  1. As much as I hate to be a stick in the mud, it’s corruptor. That’s the best support, but if you’re talking strictly between troller and fender it truly depends on the performance of the team and how well they capitalize on said support. A troller at or near 50 will mitigate the damage wholesale via solid CC, which the team could capitalize on for smooth times ahead. On the flipside, a fender can mitigate the damage via overpowered buffs and debuffs that neuter the mob in their own way, allowing the team to continue in relative soft safety while contributing better damage outside of procs. I’d have to give it to the fender given the current meta, if Corr wasn’t an option.
  2. The internet makes it insanely hard to get humor, so please accept my apology!
  3. I got the sentiment the first time, but my post addressed your first point of him not doing research along with the comment about interacting with the forums. I’d appreciate you taking your own advice when it comes to my post. It’s a long one but it addresses everything and then some.
  4. No, they did plenty of research. But it wasn’t based on any concrete data or scientific analysis, it was, as he stated VERY early on in the video if you saw it, that it was based on a bunch of videos and some articles from both major and minor sites. Alls to say, it wasn’t anything concrete. I dunno, if he interacted with these forums, he’d have to interact with ALL forums. You all are biased here for CoH, which, I mean makes sense given its the CoH forums. If you’re biased, what do you think other community forums are like? Look, you didn’t like the video because it put your favorite game low on a list. That doesn’t make his video bad or y’all’s opinion on where it should be ranked any more or less valid. It’s literally almost a satirical meme tier video that for some reason has a few here’s jimmy’s in a ruffle. Hell, I’ve told some of you here who read the video game section of the forums about games that I consider absolute bangers of this year releases and last year’s releases, and have been met with dismissals. Didn’t wig out, just shrugged and went back to playing the games I enjoy. If anything, like Ronin said before, you want it to rank higher? Get it more visibility. Get CoH more favorable articles. That’ll see it ranked way higher. It’s not like he hates the game, it just, based on his criterion, fell to that rank. It is what it is 🤷🏾‍♂️
  5. I’m glad to see HM 4 being done by some different comps. That’s always been an issue of mine, the lack of variety in teams. I always figured different teams would take 3+ hrs to get through it without barrier cycling, glad to know that’s not true. I still have a major hangup with HM in the form of it leaning too much into stat based difficulty, making trash mobs “difficult”(not really) at the expense of mechanical depth. To date, HM LGTF is the most mechanically demanding(relative to only CoH) HM in game. I hope for the next HM, it approaches FF14 levels of mechanical depth. Not exactly reaching it, but showing that’s where they’re headed, so they can slack on what I consider artificial difficulty with over reliance on stats, which are largely ignored in support meta teams(mostly corrs and fenders), or barrier cycling(common meta practice) Smaller teams won’t add anything of note, as others have said.
  6. -Mass email of items -Seemless cross faction play(WoW has this mostly so I include it here) -Sell all option enhancements in stores(SOs. There technically is one in the AH so this is kind of a half issue but having it on stores would be great.) These are just the three I can think of off the top of my head. BG3 I believe has character descriptions. Most other action oriented games do not unfortunately. I haven’t played as many tactical RPGs but I’d imagine they have something. Not too sure though. But to be fair to those who don’t, its’ kind of easy to see what the enemy does after one or so encounters in other games. In game enemy descriptions really only fit MMOs I think.
  7. Raising the level cap doesn’t usually fix an issue of difficulty, if ever solely. It would require actual walls to be implemented into CoH via enemy mechanics that check your level of understanding as a player incrementally along the path to 50( mobs that play like experienced players would, prioritizing targets and becoming heavily resistant to player taunts being a possible example) This would of course also require revamps and large efforts, understandably. I get why it wouldn’t happen. The IO system IS indeed fine…and I’m not advocating its’ removal to clarify. It’s just…think of it like a max level mage in WoW stomping around their starter zone. Now imagine that for the entire game. It can be fun, especially if you want to turn your brain off and just smack some goons. But even with that, I still would find it weird that when I want something that at least equals me in power without being artificially difficult(dangerous mechanics and modest stat boost instead of 100% stat boost and the same mechanics you saw in lower tiers of the same content) there isn’t anything in game for that. TLDR: IOs and incarnates are kind of out of place in a game like this imo. They should not be removed, but maybe there should be more mechanics driven encounters over stat boosted enemies that account for this.
  8. No not at all. CoH having IOs isn’t the problem, CoH having IOs while all content is balanced for SOs is the problem. Thus making IOs and incarnates superfluous. No other games do this. Every other game pretty much in the history OF games has incrementally or actually significantly noticeably better gear and significant difficulty spikes and walls to make use of said gear. CoH is the only game I’ve played that had a serious gear system that didn’t.
  9. There are lots if modern players like that, but they’re usually playing modern games that blow this game’s level of complexity out the water. Once you get past the initial newness of CoH as a player, its’ complexities are kind of contrived. Case n point the IO system, and to some, the incarnates system. At its’ roots they’re both very simple crafting systems. In one’s case the complexity simply stems from poor in game instructions conveying important rules. For the latter, that one is pretty straightforward but the different materials, and the sheer unnecessary presence of shards, makes for a relatively contrived system overall. No, complexity and CoH don’t really belong in the same sentence together outside of possibly your first 50 and the IO system(and Incarnates kinda sorta) and even then see the response above. Modern players are used to a lot of QoL features found elsewhere that are lacking here, which can make for a moderately clunky experience leading to what I said earlier in the thread with short vs long term retention. Edit: CoH’s systems are also superfluous. There’s no point in the IO system since it can be largely ignored for 99.9% of content in the game and only helps you to win harder, which you were going to do anyway. Same deal with the Incarnate System.
  10. CoH is a 20 year old MMO missing a gaggle of QoL that better MMOs have. As far as visibility? You could try, and possibly it would attract a short term audience that leads to a bump and a very small long term audience. But CoH was niche and obscure in its’ hayday. I doubt it’ll ever be a big title. Also, you really don’t want that. It’ll lose so much of what made it great for you all in the process of going ‘mainstream’
  11. I honestly think the AT still exists solely because it was around during live and deleting it would cause a mountain of issues both for the game and the community. This very topic has been debated by some of, if not IMO, the best players in the game on CB. No solution could be reached. And being frank I don’t trust the lead powers devs with being okay with any drastic changes or even coming up with anything resembling a good change themselves so… Kind of just…stuck. Which is a sad existence really but at least it exist?
  12. Stalkers already fill that niche. Thats their entire thing, beating up hard targets.
  13. American Angel has a build thats farming and a non farming equivalent. If they don’t Icesphere does. Just follow them and you’ll walk away with a good build.
  14. This would cut down on a lot of issues and back n forth between people on the forums, as well as reduce the amount of suggestions that would never make it into the game to begin with, I think.
  15. So here’s the thing about this. You don’t want them to just read the content. I think(but am probably wrong) that everyone here can READ the content. But comprehend the message? Now THAT’s where the gold is.
  16. Because a GM follows my account and I don’t want another demerit I too agree with the GMs on everything. Surely nothing wrong can come with this. Surely.
  17. I disagree with mine a bit. It has Palworld at the top and I know I didn’t play nearly the hours it says I did, but at least it has one card I agree with
  18. I think I should clarify something here. I am talking about the people who have more or less been eh…hostile I suppose or disingenuous during the entire discussion. They are why I am disenfranchised with this community. If me talking about how people have been using this thread to just duke it out with one another instead of discussing the idea is worth moderation, well that’d actually be painfully stupid really. If I’m understanding your idea, it’s to have a memorial for all fallen people going forward? That I think I could agree with.
  19. Could you please pin this to the top of the thread so people stop tearing into each other’s throats. This thread reminds me that “CoH is the nicest community ever” is an obvious lie.
  20. It’s pretty fun! Been playing adam warlock, scarlet witch and punisher. Might pick up squirrel girl in a few matches just to see how she plays(basically junkrat is what I’m guessing). I normally avoid these type of games but friends got me into this and boy am I glad they did.
  21. Its post like these that are why I recommend folks only engage with the discord.
  22. You’re absolutely right, it’s a click absorb if I remember correctly, which if you’re thinking an auto mez power is bad, that should theoretically be way worse given the mitigation SR already has. I want to add, I am not advocating it be nerfed or removed. I’m saying in this one instance, I wouldn’t be against that being adapted to any new def sets. SR as is is solid imo on other ATs, so I’m not thinking it exactly needs some of sent’s tools. But I do think those tools in sent SR should appear in other future def sets.( like water armor? 👀)
  23. Thats already been done on sentinel. Not even in the same timeline as the word overpowered, and wouldn’t be on any other AT. Also wouldn’t be done though because it was a PITA to code
  24. It's both, a feel good build isn't doing shit against Omega Kong or Vanguard fight. You'll want a meta build or at least a 4* oriented build to get through it with minimal headache. You'll also want to at least have a good lead and some clear awareness of the fight, even if it literally is kill certain AVs first and move between 4 corners and DPS some adds. Which it is(Aeon and LGTF respectively).
  25. You think the devs can reimburse you? I mean they’re legit seeing it in the account, so why not just refund it? Also I think you’re well n truly cursed. All that PuG complaining brought a curse upon your account 😂
