  1. Hm, I have not, I will. Anyway, I had so much of these themes mapped out (and my notes, thank god!) that POed as I am still, I simply can't not remake them. So far, no losses.
  2. "Look out, it's gonna blow!"
  3. I like the small scale of SBBs - only four players, mid levels only, s'great! I've advocated for updating it by adding more:
  4. The chance of a drop depends entirely on the critter's Rank. Higher-level enemies do not drop salvage more often. Teams also do not directly increase the chance that each enemy might drop invention salvage, although they indirectly increase the total amount of invention salvage found by causing more, and higher-ranked, enemies to spawn. However, this increase is offset by the fact that each enemy can drop only one piece of invention salvage regardless of team size, and each drop goes to a random team member. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Invention_Salvage
  5. [Religious Figureof Yru Choice] wept, farming has come to this now. Don't mind me, just thinking again about the quote in my sig....
  6. Strangely, I never said they couldn't'??? I think you imagined some stuff too.
  7. @ZamuelNow I've thought about that, but it seems odd it's never done this to me ever before until right now, you know? Wondering if maybe such a problem has recently been made worse or something. Now after I save I've leaving the game up for some minutes before turning it off. The install I'm running now was set up not too long ago when we all had to swap to the new installer, but again, weird it hasn't done to this to any other work I've done since then (which isn't insignificant), and I have already gone round checking my various saves and other locations without luck.
  8. Nothing changed with my file structure, I even dug up the missions folder inside the game, there's just nothing. left. I have always left the auto-save on, as well and saving stuff manually when I'm done. I've been doing AE stuff since Live, never seen this happen before. I know the chance for operator error exists, and recall having cleaned up my list using the AE window not too long ago, so I'll even perhaps own up to having disappeared one of these myself. But both, so soon together? Wondering if somehow the "save" bit of info somehow when out when there was a gap in my internet flow and instead it just ate the thing? But then surely my previous version of the two would have remained on my drive right? I still have all my notes for one of them, but the other I don't think so, all I have left of that one is the NPC contact I created, everything else vanished. This system is just such trash.
  9. Even better: now looking at a third arc I'd been working on and it's lost some of what was put into it, like it'd reverted to a previous version, or didn't save work I'd done automatically (I never turn off the auto save) and didn't save it when I clicked "save and exit."
  10. I had two missions that I had put in a heck of a lot of time on that no longer appear in my "local stories" list. Just gone. There's no "autosaved copy" or anything on the list that might be disguising what it was once called, etc. Did I accidentally delete them somehow? Is there some know bug that might hide them or delete them when some weird glitch kicks in? If these are gone even after the "autosave on" function and everything, I am beyond crushed here, I pout in hours and hours on these.
  11. = "some folks choose min/maxing" Tons of other people here are theme players, RPers, etc., not just the "not-many"s 😃
  12. I was just about to say this too!
  13. You know how you're like standing in Atlas Park and one of those low-rez citizens walks by and goes: "Wow, that Clave Dark 5 is amazing, he saved my cousin in Galaxy City!" More of those, double, triple their occurrence. If the current renaissance in AI and social media has taught us nothing else, being told you're awesome motives people.
  14. I often don't bother unless I'm making a new Dom (which happens a lot). I often start my new builds by taking others' posted here on the forums, and then start pulling out stuff I don't want, like the usual Boxing/Tough/Weave cookie-cutter choices. The "meta" of a lot of players here (or at least those who post on the forums ha ha) are all about squeezing out a fraction of an extra percent in any area they possible can. More power to 'em, I've learned some good stuff from them; not my idea of fun though, that's like studying spreadsheets at work or doing homework. And not one you have to follow, define your own fun!
  15. Sure, but following the pattern the police reference was probably the starting point; the secondary layer was, well, secondary. Probably. We should ask some Devs!
  16. Welcome to the city! See my sig for my advice to the game for you, have fun!
  17. Pretty sure I took both of those on a toon once, they can't both be used though, you pick only one or the other, the one one seems to follow the same timer.
  18. Have to admit I often don't bother wit those, or use it for a throw-away joke
  19. Just whatever looks good. Never bothered to get a T4 with any toon, it's a lot of cost and work for a few extra percentage points, really, and because I level instead of insta-farm them, I usually bored of them by T2 or so and moving on.
  20. I haven't finished leveling him (stalled out around 40-something), but my most recent Emp toon was actually very usual, often, to my teams, even those times I played with teams with 50s on them. Like with Rezz powers, forumites like to say it's pointless these days, but they're a small percentage of the population of actual players.
  21. People enjoy camping Bot MMs in areas where people ToT (like the PI murder hotel) to leech XP and drops. People now dual-box to run "AFK farms" where they run to the back of a map, rescue someone which spawns the map full of foes, then set themselves on "follow" as the someone walks back out through the mobs while their AoEs (or, again,Bots; Bots MMs are one of the most popular toons apparently) do all the killing while they actually play on the other acount. Seriously. And then boast about how fast they got it over with. 😄
  22. I'm wondering if the messages for say a boss defeat are only going to the person the system figures out landed the killing blow points or something. But yes, like the Drop Ship defeat on an MSR, it should be shown team-wide, not just to the one player.
  23. So show 'em all how to do it right on your toons! I'm generally with you, I usually just stick to one adjective. That said, I like what @Harlequin565 said, it can generate some good humor. I have one 90's inspired toon named: The Extreme Extreme CAT Beam Because what's more extreme than more etxreeeeme?!
  24. Update: so I was randomly hopping into the AE with a new stalker (who couldn't handle it :P) and (re)discovered a published story with a perfect "dead body" in it. The title is "Murder on 34th Street," it was one of the Christmas contest winners (rightly so), and you find a body in the first mission. The dead guy didn't burble about when you get close, didn't stand up, anything - perfect execution. I have no idea how they did that 😄 I think it was a Boss set as ally, something something, but I dunno. I don't know if the author is still hanging around, but you could track the name down and send them a comment and see what they say. And please report back!
