  1. If that is the only metric you want to use, then I would agree. Their role and design was to be AoE centric. However in doing so, they are not the best at single target damage. Exactly. This is not, nor has it ever been, a universal truth for everyone though.
  2. I was not suggesting it should be. I was simply pointing out that certain builds and power combos are more efficient. Remove the word "farm" and they will still clear maps much more efficiently than others. At least to me, that does not make them overpowered per se, just more efficient. Personally, I do think different roles/ATs should experience the game differently. That is a big part of the uniqueness they have and provides flavor for differing tastes in style of play. Measuring the ability to solo between powersets within an archetype was not what you posted. You were comparing a scrapper to a defender.
  3. Are people gravitating toward builds because they are overpowered or simply because they are more efficient? As an example, I can farm on any number of my tankers or brutes or scrappers with no issues. However, some are simply more time efficient due to them being more AoE centric. I am not sure trying to compare the ability to solo between a defender and scrapper is a good measure either. They play different roles.
  4. I had the very same issue about a month ago. The issue corrected itself eventually. For some odd reason, even though the beacons showed as attached, the portal did not register them when trying to use it.
  5. If it were up to me, I would go for something more Zorro/Three Muskateers swashbuckling style swordplay, but like @Haijinx said, I do not think we need another sword set.
  6. Fair point however it is also a fair point to say there are quite a lot of toxic idiots in the PvE world too. There are bad apples in every basket.

  8. I think this is a very, very naive point of view. There are quite a lot of people I know now and have known over the years who would like to have tried out PvP in CoH but unfortunately were put off by the toxicity of a few very bad actors. Of course that plays a part in why some people will not try it. I would agree it is not the sole reason, but definitely a big reason regardless.

  14. I do not believe @jubakumbiis meaning every single person in the community, only a select few who unfortunately leave a bad impression of the whole. Those same people tend to be very vocal and in my opinion, busy bodies is a very apt term to describe them.
  15. I am not the one hurling insults, so that says a whole lot more about you than it does me. If you want to keep insulting me for having a different opinion, more power to you.
  16. I have no need to play innocent as I did not take anything you wrote out of context. I simply offered a different perspective. I understand some people have difficulty dealing with others who do not share their opinion. Of course Recall Friend has a use. Then again, so does skipping it to take another power which can help the player by adding to their defense or giving them more offense. That has tactical value as well. As I said, there is no right or wrong either way.

  18. There is nothing disingenuous about sharing an opinion. I can appreciate and respect you have a differing point of view. For reasons also stated previously in the thread, ATT and TT are viable alternatives to get people to missions faster, thereby keeping things lively. This boils down to player choice. Taking Recall Friend is either useful to you or it is not. Neither answer is right or wrong.

  21. This also could be due to the grass plates overlapping each other. As for the stairs, as far as I know there is no way to build a staircase from within the base to go up and out side of it. You will have to do this with teleport beacons.
  22. This is an excellent reason why in general ALL powers should come with minimal FX options in my opinion. I would also love to see an option to disable the VFX of buffs being applied to my characters or any/all VFX. The amount of visual spam on incarnate trials and Hami raids is overwhelming.
  23. Those who believe removing AE farms would stop power leveling are being naive and forget that power leveling existed long before there was an AE.
  24. I would argue that being useful to a select group is on point to a degree. I also remember the Taxibots. They were a great help back in the day, but that was before Oro portals, base teleports and such. I definitely see little to no need for such a service now, but I am a veteran and know of more efficient/faster ways to get somewhere whereas a newer person may not.
