In terms of Fear, I'd like to see a (Superior) proc similar to the Contagious Confusion. Something that can improve the single-target Fear attacks or step up the (PB)AoE. Also, the existing Fear set bonuses are all very similar. A (Superior) Fear set that included some good positional Defense bonuses would be a nice change of pace. Slow IO set bonuses offer the variety that Fear lacks, but I've never been tempted to slot a set in a slow power...it's Frankenslotting or bust. An alternative to the %Smashing proc to deal damage would be (at least) a chance at some variety.

Presence Power Pool could do with a Taunt Aura Toggle
tidge replied to ShogunGunshow's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I find the most annoying feature of the Presence pool to be that I can't jump immediately to the last two powers without taking two earlier ones. The single-target Fear isn't a bad power, but it is the one that my toons would prefer to skip on the way to the PBAoE or Unrelenting... because while I don't mind taking one of the three first powers, I typically only use 1 of them. -
+1 for both Taunt and Fear. Give them some Purple Love (tm)!

Make it easier to post salvage on the auction house
tidge replied to Cidri's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I routinely move salvage (in stacks of 10 or less) into the AH from character storage. -
The Panic Button is really the only practical reason to have an AoE Hold. I admit that I've taken the AoE holds on Controllers ASAP, but the (leveling up) recharge times don't make it as useful during solo play for me. YMMV,O. "Panic Button" has a couple of meanings for toons, as hitting the AoE and accidentally grabbing more aggro than you want certainly can cause a panic! My Doms hold off on the AoE holds until the global recharge is better.

If you are only slotting one: the Spider's Bite: Global % Toxic is worth slotting for the reasons mentioned. The %Terrorize gets different mileage depending on how many villains you face at a single time. It should always be in some sort of AoE, but if you are facing small groups the effect will be less noticeable. The extra recharge can be a good thing depending on other slotting. One some of my VEAT, I try to slot both sets. Dominion of Arachnos gets 5 slots, and Spider's Bite gets at least 4 slots. Here is my notes: Some VEAT can have trouble closing the gap on (positional) Melee defense, the 4-slot (Superior) Spider's Bite goes a long way there. When going for MAXIMUM +RECHARGE, it is possible of some VEAT builds to get the +10% Global Recharge from five other non-ATO purple slotting, so the NON-SUPERIOR DoA can give +8.75 Global Recharge, which is one of the "rarer" amounts of Global Recharge. Depending on which powers you pick for your VEAT, it can be easy or hard to get different offensive power sets which scale with you as you exemplar/level up. It's nice to have the extra options for those slots. I have a selfish wish for the VEAT ATOs: I wish they could be slotted in the Epic Patron Power pools. The Patron attacks are at a level range where there are several good choices for 5-slot sets, but I almost always find myself wishing that the 6th slot could take one of the ATO procs.

As was mentioned, generally AoE holds can be skipped while levelling because of the long recharge times. End game is a different story. I wouldn't blame anyone who takes one early, but you generally know what you are getting with an AoE hold, so use the choice to try a different power before a Respec.

Is Hero 1 really cured? Did Ms. Liberty ever give him his sword back? It feels like all my toons are recovering Hero 1's blood/letter/whatever or just beating him down.

I have one long-standing gripe against Statesman: IIRC the character was an Invulnerability Tanker. I can tell you that Invulnerability Tankers (at launch) played nothing like Statesman (crap damage, but also being rooted in one spot). This may seem petty but it has ALWAYS bothered me. Spoilers (not spoilers): Darren Wade isn't dead.

Oh, I agree... but it could be possible that he's 'recruiting' villains because he wants to lead them into a trap? The Clockwork King (in all dimensions) has more than a few loose gears.

What would be everyone's thoughts on splitting up the Synapse TF, a la Positron 1 and 2? First Geographically: The simplest would be Part 1 in Steel Canyon/Boomtown and Part 2 in Skyway, but are there better options? See narrative below. Next, what about villains? The Synapse TF is "all Clockwork, all the time"...so would a revamp work some other villains in for part of the TF? I actually like this being somewhat 'self contained' but it might be interesting to figure a way to loop in some other level-appropriate enemies into the arcs. I would veto either Circle of Thorns or Vahzilok because of Positron 1 & 2. Arachnos is always good for some side shenanigans, and it might be fun to stumble across Troll or Lost squatters in either Boomtown or Skyway. Finally, the actual narrative: I've never really grokked how this TF fits into any version of the Clockwork King's story or motivations. It's obviously just a giant monster(TM) story with a LOT of defeat all filler. Would it be possible for Part 1 to be a "Lament for Penny" and Part 2 to be a "Revenge on Blue Steel?", and just give up the "electrical anomaly" angle altogether? Personally, I'd LOVE to have a redside arc where the Rogue Islanders are contacted by the Clockwork King to actually take revenge on Blue Steel. I know that the Clockwork King doesn't really run pure evil, but I think the potential for such a story is there.

I believe what you are observing is the in-zone version of someone running Aaron Thiery's arc in AP. While his arc is being run, the Hellions are replaced by Arachnos and their Pylons appear. BTW, this is a good low-level arc to be re-run in Ouroboros is people are looking for Doorbuster badges, or if you simply want to run against the street Hellions in Perez Park while exemplared. My first Homecoming toon ran this mission quite a bit to accumulate inf and drops; those became the basis of all later wealth for all my toons.

I don't know if this is the 'best', but I will minimally use: Health: Panacea +HP/+End Stamina: Performance Shifter +End If I have a healing power, I will usually multi-slot Preventative Medicine (including Chance for +Absorb) Of the other Recovery or Regeneration procs: I will at most consider Numina: +Regen/+Recovery. The Miracle proc simply doesn't offer enough and I don't think it is any build. I can almost always use that slot elsewhere for a minor Endurance bonus (End cost discount, Recovery, or +End) or I could just multi-slot Stamina for set bonuses, or simply slot another power with Endurance discount. Like others, I am superstitious about the Endurance bar in a way I am not about my Health bar. Both exist to be used, and for almost all builds I would rather have the chance for additive Health/Endurance rather than a minor amount of extra Regeneration/Recovery.

There go the debt badges....

I appreciate the incarnate system as is, because it gives just about every toon the tools necessary to run XTREME CONTENT. I rather enjoy running 50 (and 50+) content at x8 for merits, drops, catharsis, etc. Judgement and Lore really help out the DPS issues with several builds. Lately I've been playing with different Incarnate choices just for kicks. One of the new (to me) choices has been alpha: vigor and destiny: rebirth... Along with pets (lore or otherwise) the healing badges have been rolling in. I encourage folks to step out of their comfort zone in the incarnate space.

There are circumstances when attuning PVPs is reasonable. For example, an attuned PVP can be slotted as low as lvl 10 (they will work to lvl 7, but for some reason I feel like some IOs can't be slotted until lvl 10) and will scale with the character. A lower (than 50+) level PVP will max out at it's level. Almost one year into Homecoming and I've recycled quite a few attuned PVP sets while levelling up. There aren't many PVP sets that stay in my lvl 50 builds, which contributes to the recycling. The purple (Superior) sets can't be slotted until lvl 50. I've never tried to attune one and unslot it to see if a lower level toon could use one, but I suspect it wouldn't be slottable. In any case, unless a toon is PLed to 50 and has a big bankroll there shouldn't even be a temptation to attune Purple IOs.

NPC Vendors Buy Merits for 200k inf each
tidge replied to aethereal's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'm reminded of the threads in which some players express disgust about using the AH at all. Some folks are just going to do what they want. -

tidge replied to aethereal's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
You literally wrote three sentences, all of which were quoted. Your second sentence is a restatement of the fix. The third sentence implies that players (by ignorance or choice) are falling into traps (again, possibly by choice) that you don't want them to fall into. I'm not assuming that you are the type of player who thinks other players are making mistakes with their power choices, attack chains, or slotting choices and want them to do better... however those could also be seen as "traps" for the uninitiated which require explicit guardrails to avoid. The OP solution should have been to give the SGmate several million Inf, because that is what would have eased the mind of the offended party. -
Wishlist: Story Arcs for all Hazard Zones
tidge replied to Yomo Kimyata's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
There is a bit of an Eden story arc, but it is redside and it is entirely instanced. It is given by the Mad Doctor (Verner von?) In the Grandville citadel. I do like this idea, primarily because I crave an in-game explanation for the different groups fighting each other in zones like Boomtown and Eden. -
Purples (the lvl 50 Superiors) do not need to be attuned.

I feel like you are offended that there are different ways to play the game and spend the in-game rewards. Kudos to those folks who help explain things to others. We aren't stingy with advice. This seems like a solution in search of a problem. Not everyone does things in a way that others think is efficient. -

tidge replied to aethereal's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I don't grok the problem as described nor does the proposed solution appear to address the problem. As near as I can tell the problem is that a player used merits to convert to recipes, but an SGmate felt she should have just used Inf instead? And that making Inf via the AH (where the recipes and IOs are for sale) was too complicated so the proposal is to send the SGmate to a vendor to get Inf to use in the AH instead? Why didn't you just give the SGmate 24M Inf and direct her to the forums? I've given away at least as much to PUGmates who don't have Team Transport. I suppose I'm bad because I don't check up on them if they spent the Inf wisely or not! -
Debating the best patron set for a crab spider
tidge replied to Azrik's topic in Arachnos Soldier & Widow
I love Mu on my Fortunata, she uses all three DPS attacks to cut through large groups of enemies. On my Crab, I'm sticking with Mace for now. I'm using a total of 16 slots on the Immob, Shatter Armor, and the pet. The pet was the main driver, but I also need a strong single-target attack and Shatter Armor meets that need. The other motivator for my build is that those three powers allow me to slot for extra Global Recharge. I very rarely need the Immob, but the SG base has all the Purple pieces just taking up space... -
What is with the oponents scattering all the time???
tidge replied to PeterDutcher's topic in General Discussion
I have turned this behavior into a game: see how far on a map an enemy will run. The Knives of Vengeance in the Heather Townshend arc in particular are good examples of enemies who will go to extreme distances to escape my toons. Specific to that arc: in the second mission the villains spawn just beyond a narrow doorway which is their preferred escape route. I now try to block the doorway and it is hilarious to see them trying to squeeze past.
