  1. As I understood it, asymmetrical gloves and boots were already in the leaked files, but incomplete. That's at least the claim made by someone who took credit for having them released on a different server before Homecoming announced them here.
  2. Oh, and, since I wasn't particularly clear in my last post: I fully support the distribution of all costume pieces to all player-character models, regardless of sex/gender as soon as possible! I'm a full-floodgates-open kinda player when it comes to costume pieces (and animations).
  3. The trouble is, to my understanding, that costume pieces aren't as immediately and simply proliferable* the way that Powers / Power Sets are. Specific proprietary files are needed to get things like 3D assets to be modified and working in the game to a level which the Homecoming Team consider acceptable. Of course, this is an educated guess on my part, based on information provided to me by people who have made convincing bids at explaining the situation to me. If I am incorrect, I welcome someone more knowledgeable to demonstrate what misinformation I may be propagating on this subject. * (It's a word! . . . now that there are people who have read it and understand what I mean by it. That's how new words get added to a language, after all.)
  4. And City of Heroes wouldn't have made the same impact it did if it were as punishing as Jack Emmert purportedly wanted it to be. Accessibility has been a godsend for this game!
  5. I'd say there was also a bit of a power vacuum when certain Big Names didn't return to the community, leading to a different system of social/gamer strata becoming established within the community, and thereby causing new leaders to affect different subcultural norms for their followers.
  6. They did, at one point, @kiramon. However, for whatever reason, that rule was rescinded. I'm pretty sure there was also a rule about attempting to bypass the auto-AFK function in the Code of Conduct at some point, but I can't find it any more, if it ever existed in the first place.
  7. I should get my list of Typos compiled and posted here. @Coyotedancer knows what I'm talking about.
  8. I mean . . . because they wanted to? I may take Taunt on all of my Tankers, but I don't think it's a rule that everyone has to. It's part of the beauty of this game! Play as thou willith, et cetera et cetera.
  9. . . . ok, this is going to be rude of me, and I apologize, but I can't help it. Someone needs to make "Joe Blow" as Storm Defender, like . . . Right. Now.
  10. I find the Damage Proc(s) in Taunt also rather handy, since Taunt is auto-hit. Sometimes I even take both Taunt AND Provoke on a Tanker, such as Algia Kruos my Ice/Ice. Unrelenting is a nice Power to have, and Pacify just wouldn't have made any sense.
  11. On behalf of @Tess LaCoell, here is a special event announcement: " House of Tess is opening for another fun afternoon of music and social roleplay! " " Come and have fun! " " Queer Owned and Operated. " " Don't be a dick. " Starting at 3:30pm (ET), today. HoT-9075, Everlasting Shard DJ Violet Wanda, DJ Reimix, and DJ Klubwerk will be providing musical accompaniment.
  12. At -most- I would say only the Signature NPC costume pieces should ever be unlockables, and only as a compromise from the current hardline stance of "no one gets them at all." And, of course, those unlockables should be accessible from any level, just so that if a concept calls for them, the player doesn't have to wait to some arbitrary level before they can have their friends help them unlock it.
  13. I mean, City of Heroes is great and all, @Greycat . . . but I think I still like the Shy Erotic Foe more. (I kid! I kid. . . . although I wonder what anagram silliness we can get up to with "City of Villains" After all, Redside is Best Side!)
  14. Oubli' got it. My intent was for people to post -requests- for name suggestions based on theme/concept. But looks like the people who want to help got ahead of the game and just started posting general advice and tips. So, hey! At least the community is eager to help! That's good news!
  15. Sorry, I'm not sure I'm 100% on the concept, since the last time I looked at w.o.w was like 2005. Are you saying there are entire zones in that game which can not be accessed by any player until a certain quota is met, and then the zone is . . . what? Unlocked for a set period of time, and at the end it kicks everyone back out? Isn't that sort of what our Trial Missions/Instances are? I mean, without the "unlock" cost beyond grinding up to X level.
  16. I would gladly take a Prestige Power which floors my Defenses and Resistances, but allows whatever NPC is following me to never lose sight of me.
  17. I . . . I don't . . . *blinks* I don't even understand how that could work, @0th Power.
  18. You may wish to review https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/12155-going-forward-can-we-have-more-things-that-mean-something/ as it touches on some very similar ideas as this.
  19. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDIgS-Soo9Q&t=7s @Ashington
  20. Interesting. Here I was thinking it was too high, heh.
  21. Did you slot the ATO Proc, @GastlyGibus? That might be the source of it. Or, alternatively, like me, using the temporary team revive Powers.
  22. I think if anyone is "control freak" enough to demand someone slot something like this, then they're control freak enough right now to just boot an Energy Blaster or Storm Controller instantly upon discovering what their Sets are. I don't believe that the addition of more options is going to significantly increase the number of players who conduct themselves in such a manner as those team leaders. I think that something of this nature should be as accessible and simple to switch on and off as possible, as to limit the overhead and problems experienced by the players who actually have the Knockback Powers they want to switch. And I know it would be a pain in the butt with the way the code works, but I -still- think it would be hugely beneficial to do a batch pass through of all Player Powers to add an instance of a 100% chance of Mag 0 Knockup to every Power with Knockback/Knockdown. And then change the KB->KD Enhancements to switch the Knockback to Mag 0 and the Knockup to Mag .67 This will (in theory) resolve that annoying as hell issue with two ticks of Knockdown turning in to Knockback (or Knockdown on Clockwork / low-level targets, et cetera). Mag 0.67 Knockup also has a really fun animation that I would like to see more of.
  23. SO! With that big ol' thread about that ol' subject of some players feeling like they just can't find a name which "clicks" with them, I figure that we can make a dedicated thread to helping to solve their individual problems! Any time you have a concept, but you just can't get the name(s) you want for it, feel free to bring it to this thread. Our crack team of volunteer wordsmiths will do our best to offer you some alternatives for consideration! Please; let's just focus on constructive assistance for those players who are in need. The policy exists, and it will go in to effect when it goes in to effect, if ever. That much isn't under our control right now. The debates, arguments, and discussions about the topic can go in to any one of the other threads which are dedicated to those debates, arguments, and discussions. Thanks!
