This. I hate over the top plots, and REALLY hate handwaving the consequences, so seeing people react realistically to the things going on in this weird city/world is always a breath of fresh air. It’s also why if I had more time on my hands, I would love to join a Neutral SG thats more realistically grounded, where contemplation of these deeper sociological aspects takes center stage.

I couldnt agree more! Had no idea preshutdown how fun AE could REALLY be. So yeah, leading radios and such like I used to and iTrials? Probably not gonna happen very often unless needed

If I want something, truly, be it iTrial or team content I lead it. Used to lead iTrials all the time in virtue during the summers, but now I’m more inclined to be patient and wait on others to try and lead. Some people dont ever want to lead, and thats fine too, not really their thing and I get it.

Not an issue at all. I like to think like this: If it's inspired by the Tropes portrayed by that character, it's fine! Of course I am just one person so not gonna make any waves in what I think passes as good. Like take for instance, I have a Warlock character (well, two, but the other is not inspired by anything.). I feel his personality is based on the tropes that were portrayed by the likes of Constantine. So, basically willing to save his own ass at the end of the day above almost all else. However, my take on this is he's simply trying to get himself a slice of 'the good life' pie for him and his family; no more, no less. (Naturally, he's a rogue).

This. While I’m no hardcore RPer, even seeing these makes me sad. A whole game of creativity, and then you literal have clones passed as «Homages» like these. For those who do this, do you, but still, doing this and claiming to be creative is well...contradictory. My other issue thats made me a bit reluctant is the abundance of JLA/Avengers SGs. Mostly because A.) there is not enough vill RPSGs that would even act as the antithesis to these (there are not enough vill SGs period but thats another matter), and B.) I tend to assume that these SG’s will cross the line into direct ripoff territory during their arcs. Never been in one but it’s always a thought in the back of mind.

You must have been playing with some extraordonarily shitty builds then to be guaranteed tougher than those two. I’ve teamed with Invuln and watched them fall on my Tank and Brute, while I was not only in the green, i STILL had a nice chunk of absorb left.

I understand the mindset that people wanna claim invuln and Stone as the best. They used to be, definitely not anymore. It is, most observably, Rad and Bio. They are the polished results of years of armor building. My Bio/Spines, if needed( it almost never is) can become a mini granite tank with none of the drawbacks minus the damage thing with defensive. And Rad is just flat out better than the res sets in the hands of good IO builders

Ooh this is neat! Necro/Dark Poison/Fire( this one solo’d ITF and can probably do crazier stuff) Bio/Spines Grav/Storm Fire/Atomic EM/Rad Brute Demons/Pain Water/Ice blaster If they could be carried over as I currently have them? You’d have an impossible to beat team. The tank doesnt die unless you’ve got SERIOUS debuffs, which you won’t, thanks to the poison/fire. The rest is ridiculous damage, and the nice little off healing and rez of both the /Dark and /Pain. Oh and Necro/Dark being the king of -ToHit.

Couple points that I disagree with: IOs. I tend to see this response as uh..bit too strong yknow? Youd have an easier time having your own server with no IOs. How does that last one make sense. Like sell it to me, if they’re soloing, legit what does that have to do with you?

Perma dom though is NOT an either-or scenario, do keep in mind you can have the res or def you want and still have perma! Im sure the gurus of dominators on the dom forum will have oodles of more useful advice to pass along 😀

You’re right, I dont get tp dictate who replies so apologies there. And so what? So have I. If anything, that means you understand them less and you’re only really highlighting to me your lack of knowledge in the AT. But beyond that, its just the blatantly asinine request of «because I can’t, no one should be able to» mentality that came across in your initial post. Like I said, you cant get perma dom? That sucls. But that doesnt mean everyone else’s build should be hindered. That type of asinine thought process is what vexes me.

Thats about the least logical reply i’ve seen on this forum. And I’ve once made the mistake of reading suggestions. Congrats on not understanding doms. Also when you learn how to build a dom, THEN you can add criticism. Till then, please refrain from it, and especially from chastising others who most definitely understand the AT more(and probably have perma AND capped def)

Yeah no. It takes 56% recharge. Fifty. Sx. The fact you cant do that is apparent in these post. We get it, you cant build a perma dom, doesnt mean its a crutch(my dark/fire will have it WITH 45% S/L/E def and some def and res.). Taking away other peoples things just because you cant seem to get 56% recharge doesnt really seem fair now does it? edit: 56 after hasten. Oh! And playing on probably -1 or +0 diff will most likely mean you dont have any issues in survivability, or in a team, but alright I guess

I dunno, even on SOs, if you have to hide and wait on a Stalker in this environment, that seems...not right at all. As for the rest of the discussion, I’m on the side of keep it as is. Not because I use SOs(I send myself full builds and $$. Dont need SOs), but because I know others do.

This 100%. Look, I have a WS, and while they deal immensely more damage than a PB AND get capped psi unlike PBs which can be nice for me personally(while in the forms thanks to eclipse carrying over! Neato!), it doesnt mean they even begin to touch blasters damage wise. Never, under any circumstance. Ever. All a blaster has to do is sneeze and they’ve outpaced everyone, but also, about capped res? It works GREAT for WS/PB, but a blaster using capped res...isnt always great.(my Fire/atomic does, but only because all I need is to survive the alpha and everything’s dead.) Most blasters prefer capped S/L/E/N def, which equates to eclipse in survival. While impressive, I would not ever say that my tricked out WS is better than my blasters(unless its a horribly built, and I mean HORRIBLE, blaster. So I guess my arch/tact, who has no enhs and was stripped for the other blasters 😂).

I’d say my spellcasters fall into a Hybrid of 3 & 1. I tied spellcasting ‘races’ to not just learning the spells but having to be born into the race.( i.e. you can try and learn Witch spells, but, if you aren’t born with an affinity for that type of magic, either you won’t be able to cast the spells of a witch, or, at best, they’ll be egregiously watered down versions of the spell.) Also, you’d need to learn the spells, too. Except in the case of Warlocks(not male witches in my head. More WoW-esque), who don’t need to spend as much time learning spells. And of course, creatures are well...creatures.

This. I have a similar situation(pre shutdown I didnt even care about builds. More or less cranking out 50s and fun) now I can make any build, and afford it at just about any price, which is double the fun! Only thing I’m missing is the VG and the oodles of free time I used to have to make all the 50s I want to make.

Ive seen you post quite a bit. Where’s your story? Or, rather, what story of YOURS has been featured in Devs choice? Just sayin’ if you’re gonna be so cut and dry you better have consistent HoF arcs. I haven’t seen one yet of yours, so perhaps try a better approach? Plus, this IS only a game afterall, not like they’re writing for a new Netflix show
