  1. Im sure you are. I don’t claim to know copyright law, certainly not as well as members of my family who ARE lawyers. Like I said, I work in supply chain, specifically as an Inventory Specialist and prior Traffic Flow Analyst. You do NOT want to ask me about legal matters lol. But what I do know is if that part of the CoC highlighted info about copyright infringement characters that’d be great. I don’t know what any of you do, for all I know you could very well be lying about working in a law firm, or better yet, you could just be some little assistant to the ACTUAL lawyer in the firm, again I dunno. Hell you could doubt me too. Alas, thats the fun of the internet. *And, assuming you’re not lying, I shouldn’t need to say that there are MANY many many subsets of well…lawyer. Civil law, environmental law, corporate lawyer, criminal…you get it. One may know more about something like copyright than another.
  2. Hiya. You’ll want to join the CoH discord for the most up to date builds(if you’re wanting that type of thing) and information. The forums are best for guides on money making and binds and such.
  3. Oh wow nerds arguing about copyright law and NONE of them have ever practiced law! This’ll be fun. * But as the OP pointed out it could be good to maybe I dunno highlight that part about infringement or whatever if its really an issue? I haven’t been on in a little while until yesterday and when I did get on I didnt see any supermans or batmans or what have you. What server are you seeing this on OP? *Google gives you an idea of how its supposed to work, but thats not always how it plays out, or maybe even in modern days, usually how it plays out. Its like how I read about certain things and practices in supply chain, but having been in it, seen how it kinda sorta mostly works that way but definitely not always, or even times where it straight up threw the definition out the window. Point is, I don’t think its a good idea to argue law at each other. This isn’t court and none of you are lawyers.
  4. I just slapped em on ignore. It’s their right to post contrarian crap and its my right to ignore it. I’m not wasting my breath telling you what you can and can’t post, and I’m not wasting my time reading something I know will be poorly thought out or asinine. I suggest for others they do the same. There is an ignore function on these forums for a reason.
  5. You must have not played on Freedom
  6. Could you direct me to their discord?
  7. Dont hold it. It provides a shield to rommy when held making your life worse
  8. Ehhhhh I think you might be overstating the difficulty of 4* just a bit. I’ve done too many to count, and while most had me as a Cold either corr or fender, I also brought a Fire/Dark corr that focused on damage, Tohit Debuff, and had ehhh I dunno at least 35%-40% ranged def? I should mention i did a LOT of HM when it first came out and lead one of the first successful HM ITFs while stoned, and it wasn’t a 1 or 2 star. I’ve also been on blitz 4* ITFs while stoned and it only had 1 cold in it I believe. This content really isn’t some uber minmax thing like it’s made out to be. Sure you’re “stun stack” builds or “range capped” builds won’t contribute as much as say the meta, but it won’t drag the team as much as you think. Again, I would know, I’ve seen my fair share of all starred content ranging from 2*-4*. All kinds of team comps. The biggest determinant? Being able to read. Like holy shit this is SERIOUSLY the biggest issue. If you can’t fucking read, your HM run will be shit. *grumbles about dumb team members who couldn’t read about breaking LOS for Rommy*
  9. Would you mind posting this fire blaster’s build? I mean, I’m not interested in copying it I already have mine and its solid for HM 4 but this is too funny. Let’s see this amazing fire blaster
  10. Not really. CoH is not competitive and the only people who care about being better than others at CoH are usually(probably always) bad at every other game that actually requires skill and is competitive, it’s like being the loser in every situation except potato chip eating then thumping your chest that you scarf down whole bags better than everyone else. I don’t care if everyone can do +4x8, and I’m sure a lot of people don’t either because they usually are focused just on having fun. Nothing in this game has meaning, not even 4* Omega K’ong. *I should say even in games with actual skill ceilings and higher floors than the hardest content in CoH, people don’t care about what others do unless its something like Apex.
  11. Guides have been streamlined to the point where all that difficulty you mentioned can be learned with an iota of research minus any nitty gritty things like actual damage numbers thanks to CoD shenanigans. It’s not intuitive, but that doesn’t make it difficult to grasp. Once you’re aware of the system, it’s fairly simple to learn. Proof is I learned it as a 10 year old back in the day. It just really REALLY needs to be made clearer to the average player I’d say. And that last bit was because it felt like you were suggesting this game has some high skill ceiling, which it really does not, to me implying you haven’t so much as touched an actually difficult game. The souls series and soulslikes come to mind, or even crash bandicoot back in the day. Disregard **I want to be perfectly clear in this, I do NOT want to gatekeep in any way by saying if you dont play souls games or soulslikes you cant talk about difficulty, I just have in the past seen a litany of people come through with this haughty and dismissibe attitude of player complaints because they have some builds that solo +4x8 or speed through HM 4 or whatever and are out of touch. Its my way of trying to bring them back down to Earth and understand, such achievements don’t give you the right to dismiss others, and that there are always better players than you.
  12. Thats very true! But It’d be very remiss of me to not acknowledge how this game gave me the reflexes to play disc priest in WoW or Feral Druid, or how it taught me to play counselor in Star Wars Old Republic. Its a wonderful training wheels MMO, just like another crab’s treasure is a wonderful introduction to soulslikes
  13. Yeah it all makes sense now. Council weren't good for MM during beta test and it was made known several times how basically the group is overly harsh to the AT with all the AoE flying around.
  14. What are you talking about? You must not play the same game because people literally avoid Carnies and Malta to this very day because of how annoying they are for a good majority of the playerbase
  15. Now this I disagree with. There is a wide berth of difficulty available in the form of HM and MoTFs. It’s easy for me and you probably because we’ve done this song and dance before, but I wouldn’t say, if Pug experiences are to go off of, that it’s easy for everyone. But we forget, CoH is basically the casual training wheels of MMOs; useful to get you familiar with MMO mechanics minus holy trinity because blegh. All’s to say there will be options for a more challenging experience for those who claim to want it, but there also should be some relax and chill groups too. Least that’s my opinion. *PS: For those who claim to want a challenging game, while we wait for new more challenging groups to be added to CoH, might I recommend Another Crab’s Treasure? That’s a whole gamut of challenge and fun right there imo
  16. I wouldn’t say it’s harder personally, it’s still the same ish CoH to me. If anything Council got kind of a lateral adjustment. Nothing really new to learn with the group, it’s just tedium incarnate for solo players in the faux pass of difficulty. I view HM as the same. It’s only difficult in the vein of learning the new enemies in say a first run. And even then, if you stack the team in a certain way, that assessment doesn’t hold true either. I do get where OP is coming from. I was miffed council were going from my get stoned and bash some heads group to ugggh you mean I have to slog through a group of bullet sponge self rezzers?!? But claiming this group had a learning curve added to it(not by you, but others) makes me wonder if whoever says it has ever played other games with actual difficulty and real learning curves.
  17. You sound dismissive of their argument. And you talk of learning a games mechanics…in city of fucking heroes, the game with a floor so low it makes the center of the earth look like mount everest. How many difficult games do you actually play, I wonder?
  18. I was waiting for the obligatory pitch fork against farming and here it is. I have to offer the obligatory counter in that some of the objective worst players in the game that I have ever had the indecency of teaming with have played the game normally from 1-50. Usually the better players, the vets if you will, PL their alts to 50 because they’ve seen it all and just want a new 50. It really depends on the mindset of the player in question, leveling from 1-50 does not make you a good player, it just means you prefer that method. You can still learn and have godawful habits from 1-50.
  19. What are you doing solo in a hami raid thats of an significance? The only reason people play solo in this instance is because they missed a spot on the league, or want to troll. You trying to make it easier for trolls?
  20. Why are you against this suggestion then if it literally doesn’t affect you? This is as asinine as the beanbag folks were
  21. I’ve been playing this game in chunks while I wait for my medical info to be processed for a new job, and I have to say, it’s a solid soulslike experience that’s tough but fair with something souls games themselves don’t have; accessibility options that make the game easier. I’m currently playing with only increased dodge windows on and everything else on hard and even with the increased dodge windows, I’m still finding myself challenged in a great way in boss fights, hungrily looking forward to the next boss. 10/10 would recommend, as this isn’t your typical soulslike. It also has a solid and humorous story that tackles some serious issues with ocean pollution and has heartfelt characters. It’s free on gamepass, so if you have that, its as easy as a quick download. If not, it’s $30. It’s also by an indie studio!
  22. The only good aura in dark is the damage one and OG. CoF has terribad accuracy and is unreliable, but if it makes you happy take it for your builds.
  23. Im a bit weird in that I either leave everything at +1x8(I solo on this diff so I also team with it too.) or consult the team if going higher. For the folks thinking maxing out the diff is some kind of metric, I always tell them one of two things; HM is right there. It literally has baked in +4 AND stat sticks er uh I mean “boosted” enemies to try and prove how much of an “elite challenge seeking gamer” you are. Or I tell them the second thing; There’s Another Crab’s Treasure, Remnant II, all of the dark souls series, Stellar Blade, Elden Ring…the list goes on. For ultimate challenge if HM isn’t enough for you. There is a small sliver that want more team play which I mean I get but thats coming with either this upcoming page or a later page that I can’t really discuss
  24. Peregrine doesnt play AE and doesn’t post very helpful information usually so its best to have them on ignore ASAP. Anyone who does uses the search function at all times and inputs an ID, its why everyone who post an arc they want played list their ID alongside a brief summary. Call it storyteller etiquette.
  25. To any of the OG Devs: Were you ever at any point planning to add advanced difficulty or raid tiers to iTrials to spice up old content and keep them relevant with your newer incarnate slot additions?
