  1. This is an issue that dates back to the release of issue 16 with powerset customization. While an absolutely wonderful feature, powerset customization does come with drawbacks with regard to the amount of visual FX clutter from the numerous buffs being applied and powersets being used all at once in a team environment. This is exacerbated during incarnate trials or Hamidon raids where there is so many colors and visual effects it is very difficult if not impossible to see your avatar. What I propose is an option - perhaps via Null the Gull - where a player can select a "minimal fx" option that either reduces or eliminates the visuals from buffs applied to us from other players. This would only work from the individual players perspective, so those who like all the VFX can keep it and those who do not can disable them. There are a lot of powersets that already have minimal FX settings, so I am wondering if it is possible to set somehow set this globally from our point of view only? Again, it would not cause other players to see any costume options or powerset customization change, this would just be from the perspective of those who select this option. Thanks!
  2. Check this out.... happened upon this while in the tower of the Mini FP base. There is a weird effect with the Pillar of Ice and Flame. If I am viewing it from one angle, it looks fine, like this. However, when I rotate my camera to look directly at it while facing the object on the wall, the crystal disappears behind it, even though the pillar is in front of it So bizarre! I have never seen this before. Feel free to check it out on Torchbearer in the Mini FP base. Very weird!
  3. I shed a tear every time I think about my Fire/EM tank back in the day before all the nerfs. 😥
  4. Is /jranger still a thing? If so, /jranger to this idea.
  5. On Torchbearer these are run fairly regularly in the evenings and on weekends. Best place to hang out is Oro as @Noyjitat mentioned. Some still run from Pocket D, but Oro is where I see most forming lately.
  6. Ok so it is more than apparent you are just trolling at this point. Good day to you.
  7. I would not be against Clear Mind being more AoE. However, it recharges so quickly it is not all that difficult to keep it applied to everyone on a team.
  8. I do not know what server you are on, but from my experience there are groups of people holding costume contests, base building contests, all kinds of things to give away influence to others. Inf is not finite in the game.
  9. Ok, let me clarify since it is abundantly clear the point was missed - in a buffing set there is a power named "Heal" - as in add hit points to an allied target - that uses a spinning kick to the face animation. It does not fit. At this point, if all you would like to do is argue semantics, I think it best to agree to disagree. Not all electrical attacks from NPCs have a huge cage of electricity.
  10. Again, you are putting words in my mouth and trying to interject something into my post that is not there. I never said the animation caused me distress of any kind. I just do not feel it fits for an allied buff - that is all. Think of it as having a power called "heal" that uses a spinning kick cartwheel animation to strike the ally in the face and knock them unconscious - the animation does not really fit. The animation used here makes sense thematically against an enemy target because you are trying to subdue them. To me, it does not fit as a buff for an ally. Feel free to disagree.
  11. Now you are trying to put words in my mouth. I am not nor was I ever equating the animation to Nazis or seeing animals die as cruel or anything of the sort, nor was I suggesting it is of greater or lesser importance. I simply do not feel the selected animation fits for what is supposed to be an allied buff. To me, there are far better choices out there to choose from other than the animation looking like you were hit by a stun gun from an ally. Unless you were on Jackass or something, I would not expect to be electrocuted by a friend/ally. I have no idea how difficult it is to change the animation in terms of code. All I am suggesting is to perhaps choose a better one that fits the idea of a buff better.
  12. How many of your allies are walking around jolting you with a stun gun to electrocute you? Never once did I say that there should be no animation at all. I agreed that the animation chosen is a poor one for a buff set. To me, it breaks the immersion to have an ally cast a buff on me that makes me look like my character is in pain. There are any number of animations that would have been more suitable in my opinion. These are my own personal preferences, which is why I suggested providing players an option to disable them. Those who like it can keep it and those who do not can choose to not see it.
  13. I also feel the animation is poorly chosen. I understand the choices are limited, however selecting one that looks like we are being electrocuted by an ally is a very poor choice.
  14. Based on what? I have yet to be on a team where the group moves from mob to mob firing off Judgement. People use it when it is available, just like any other power.
  15. This new set brings up an old suggestion from back in the day. I personally would also love an option to either tone down or completely disable the VFX from this and other powersets. A lot of powers, especially with the coloring are adding so much visual spam that it is becoming difficult to even see my character, which defeats the purpose of designing a costume for them. Would be perfect if this worked so that I as the player can suppress seeing them from my perspective without affecting what others see.
  16. You do realize that what you are suggesting is a change to the code, right? You cannot change something without changing code.
  17. The problem here in the present state of things is that there is not enough Incarnate content for progression to take a long time. Given the limited number of iTrials, running them as the only source of incarnate xp and items would get very old very fast.
  18. Have to say my good old fashioned Broadsword/Shield is a lot of fun. Not a DPS monster, but I did not build her to be one. I built her to be a classic tank and she excels at it.
  19. ^ This. If anyone is spamming LFG with nonsense, put them on ignore. You can remove them from your ignore list at a later date.
  20. How many people do you need to convince? Seems to me there are several people here on the forums who agree Incarnates are making things too easy for them. Why not PM each other, set up a new SG and team up? Advertise here on the forums and on various chat channels in game for other like minded players to join you. Before you know it, you will have a whole group of people to play with.
  21. You can get that with several different sets using just SOs.
  22. STO has The Arena of Sompek. Very fun queued event. Essentially, it gets harder each wave as enemies will get stronger with more and more buffs. It also includes scaling rewards, so the more waves you defeat, the greater the reward. There are DPS leagues set up for this and bragging rights posts on Reddit and such. Would be fun to have something like this here. Definitely a challenge.
  23. ^ This right here.
  24. Speaking of re-using Galaxy City with Shivans, could the Shivan GM from DiB be ported over there to turn it into an invading army of incarnate level threats? Hmmm..... Might be fun to fight a bunch of those all at once.
  25. You know what might be interesting is to re-purpose the old Galaxy City map. It is for all intents and purposes unused. Some incarnate level Shivans would sort of work story wise.
