  1. I get what you're saying, but to rebuttle, relentless isn't all that difficult, just....tedious. So very very tedious. At least Aeon makes it kinda worth your while by giving 10 extra PAPs for the AV fight. I think HM overall is a big failure and waste of resources that could of been spent elsewhere, but that's a rant for a whole 'nother thread. And just using the smallest amount of common sense, two TFs aren't going to satisfy people for long.
  2. Pretty much hit all the big ones during my time out: WoW: Got me a lvl 75 or so druid. Very fun and pretty decent at PvP on that toon. Then came back again in WoD(hated it) and got a priest to the late 60s before quitting SWTOR: Made an inquisitor and a counselor. It was okay, except for the whole nickle and dime thing they did with power trays. CO: Ended up here the longest. Got a lifetime sub and honestly didn't hate the experience completely. Very holy trinity garbage and constant nerfs later on though. Kinda makes me paranoid when I see lots of nerfs lobbied for here, as well as my fear initially for HM being holy trinity WoW experience(it's mostly just a zerg with 7 corrs and a scrapper/tank, so not sure if that's better really) Honestly, as controversial as it may be to say, I enjoyed my time away from CoH. It provided me with a lot of time to reflect, and forced me out of my socially awkward phase of my life. The best thing to ever happen to CoH was the shutdown, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
  3. Homages have always been allowed. Problem with CoH players is that a lot take homage to mean direct copy, so they get rightfully genericed to the point where I think it would be beneficial for someone to pin a message with the literal dictionary definition of what homage means.
  4. My condolences to her friends and family. May she rest well and be at peace.
  5. Usually some form of chip like Pita chips, lays. I'll also eat apple slices and peanut butter just to have something healthy every once in awhile.
  6. It's in your best interest to do like everyone else on the forums does and put this person on ignore.
  7. As soon as I get one, maybe I will 😛
  8. Nope! I'm worse as a CoH player in my opinion and average as a person in real life. I try my best to be cordial to people out in the real world, because you never know who you're interacting with. But in CoH i'm meaner (i.e. I will never as long as I live offer another farm to this community, especially since the fire farm nerfs and seeing how farmers were viewed. Nor will I donate, outside of Dacy's base stuff, to any CC's or individual events.)
  9. I have too many alts to count how many are of one origin. If I had to make a pie chart, it would look something like this: Magic: 85% Science: 5% Mutant: 3% Technology: 6% Natural: 1% I find most of my magic toons are normal spell caster types who are young adults trying to find their own way in the City. They usually fit into the rogue alignment, as most wouldn't bother with heroics (When there are literally thousands claiming to be heroes, why would they waste their time joining the ranks when they could find a better use of their powers elsewhere and make more money? Plus, they have mystical problems to deal with, leave the mundane, to the mundane.). The other origin characters are usually various other supes or hero/villain types they encounter in their journeys, or, in some cases, the relatives of a certain magic character who themselves weren't gifted with magic but decided to take up the hero mantle since their relative won't do it themselves.
  10. I made a Doomsinger Warlock who's whole shtick is this. He's poison/fire. Poison is subtle, like curses, and fire for hellfire reasons.
  11. We went from me and my brother watching our dad play CoH back in i6 as kids to adults playing it together as adults with HC after the shutdown. We play together from time to time, but we've all kinda gotten a bit burnt out so we're all collectively taking a mini break with the occasional TF run.
  12. Movement: 4/5. Positioning in CoH has some benefits, and over the years I've gotten pretty good at it. Compared to a lot of other games its next to nothing in difficulty (some games have INSANE movements to try and maximize). Leading taskforces/raids: 5/5. I used to lead every iTrial on the virtue days, still could now if I wanted and could get enough people. I also lead multiple starred (3 and 4*) content while inebriated and succeeded on HC. Thats not necessarily a skill thing, CoH has very easy content overall, so leading it isn't as demanding as it could be. Character Builds: 5/5. I can build to any goal I have in mind reliably and affordably. I've taken builds and have done insane things with em. I'd love to eventually share them all once I've got time to do so! Badging: 2/5. Dont care to do it besides explorations and the occasional accolade Key binds: 1/5. I only know how to do the targetting AoE bind and the base TP macro, In-game knowledge: 2/5. I know the major things, but a lot of minor things that add up I tend to forget or just not care about.

    ENERGY MELEE

Yeah im loving my EM/SR stalker for exactly this reason. It's not the 6th best, it's most certainly second best or best for ST melee easily. But, if Ston thinks it's 6th, that's fine too (for him).

    ENERGY MELEE

The only one in this game I trust to listen to is Galaxy Brain, and no offense, neither you nor Ston are them. Outside of that I don't listen to y'all when it comes to best this or that because someone finds a new way to use this or that proc and suddenly the meta's changed. Case n point Rad/MA is now best farming tank when Rad/Fire brutes were top/best. I'd rather play it and build it myself and come to what's the best that way. *The excel sheets may be great references, but they still can't account for player skill, which can take a lackluster set and turn it into at least A-tier. I don't view the sheets as gospel, far from it actually. Probably would do the community some good if they did the same when it comes to picking a set.
  15. I view HM as not great content. I've played all of the starred difficulties, and honestly after 2* it just feels like stat boost with mechanics that can be almost ignored completely (minus the body snatchers from ITF) through barrier cycling. I feel like the difficulty is over embellished by most of the playerbase (see my comment on it being stat boost), and while the rewards are pretty good, it's still a 2-3 hour tedious slog outside of SG runs (if you're not lucky enough to have an SG, you'll probably be stuck on either a 3hr run or never running one to begin with). Props to HM though, it got me trying more mechanics driven games with mechanics driven difficulty and it was like night and day (to be fair, CoH is much older and they did what they could with what they had but still), so I literally can't play HM anymore as I'll be thinking of those more mechanics driven games and longing for something that can't happen. I am very glad those who asked for this got some content to play through, but I personally find HM to be just 'meh'. As far as the incarnates situation? PuGs cycling barrier was to be expected (though SGs do the same thing, especially if they're trying to speed the TF). What I'm horribly disappointed in is the lack of inclusion of most powersets. While sure you shouldn't and probably won't be kicked for bringing say, archery, you can bet your bottom dollar unless they're friends of yours they'd of preferred a fire blaster or another cold corr. I personally also hate that most speed groups are just 5 corrs, 2 blasters and a scrapper or tank. Feels like the cookie cutter crap you'd see in WoW. I get that's typical optimal run for things but it's still pretty gross to see for endgame content.
  16. My biggest concern I'd say is going longform and having an actually interesting story. I'm still going to give it my best shot, but that's what held me back thus far. I may ask here in the future about some ideas I have (hopefully without giving away major story beats), like so: Would you happen to have any mobster names? I need a few for the bosses in this arc and I'm drawing a blank.
  17. I greatly appreciate you taking time to play the arc and I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'll be taking your notes into consideration for my future arcs that I have planned. As far as a narrative goes, I'm workshopping a TV series in the form of AE arcs (I'm terrible at writing scripts, but maybe using AE will help :P). It's my hope that maybe by the end of the year, if not earlier, I can have a two episode premiere for you to play through. Once again, thanks for playing and I can't wait to bring even better material to you and everyone here in the hopefully near future!
  18. But you ARE legendary :D. And thanks! Hope you enjoy it!
  19. Hey there fellow Architects! I wanted to share my first story, Odd Stories [Arc ID: 57289] with you all. It acts as a sort of anthology series of some of your weirder adventures that you(rightfully) don't talk about, or only save for Pocket D. It has what I believe to be a wide range of enemy groups, a few of my OC's as allies, a few bits of comedy, and hopefully a good time for you the player! I would appreciate any and all feedback as this is my first arc out in the wild. Please feel free to note any spelling errors or punctuation issues(I sent it through a spell checker in the form of a few playtesters already and they claim that it's fine, but hey, you can never be too sure.). I look forward to reading your reviews!(and maybe I can get some legends of the subforum looking at the arc. That'd be neat :P)
  20. No because it never happened lmao. But here you are whining for holy trinity. You and people who hold the opinions like you, are the only ones constantly bitching and moaning for some solvable reason or another. I have and will NEVER see a post like you describe, but I WILL see your type of post.
  21. I always wonder, why don't people who want holy trinity do one of two things: 1.) Go play WoW. Seriously it's right there and you don't have to annoy others with holy trinity good yadda yadda. 2.) Team with low levels. Low level play is pretty reminiscent of holy trinity play you so often find in games like the above. CoH should never include more holy trinity. It would only serve to inflate egos, create annoying cookie cutter garbage teams, and waste dev resources. And again, WoW is RIGHT THERE, for $15/mo you can get all the holy trinity you want! Or hell, go play CO. They have holy trinity crap in their endgame AND you get a good costume creator.
  22. I build every toon with the mindset of self-efficiency. That is to say, I build the sturdiest toon I can, then focus on trying to maximize the AT strength, so it'll go a little something like this: Defense Recovery Damage/Recharge CC immunity Seems to be working so far. It's allowed me to tank +2 reichsman on a Blaster with two brutes on the team, or tank most of a Sara Moore TF on a Earth/Ice/Fire dom. My next project is a Storm/Storm corr with near softcap def for well, everything but negative I think and perma hasten(abusing some FF proccage in tornado and Jet Stream).
  23. Yes. Plant Control 😛 I'm going to give Storm/Storm a shot, seeing as storm/rad was a failure(my bad, didn't build for ranged def so ate floor more than im used to. And storm needs you ahead of your team to maximize potential). Good thing is my expectations for the set have been lowered from my time on storm/rad. Solo it'll do wonders, in a team? Well at least I can lean on storm summoning unless I'm two mobs ahead of teammates.
  24. Try your best to get training IOs over SOs. Get a 50. You can get altitis later, get a 50 now so you have a money maker in your roster. Don't have 50 million alts lying around without at least ONE of said alts to fund them. Use attuned IOs when you get the chance, get Mids and play around with builds if you can't find one on the forums(but do be careful with forum builds, some of them can be outdated/not fit your playstyle). Get a farmer, you'll want one for whenever you want to just skip the grind to 50, and for when you want some inf/drops. Learn to play the market, you don't have to do it often, but its' best if you at least know how to do it. Oh, and ATs aren't squishy. BUILDS are squishy if you go too far into offense and no defense. You can and will do ridiculous things within your AT if you build right. If you don't? You and the floor will be friends for life.
  25. Remnant II until BG3 hits PS5 in a few days. Really can't wait till BG3. Gotta make my sorlock tiefling and do some heinous honorable acts for the people.
