  1. I would love to see an assault/summon AT or something like that. I think it would be really cool to have all kinds of wild combinations. Assault sets I think have a lot of potential here - Assault/Defense or Assault/Support would both be interesting to play, I bet.
  2. I'm only really concerned with builds at level 50 because I only play level 50 characters. I don't even really feel like I'm that invested in a character unless I've put some effort into tricking it out at 50. Honestly, how a build plays in lower levels is almost completely irrelevant to me unless I'm exemplaring down for a TF or something, and I really don't do that very often. Inf, IOs, and incarnate abilities are also really easy to get a hold of, so I don't really think many of the builds you're seeing posted are super unobtainable dream builds or anything. Building a high-end character is actually a pretty reasonable thing to do for most people now, in my opinion.
  3. Started to read this thread but there's a lot of hostility that I don't really feel like engaging in. I'll just throw out a couple ideas: What if the -def was changed into something that was still noticeable but not nearly as dangerous? Like instead of getting hit with -def you got hit with a big -recharge debuff for a short duration. I'm sure other stats might work, like maybe -tohit or something. It would still convey the idea of being crashing after using Rage without being such a massive problem. I agree with the sentiment that a character with the power of Super Strength should not have a power that penalizes damage, even temporarily. It makes no sense, conceptually.
  4. Could it be worked into the power customization for travel powers, like minimal fx or other animation changes? I think this is a really good idea.
  5. Yeah, I've been using VirtueVerse myself as it pretty much does everything I would need from an Everlasting-only version. It seems relatively active already.
  6. One of the best roleplayers I have ever met plays Jack Wolfe, the respec NPC. It is top-tier stuff.
  7. Really stoked about a lot of these changes, particularly about Patrol XP now working in AE, the Controller immob changes, and the costume piece fixes. Thanks for putting in work on the game and making efforts to improve the gameplay experience for all of us.
  8. People are definitely overly dramatic about it. I wouldn't say Beast Summoning is bad at all, but the pets primarily fight in melee range so it they may feel squishy depending on your secondary just because of the higher risk that comes from being in melee. Beasts in general have great damage outside of Fortify Pack, and they have some good built-in resistance that works well with support sets that can layer on top of that. Beasts/Sonic is a fun, tanky example that I was playing as my main at the end of Live - it really comes into its own with Incarnates once you can get Rebirth.
  9. I wonder if you could do it on a Plant/Kin with Ageless Destiny and Spectral Alpha? I had a Plant/Kin pre-incarnates and I feel like it at least got relatively close with just pure-IO's, although I'm going off of nothing but my own faulty memory there.

    Don't be Ebil.

I mean I don't see the market ever becoming as inflated as it was on live. They seeded the salvage market, PvP IOs now drop in regular content so they're more common, and every IO is accessible through merit rewards (which are also easier to get than on live). I think there is definitely a ceiling to how high prices can get now, which is a good thing for everyone.
  11. The support that comes inherently with control sets is also extremely useful. You may find a Controller, which has control primary and support secondary, fits the bill.
  12. Are we playing the same game? It is easier to IO/Incarnate a character now than it has ever been before. It certainly does not take months/years to purple out a character for anyone trying to do that.
  13. It depends, really. Attunded IOs, as mentioned, can be slotted at any level. For most IOs, I wait until I can slot level 50 versions, and while I usually stick with SOs pre-50 I am never opposed to investing in a few key IOs that help immensely on the way up. I'm talking about things like KB protection, stealth, etc. And sometimes in lieu of SOs I will frankenslot with whatever random drops I get as I go.
  14. They should put an exploration badge in the middle of the Carnado, Kallisti Wharf's most enjoyable feature.
  15. Some like the super reliability. Especially if they don't know how much level 50 common IO recipes sell for to vendors. >.> I know if I run for tickets I can get 3 pieces of rare salvage ever 2 runs (and an extra piece every 7th run). Being only level 32, this translates to roughly 10mil an hour reliably for me, which is not bad for my level. If I run regular drops it's a bit of a gamble. A gamble that I have won so far (2 purples that earned me 65mil between the two, not to mention a few other nice drops), but a gamble none the less. So if you're under 50 but the AE mission is level 50 you can get purples? Yep.
  16. I've got a million costumes I'm super proud of but it'd take forever to post them all. For now, here's the Dark/Emp Controller who ended up becoming my new main: Just need to get that 'Life and Death' badge and I'm set, haha.
  17. You can't invite other people, but you can invite any alt on your own account as long as you have the proper permissions in the SG.
  18. There will never be a singular continuity that satisfies everyone's characters. Don't think too much about it and just explain the time gap in whatever way makes the most sense to you, and be prepared to accept other people's explanations at face value.
  19. PLing ruins the economy? That's a new one. How much of an economy would there even be without farmers generating the inf and the inventory to keep it afloat?
  20. I love the changes to XP that are outlined here. This should effectively satisfy all parties in the debate of how XP should be handled - everyone has access to accelerated leveling, but they can opt out if they desire that instead. It's a great solution. I do wish the -50% AE experience nerf didn't have to stay in place. Hopefully down the road that is an option.
  21. I've been using it. You can host your images on imgur and just paste the direct link into VV without even having to format it and it does the trick.
  22. Bots > Mercs on their own because of the Bots' regen debuffing capabilities, but honestly Time Manipulation is such a good set that you would be fine playing any of the MM primaries with it. I know it may seem like a cop-out answer, but with Time I'd genuinely just go with whichever primary feels more interesting to you.
  23. I agree - there was already a system in place to deal with offensive or copyrighted characters that could have easily been used to police people's custom pets. It isn't an argument that holds up at all. That said, it's pretty unlikely that we'll ever see it happen for obvious reasons. Sadly, it doesn't matter how many times I fantasize about making my own version of Multiple Man with pets that are simply clones of himself.
  24. Nah. I think wanting to revert to an I24 build because it feels "more legitimate" than I25 is completely misinformed and would be a huge disservice to a lot of the really great changes that I25 brought. Almost all of the changes are focused on making more of the game accessible to more people than we saw on live: veteran levels help solo players participate in incarnate content without requiring huge trials that may otherwise gate out casual players (which was a HUGE criticism of the trials back on live, if you recall), base editing changes make bases more customizable than ever before, IOs can be very easily acquired through merits and enhancement converters, and more powerset proliferation across all the ATs means more new possibilities for everyone... and that's just a few of the bigger ones off the top of my head. "There won't be people running trials because they can all unlock incarnates solo" is entirely the wrong way to look at things. Realistically, soloable incarnates just means more people will be able to incarnate more of their characters even easier, which means there will be more level 50 incarnates available to run trials overall (and any other 50 content). As more people hit 50, more people will be playing their level 50 characters through this content and I'm willing to bet it will be a complete non-issue - just look at all the people trying to get their old characters back to where they were on live! And regardless, why would we unlock incarnate powers if not to be badass powerful incarnates on the trials (those level shifts!) & in regular gameplay? I know it may be hard to accept changes that occurred after the game was shut down, but the old devs were definitely not perfect. There was a lot they did that was improved upon with I25. Removing these QOL updates would be an extreme detriment to the experience of this game, if you ask me. [EDIT] Having a separate server with I24 is much better solution to this made-up problem than changing one of the already-existing I25 servers to I24. What would happen to people's characters that they've already been working on? How could you decide which server to reset everyone's progress on just to make that happen? That would be a huge mess for no reason at all.
