Sure if you go about that way, and I have farmers that do the converter roulette. It's not that I can't afford the 20 million, it's just the principle paying that much for anything when there are other ways to acquire something.
-
I don't know where you are getting 80-100 million for 100 merits. If you sell 300 converters for 95,000 each, then you would get 28.5 million, minus 10% AH fee that's 25.6 million. Given the market tends to have them down to about 75,000 you will net about 20.2 million after AH fees so it's generally a wash. Since I'm rich in merits due to hami raiding, merits can be a better option for me when things get into the 20 million range.

With converters selling for as low as 75,000 and AH fees, it about a wash.

Well trying to play every AT and every possible power combo was a pretty daunting task to begin with. Then feeling obligated to report to everyone about your progress seemed more like a job than a challenge. Good for you doing you.

I don't get why this is so much better than CO
Dazl replied to Warpstarr's topic in General Discussion
I use a Razer Nostromo for my movement and general keyboard commands, and gaming mouse in the other hand. I only use the keyboard to chat. -
I wouldn't spend 20m on anything. When I get into that territory I'm using merits.

I don't get why this is so much better than CO
Dazl replied to Warpstarr's topic in General Discussion
If CO is "so much better than COH", why wasn't it a bigger financial success? When COH closed down, why didn't everyone flock to CO instead? Because it's not a better game. Sure it improved on somethings, but it just doesn't have that COH magic. Heck we didn't even need a COH2, if they would have updated and fixed the coding, improved the graphics, and added other cool features like new AT's and other QoL items, the live version of this game would still have been going strong. -
The true beauty of the test server isn't to create an instant 50 to play there as your main, it's to test build a toon to see how it will play in the end. We have all probably created toons that we abandoned at some point because they didn't click. The test server will help you determine if that is a build you want to pursue.

Gravity / Storm is great for a controller. Wormhole them into singularity, with freezing rain, tornado, and lighting storm melts mobs like butter. For a defender I would recommend Storm / Dark. Dark gives you a self heal, which storm lacks and immobilize to help keep them locked down.

I love this game but nobody teams anymore..
Dazl replied to qas_illustration's topic in General Discussion
There are a lot of teams out there just waiting for someone to lead them. -
That's a shame, guess the community is not what it used to be. Sadly with most bullies if you show any signs of weakens they will ponce. General chat can be a sewer just like twitter. I ignore all chat channels except the SG or LFG channels.

Why does everyone seem to run +4/8 or nothing?
Dazl replied to JnEricsonx's topic in General Discussion
Maybe not to show off per say. If they can solo 54/8 then it would make sense for them to run a team at that setting to maximize the rewards. If they announce they are forming +4/8 team and you don't think you can keep up, don't join. -
Characters where you took the WHOLE Primary and Secondary
Dazl replied to Heraclea's topic in General Discussion
I do that a lot with characters when leveling up with sets I haven't played. This lets me try all the powers so that by level 50 when I respec them I have a good feel if certain things can be dropped. I believe my Dark/Dark stalker still has all the powers in both sets. -
Can't we just have our little corner of escapism in this crazy world. Why even inject any real world issues here? There are tons of other places to discuss serious issues, people come here to get away from all that stuff.

You seem to be the only person who doesn't know what it means. No amount of opining or detailed English theory is going to change the fact that the horse left the barn a long time ago. DPS means damage dealers to most people. Maybe a new hobby might be less stressful.
-
You know if you want to make this a little bit easier, you should create a farmer on a second account. You could then power level these alts to say level 35, and then level up normal from there. You would get past the tedium of the early levels and have a most of your powers making it easier to level them out. Plus you would be generating the funds to equip them.

Wow, that's one hell of a challenge. God speed to you Basherbot, and good luck slogging through the AT and power set combos you don't like.
-
Doesn't seem Basherbot is very interested in it anymore. He put up a poll asking if he should still do it for the community more than himself.
-
Sounds more like work than fun.

Again DPS is just a long time gaming term for damage dealers. I didn't create the term, but as a gamer I understand what is meant by most people when they use it. Now if your tank can be both a good tank and damage dealer, then the team is getting a win win. Though I suspect that if your a tank, they may be predisposed to you filling the aggro management roll since damage dealers are a dime a dozen.
-
Holy necro thread Batman.
-
It's quite simple. If someone is looking for DPS they want damage, tank would be for aggro management (not limited to tank AT), and support for heals, buffs, de-buff and control. Now if you want to build your tank for DPS and it can't taunt or manage aggro then what do you think it would be out of the choices above?
-
DPS (damage), tank, and healer (support) are terms that go back to the beginning of MMOs and most gamer's understand what is meant when asking for them. It doesn't mean as much in this game, but sometimes it helps to fill certain needs of a team.
-
The Homecoming team should simplify it and drop the shards and make it threads and emps only. Shards just add unnecessary complication. When I run the Ramiel's arc and get to the part that Lady Grey sends you to get the incarnate container, I port back to Ramiel and auto complete that mission, then go back to Lady Gray to get to the next step. That cuts out a lot of time.

Your farmer can do both farm and marketeer. Which is better than just marketing. Farming will earn you recipes and the mats to make them, then use a few converters and sell them for almost no cost to make.
