  1. And yeah... I almost always take CJ. Hasten? Not so much. Of my current characters (I have 27 now. Holy hell. o_0), about ten have Hasten. The rest just didn't need it.
  2. The only recent mention of a Hasten nerf I've seen is that other thread in Suggestions, which I suspect from the OP's replies was probably started with the intent of stirring up arguments more than making any kind of real suggestion.... So, maybe it's best not to worry over it.
  3. You're just here to stir up the anthill, aren't you? If so... well done. You've gotten a lot of replies to your thread.
  4. Personally, I have no issue with Hasten. I use it on a few of my characters, but far from All... or even Most. I just don't think it's as broken as all that. So... sorry. But I'm not going anywhere with you. /jranger
  5. Here we go again... Yet another of our apparently regularly-scheduled nerf-herder threads. Hasten seems to be a popular target. Bio and Titan, likewise. Maybe someone should make a sticky forum post with a directory linking to the older threads where this crap has been hashed over again and again and again just to save everyone time.
  6. It's definitely a Mu-specific thing, not an Arachnos thing. Only the higher ranked ones are allowed to show their faces or use individual names.
  7. Yeah... Parts of Unai's stuff are a total slog. But I kind-of love that "Put the Scientists back Together" set of missions. Boats on banana paper, forever! XD Otherwise blue-side, I'm fond of the Library of Souls and Envoy of Shadows arcs. I love the majority of the content in Striga and Croatoa. I like all three of the newer Talos arcs. Freak Olympics is good fun, I'll never get tried of Saving the World for Dark Watcher, and some of the hero tip missions definitely have their moments. Titan Called Joe always makes me sad, no matter who I run it on. I also imagine that my rogue Oranbegan characters get a kick out of visiting their pacifist counterparts no matter who sends them to that world or why... even if that means "*sigh* Here we are. Having to save our hapless cousins YET AGAIN from Malta/the Pantheon/the Rikti/Etc". What don't I like in Hero-land? Hunts. I pretty much hate street-hunts in the middle of arcs. I'm also not fond of "fed-ex" runs that send me to the far end of nowhere and back purely to waste time. Those, alas, aren't confined to any one arc. They're everywhere. Even in the middle of arcs that I otherwise have a great time running. I'm not a fan of Twin Shot and her missions, but it's more on the 'avoid 'em' level than the 'hate knows no limit' thing. On the red side, it's easier to point out the few arcs I just can't stand. By and large, I like almost everything else... But Dr. Graves is just AWFUL and Lt. Harris basically makes my skin crawl. Phipps? He's slimy, sure, but I don't end up hating his arc on principle, even though I rarely run it with any of my own crew. (I tend to play rogues rather than real villains, so the kinds of things he gets up to are pretty out-of-character for many of them-) Particular favorites red-side? Punking the Luddites is excellent fun.... Dealing with Johnny Sonata's soul makes me grin... Nalor and his portals are entertaining... Scir's patron arcs, likewise (Plus that includes a trip to my favorite map in the entire game. Big, Ornabegan floating islands map; the Crossroads). The Rogue tips are fun, I absolutely adore Vernon, Dean's arc is fabulous silliness (So. Many. Clones. 0_o)… Cage's security guy trying to keep Crash out of trouble, Psimon and his headaches, the Mage Hunter having trouble with her ex (Who happens to be a Death Mage. XD) And then there's "Oh Wreched Man". I ❤️ Paolo, too... All fun stuff. And much better written than most of the small arcs blue-side. In the "Not red or blue" category, I'm a big fan of Dark Astoria's arcs, the gold-side Responsibility storyline and pretty much everything in First Ward and Night Ward. The Praetorian Crusader storyline was the only one I found myself unable to finish. I ended up taking Morgan on the Warden path in the end. Those arcs aren't badly-written, mind. They're more like Phipps' arc. 'Just a bit more "let's be awful" than I was willing to be with one of the gang.
  8. Tavaris sighs and says "We're going to need more boxes..." Life gets crazy when you're in the mail-order wailer business. XD
  9. This. SO much this... As annoying as Twinshot and her pals are, the red-side arc is just worse.
  10. There's a line somewhere... darned if I can remember exactly where, alas... that basically puts it in terms of restricting the body in order to focus the mind. I wish I could point you to that source, but I don't recall rather it was an in-game bit of dialogue or from one of the lore docs.
  11. I never managed to get a Warshade to 50... Odds are good I never will. I'm fine with Peacebringers. I had three of those back in the day... a human-only, a human/nova and a human/dwarf... and I was fond of all of them. But I never could get the hang of my 'shades. I tried... but... NOPE. It just never worked out.
  12. My Oranbegan mains are all over on Everlasting, but I do have a small flight of "bird things" perched on Excelsior. Iah… Fire/Bio Sent Anut… Claws/Bio Stalker Aken… DP/Energy Sent Sefkhet… DB/WP Scrap Skyrunner… Peacebringer ... and Snickerdoodles, who is *not* a bird. (She's a Claws/WP Stalker cat-girl. XD)
  13. If we're collecting Thread Necromancy pics... I have to post a friend from RPGNet's version. Knowing that it was still around and in use so long after he made it would have made him grin. ^_^
  14. I have to admit... I horde my purple drops. 😅 I've never put those up on the market, because I know I'll eventually use them on some alt or other. A few favorite procs and specials also get kept and stuck in my base bins, just because I like to give them to less build-focused friends as gifts. Pretty much everything else does get tossed to Wents, though, either as a raw recipe or as a crafted enhancement, depending on what salvage I happen to have sitting around. I suspect I'll keep doing that regardless of the INF changes, since I prefer attuned sets when I'm actually doing a build for one of the gang. Over all, the loss of INF is noticeable, but it's not the End of All Things. It just means it'll take longer to build up the resources I need to complete whatever project I'm working on.
  15. IIRC that's in refence to the actual exploit… the interaction of still getting Patrol XP after 50, which didn't exist prior to shut-down, and the Extra-INF mechanic. The Extra-INF mechanic absolutely DID exist in the live days, and did apply to level 50 characters running level 49 missions. I know that for a fact. I routinely used it on all of my characters after they hit 50. There was no reason not to, and I did a lot with them exemped.
  16. Mei, in "summer floof" mode... She has about twice that much hair in winter. XD And my much-missed "desk fish", who died a few weeks ago. 😞 My Coconut Ghost. Who almost made it to three years old, which is ancient for a betta fish. He was also a total pyro. He LOVED candle flames.
  17. I only play the original, red-side version of Kai once in a blue moon anymore... So I'm actually tempted to see just HOW LONG she can keep the munchkin around. It's a silly challenge... But what if I still had the thing in tow NEXT April Fools? XD
  18. I'd love to be able to ask Castle or one of the old devs, honestly. That's the only way we'd ever know for 100% certain... But given how long it was around and how it was never so much as tweaked (or even mentioned, as far as I can recall-) I have doubts they saw it as an issue.
  19. This. This right here is why I will always and forever wave the /jranger flag when these things are suggested. They're a menace in the hands of certain types of gamers, and if you think Warcraft's "issues" wouldn't crop up here, too? You're kidding yourself.
  20. 'Logged back on to Kai briefly this afternoon... and she was still stuck with the Ugly Baby. I'm guessing if you have the little spud he sticks around until you zone or something. XD
  21. I was responding to the idea up-thread that one way it could be implemented was as a team lead choice in-general, rather than as an option specific to Ouro or particular task force content.... But hey, if the idea that I'm not 100% sold on that irks you, you can always just ignore-list me and you won't have to see the post.
  22. It isn't an exploit if it's working as intended... which the simple extra-INF-instead-of-XP setting, even when used in a level 49 mission. was. It was the added effect of that setting combined with never-consumed Patrol XP that was exploitative, not simply the trade-off setting. Jimmy & Company may not *LIKE* the way that setting worked at level 49, but it wasn't broken. It was working the same way it has since the original devs added it way, way back when as an incentive to get people to exemp.
  23. That depends on how it's done... If it's a personal choice, sure. If it's a team-lead choice like the regular challenge settings, I wouldn't be able to.
  24. Nah. Just buy them all up for 6 bobkins, paint the handles blue instead of red and then sell them back to everyone for 16 bobkins plus tax.
  25. This could be good fun as a TF/SF or Ouro challenge mode. +1 for that idea. How well I would like it myself in regular play, though? I dunno. I typically only exemp with my support characters (Most often with Ivory, my Time/Dark Defender-) and when I'm doing that, I'm often there as sort of a "security blanket"... a back-up or an insurance policy, in other words. Someone who can, potentially, help pull the proverbial fat of the lower level characters she's running with out of the metaphorical fire if things go pear-shaped. Those five grace levels and the extra power or two, and the set bonuses that come with them, are a big portion of what allows her to serve in that role. So... yeah. On the one hand, options are good. On the other, it would put a hole through the middle of a particular role/playstyle I enjoy quite a lot.
