  1. I would think that it could be done by adding "Symbols" as a category to the Back Options group, using the existing attachment point for backpacks and wings, since either of these would interfere with a symbol on the back, and you wouldn't have both. But that's just 'where does it hook to the costume'; there would still need to be the code changes to render them on the back.
  2. And this nudged my memory, turning up an old Phil Foglio cartoon:
  3. As far as I can tell, you can only have one 'event' happening in a zone at a time. I've seen it in Skyway when a team finished the penultimate mission of a Synapse TF, exiting back into the zone to find a zombie invasion, and Babbage never spawned. I don't know if they 'stack up' or not, but I've been ToTing in Kallisti Wharf several times during a banner event and had a zombie invasion pop up within seconds of the banner event ending.
  4. There is a tree growing out of the brickwork wall on the east side of the university complex in Steel Canyon:
  5. With the original (and current) Paladin event, it was fairly common to see three Paladins standing around in the park behind the building that the Shining Stars were held hostage in front of. Eventually the devs put a despawn timer on the Paladins so they would go away if no one defeated them; I remember playing 'tickle the dragon' with my Blasters before that to aggro a Paladin up out of the park and train him north to where the police drones at the road to Galaxy City would frag him.
  6. Tell that to the Longbow Cataphract Essence or Banished Pantheon Ravager Essence standing on the portal. I ran into that situation the other day, and there was physically no way for me to click on the portal because it was inside the lore pet. It took another character zoning in with one of the big lore pets pushing the Cataphract out of the way for me to be able to click on the portal. The change the HC staff made to remove the collision box from the various portals makes a lot of things easier, but it allows a portal to be completely obstructed.
  7. Put in a Celerity:+Stealth IO, and now you have stealth you can't turn off. Also, it's an auto power, so any IO with end reduction is wasted, which makes a third to two-thirds of the sets either worthless or inferior to slotting a regular Run Speed or Flight Speed enhancement. This appears to be a disguised way of asking for an additional place to slot the BotZ knockback protection and WG slow protection for Electric Armor characters.
  8. An idle thought I had the last time I was cruising through Atlas Park -- it obviously can't be done for this year, but there are two big cauldrons full of candy on the east and west sides of the central plaza. It would give them a bit of a 'treat' flavor if you could click on a cauldron and (on, say, a five or ten minute timer) get a random small inspiration.
  9. They're broken even more than that. On the missions where you have to save several items, they're always stacked at different 'depths' on the map. So you enter the mission, proceed until you find the first item you have to save, and defend it, then move deeper into the map to find the next, and clear the mobs around it... then the ambushes coming to attack it don't show up, because they spawn at the mission entrance and get 'distracted' by the first item you saved, destroying it before either heading in further or just milling around aimlessly. The items you have to protect need to vanish after you successfully defend them so they don't screw up the AI of subsequent spawns (figuring that doing that is simpler than reworking the mob AI).
  10. The declaration from the devs, IIRC, was that with two animated 'capes' it couldn't be done with the existing cape code. But since you can have a regular cape and the Tech Knight belt with the buttcape option, having two flapping cloth bits isn't the restriction, so I would guess that there isn't an attachment point on the character models for the front cloth, but it should be possible to work with the existing model for the Tech Knight belt to make something like the fore-and-aft sashes work. I don't know how the costume rigging works, so it's just a guess, though.
  11. The double moon was, I think, an attempt by the devs to account for the visual illusion of the Moon being bigger when it is close to the horizon, except that it didn't work well, but was left as is because fixing it was so low on the priority list. That the Moon is still much larger than it should be was concerning enough that I bothered to do the math to check whether it was close enough to be within the Roche limit (which I also did for Voss in SWTOR... yes, I'm a geek).
  12. The moon has been rising South by West and setting North by East in all the zones for as long as I can remember all the way back into Live. What's equally disturbing is that, despite orbiting at right angles to the ecliptic, it's still always full. After I tried asking the devs about it, I decided to handwave it as fallout from the Rikti invasion -- the portal they sent their ships through warped the moon's orbit to what it is now. And for those who don't recognize the directions I used, they come from the 32 points of the compass (north, north by east, north northeast, northeast by north, northeast, northeast by east, east northeast, east by north, east, etc.), and being able to 'box the compass' (recite all the points in order) was a skill expected of a sailor. Yet another of the odd bits of knowledge I've acquired over the years. (And if you think that's a lot, for fine measuring there were quarter-points, and back in the Age of Sail a sailor would be expected to know all 128 of them.)
  13. I have the same problem with Heather Townsend while doing her arc as a Flashback; the interface opens, but nothing will sell.
  14. The only 'special Korean parts' it has is that it includes the anime-style costume pieces that were added prior to the abortive Korean beta; since we got all those pieces as part of one of the costume packs (which are all unlocked in HC), it's got nothing you haven't seen before.
  15. 3. I didn't comment on it because you threw enough different powers into it that "burning the use of that power until it recharges" is sort of moot, although many people only have one of them. Still, all it requires is throwing enough inf at the P2W vendor to address. 4. Having the 'solution' to a problem being requiring a specific power choice on the part of the players with the problem is not viable, either. 5. I used quote marks to indicate paraphrasing. "Just click the exit and grumble about it later" is both 'suck it up' and a 'not my problem, I can't be bothered to care' attitude. Yes, your alternatives don't involve the HC staff... and every single one of them amounts to "suck it up, find a way to deal with it, and stop bitching about it". This was a thread describing a problem -- one I've had myself when I try to click on the portal in Ouroboros on the occasions when there were a tight mass of characters jammed tightly around the portal to the point where it took me over a minute to find a viewing angle where I could a) see the diamond in the glare of more than two dozen visual effects, and b) click on it without having someone's character in the way -- to see if there were enough other people who had the same problem to toss it up to the HC staff for consideration for a change to address the problem. Every single suggestion presented on the forums would involve work on the part of the staff -- but if no one ever brings up a problem, they won't know that there are people who consider it a problem, and it will continue to be a problem.
  16. 1. ...along with everyone else in your SG and the other people that you regularly group with. Not logistically feasible. 2. ...after the wait for your Ouro Portal recharge, because you used it to get to Ouro in the first place. Adding a several-minute wait is even more inconvenient than trying to fish out the exit from the crowd. 4. ...if you have a teleportation power. 5. "Just suck it up" is a fairly insensitive suggestion, in essence the "It's not a problem for me, so your opinion doesn't matter" attitude. Rather than moving the arrival point or imposing an intermittent repulsion field, a potential solution would be to alter the Ouro portal graphic and activation point to make it taller, putting the targetable part high enough that it doesn't get buried among all the people standing at the arrival point. The third-person view that is the default in the game makes raising the target point a negligible change for the players.
  17. In the invasions, new mobs spawn to the NE of characters, with the chance and size of the spawn dependent on the size of the group of characters. If the spawn position is in mid-air, the spawned mobs will fall to the ground; if the spawn position is inside the ground or a building, the spawn will be canceled. Because of the range limitations of the melee characters, unless you're willing to 'take fire' from a new spawn until it closes with you, characters will follow the new spawns to engage them, producing the migration of the fight.
  18. There are a lot of characters for whom Julius Fucik's "Entry of the Gladiators" would make appropriate theme music... 😉
  19. Blame the predictive options in the keyboard software on my tablet; I typed it as 'carmena', but the 'default' choice was 'carmen', and I didn't notice.
  20. Try listening to the Missa Hilarious, S. N2O, by PDQ Bach, one of his few pieces of religious music, discovered in the Vatican archives along with other documents pertaining to PDQ's excommunication... 😉
  21. I was having abusively bad rubberbanding on Excelsior on Monday, in one case jumping back almost a minute's flight -- halfway across the RWZ -- and taking more than a dozen tries to get from the RWZ base entry to Lady Grey. Later I had the oddest case of a bad connection, where I was zoning via the tram, had the connection hang, drop back to the sign-in screen, then when I was about to sign in again, it jumped to the zone loading screen and eventually dropped me in the tram station in the new zone. I attributed it to a network glitch, logged out for about five minutes, then back in, and the rubberbanding was mostly gone, just some minor jerkiness.
  22. No, it's not; I routinely pick up missions from Rick Davies and Azuria on starting characters along with Matthew Habashy, regardless of the character's origin.
  23. We'll just have to sentence you to listening to "Hansel and Gretel and Ted and Alice", an opera in one unnatural act, by PDQ Bach, S. 2n-1. The work was a commission for the Vienna Opera Company, and PDQ had almost finished when he discovered that the Vienna Opera Company consisted of Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Vienna and their little boy Rudy. Since the work had seven speaking parts, he at first despaired of getting a performance, until Frau Vienna convinced him to rewrite it so that she could sing all the female parts and Rudy the male parts, while Herr Vienna played the piano, decked out in his best suit of formal attire... the famous Tails of Old Vienna... And if that doesn't fill you with trepidation, there are other works of his we can subject you to...
  24. Using Wormhole with "up:max" as a destination has an odd bug -- sometimes, the mobs you loft have a Wile E. Coyote moment and forget that they're supposed to fall, and remain standing in mid-air.
  25. I tried that in Kallisti Wharf yesterday, but couldn't get enough damage on them before they hit for the impact to kill defeat them, so I don't know.
