumping is always a pick for me as well.

What makes playing CoH Fun for You? What makes a Fun Team, to You? For me, it is pure chaos. Having to constantly adjust, assess, and execute to remain standing is the Fun to me, the hectic play, on the edge. Getting multiple spawns attacking, running back to defensive position, getting behind the enemies to draw them away from squishies, trying to hold down the boss until the teams arrives, all of it. For me, the rewards 'just occur' during playing, when I am done I have more than I did when I started, it is not why I play, to me rewards are just a mechancal function of the game, not the reason to play. How about You, what makes a Fun Team or a Fun Session to You?

When you think someone is playing their AT "wrong" ...

So, because the elitist community focused on Rewards/per second has been very good at convincing the general populus the KB = Bad? If the vocal minority that dislikes KB so much was not as powerful, you would. The more I read, the more I think I will start building these teams. -

Where did I mention I wanted these team leaders to change? I simply opined my opinion. If that is the way some people like to have fun, more power to them. It seems to me this activity is considered the 'norm' or the 'mean', regardless of my personal opinion. Kick whomever you like. Dictate whatever you want on 'your' teams. Won't change my opinion on the human behaviours involved. -

TBH, as soon as someone uses the word 'leech' or 'leeching', I tend to stop listening...they are already far too judgmental for me. It's a game. This entire 'leeching' idea comes from the progression raiders worried over not getting world firsts. Turning entertainment time into work is just ... wrong, IMO. I have voted to kick about 3 people on decades of online gaming, starting with MUDs. Unless the player is verabally abusing or is in some way preventing the group from progressing mechanically, there is no reason in my book. I am here to play games and laugh, not dicktate. Again, there sure are a lot of judgemental players in CoH it seems... -

When you think someone is playing their AT "wrong" ...
jubakumbi replied to PaxArcana's topic in General Discussion
Wow. I read many posts in this thread, and all I really see is, "Join a team and get Drama Drama Drama..." Am I really the only person that just plays this game to laugh and destroy some pixels, without all the posturing and attempts to change other humans? I just Play. I see pixel-based bad-guys and make them explode in bigger pixels. Some characters make them go flying around, others hold em down while we beat on them, some punch everything in the face that they can... That's it for me, just playing a game. All the 'elementary school playground' Drama just makes me wonder about the real age of the player-base sometimes. 😉 I thought we were older Adults... -

It has aways been hilarious to me that people take KB as some sort of personal insult and that the KBer must be a troll as opposed to just having fun. KB is a part of the game. This was more of an issue on Live in-game IIRC, I have already had a few discussions early on in-game on HC, nothing lately. I totaly agree that in-game it is never an issue for me, mostly because I solo pr play with a RL buddy to avoind the useless drama MMOs bring in PUGs. Your description of degrees and extremes is spot-on. -

The way I see it, not all character powers mesh perfectly for maximum XP/minute...and that's when the game gets FUN...IMO...and the FUNs/second increases... Some people still play MMOs like they are on an assembly line that demands maximum production... -

Home Improvement. Table Top RPGs. Collectable Card Games. Botanical Photography. Trying to write a book. A couple hundred games on Steam. Mostly, I like things that involve interactive entertainment, not just consuming what others create.

TBH, like so many of the complaints, I pretty much only see the KB whining and 'play my way' on the forums, not in-game. The issue for me is that the 'typical player base' reads the forums and assumes from that reading the general nature of the community. Therefore, if I see people complain about how others choose to play the game, especially with a feature like KB, a fundamental part of the game and comics, then I speak out, because I will not watch KB take crap from players without saying something. IME, as soon as someone is complaining about KB, the next thing they are concerned about is herding well for the AOEs to function perfectly so the xp/minute ratio stays where they want it.... I am here to play a game, not maximize slot machine profits like a job. I just leave teams that have players who choose to play in a way that irritates me. If I see someone complain about KB or any other game feature, in-game or out, then I will speak out, and I will advocate that person leaves the team or learns to play the 'whole game', rather than restricting other players form using normal, fun, in-game features. If someone wants to play on a server w/o KB, for example, they can go make one, IMO. -
Hypothetical Scenario If the Deal Succeeds
jubakumbi replied to Abraxus's topic in General Discussion
With success will come all of the good and bad aspects of this. It just 'is'. If everyone is welcome to play, we will get the good and the bad. My issue is really far more based on humans taking personal responsibility over just having everyone else expend effort for them. It is not something, IMO, that will ever go away and will rise exponentially if the floodgates open. One of the prices to be paid for success. -

I disagree. KB is a part of the game, if you don't like it, leave the team. KB hate is BS. The 'herding' mentality hurts this game more than anything like knockback, this incessant need to use a formula for each and every spawn is the real evil, IMO. -
Hypothetical Scenario If the Deal Succeeds
jubakumbi replied to Abraxus's topic in General Discussion
TBH, IMO, asking in-game is already a red-flag for me. If someone has access to the game, they have access to the Internet and therefore all the data they need, rather than having others stop playing to tell someone how to play. Add to that, as you mention, the ability to test anything in game by either choosing it and respeccing or on the test server, having all of the data on the powers is in the game, and any in-game requests for such data become even more cumbersome on other players. When I am in the game, I am there to play, not teach others how the rules work, or ask others to stop playing to do so for me. I find the 'baby birds' that want it all 'laid out in a row' to be more annoyingly lazy than anything. Just my PoV. *shrug*
