  1. AH! I see now. You certainly have permission to advertise my events. I will always post my updates to the same thread ( https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/15702-monkey-fight-club-its-not-a-secret-anymore/ ) and to the Event Calendar here on the forums ( https://forums.homecomingservers.com/calendar/ ). I'll also try to remember to keep in touch and message you in-game as well. Do you and your united Chaosites have any preferences for when you'd like to see the next Rikti Monkey Fight Club Event?
  2. There isn't anyone who needs my permission to run Rikti Monkey Fight Clubs events of their own. I welcome others to take up the mantle if they're so inclined! Just be sure not to antagonize anyone with talks of "gambling" in General Chat. But if anyone would like to request I run another event myself, just contact me to hash out details of the "when" for it. At this point, I'm fairly flexible with my evenings for the American Eastern time zone after 7pm, with the exclusion of Monday and Thursday nights. Got (virtual) tabletop roleplay gaming to do on Monday nights, and in-game City of Heroes roleplay campaign activities on Thursday nights. My main account in-game is @VileTerror and is the most surefire way to reach me.
  3. I look forward to seeing more!
  4. "The women of New Vegas ask me a lot if there's a Mrs. New Vegas. Well, of course there is. You're her. And you're still as perfect as the day we met." . . . what? Were you expecting some quote from Three Dog? No. New Vegas is the superior game.
  5. See, I always found the City to be so lively with the ambient atmospheric sounds of the city! It is, in my opinion, one of the most under-appreciated aspects of the game. It sounds like home!
  6. I know I'm not about to be helpful, and I do appreciate your reporting of the issue you've experienced related to the Membrane Power, but . . . I'd just like to call attention to your Inspiration Tray for all the obsessive Inspiration organizers out there in the community. I can scarcely imagine how many of them are going to vibrate straight through a wall when they see that.
  7. Jim Sterling has strong feelings about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aho-6GLe5cc
  8. I think you'll get nigh-unanimous support for Power Slide colourization and the addition of facial expressions, @Argent Aegis, but I can tell you that there is no shortage of players who absolutely detest the voice overs in the Destroyed Galaxy City Tutorial. We had a big hooplah about it in a thread when Homecoming first started. I can try to track it down sometime. The short version: If any more vocalizations are added to the game, it seems wise to make them entirely optional!
  9. That kind of sounds like a rather negative approach to development, @CamdenJaxx. I can understand that you may personally have some preferences regarding browsers and software, though not everyone has the luxury of choice in that regard. I feel that if you would really like your website to succeed, a philosophy of developing with broad accessibility in mind would be very much to your benefit. If you aim for the lowest common denominator, while still maintaining the scope and depth of your intended features, I can only see that as being a good thing.
  10. Disclosure regarding the negotiations would be great, but I've been under a few N.D.A.s as well, so I have sympathy and understanding there. It looks suspicious from the outside, but ncsoft isn't the only corporation (especially in the games industry) to pull stuff like this. The servers are still up, and I know many players who haven't donated but are still yet able to continue to play, so the proof is in the pudding there. Where I -don't- understand the communication blackout is in regard to the Homecoming roadmap and game design documents. THAT stuff would benefit the whole community if it could be visible. This isn't a for-profit venture; the excuse of keeping things under wraps to build hype is not the way toward a healthy and long-living community. Yes, there will be people who are upset, even irrationally so if they see (or don't see) something on such a document which is a personal trigger for them. But keeping it secret only -defers- that upset until it's released anyway. The Dark Melee AoE changes didn't demonstrate the irrationality of some players so much as it demonstrated the importance of clear communication. And it also demonstrated that as upset as some players were, their upset didn't really burn down the whole world. The lesson I would like the Team to take home there is not to give up, but to try again with more structure and clearer lines of communication about the intent and expectations. Open development with greater communication will lead to a stronger understanding of how the game works, its limitations, and how to work around those limitations for everyone. Some people will learn more quickly than others, but collective efforts from those in positions of advantage can help others. Ultimately leading to a net positive all around. I think it's high time we treat the whole community as one large collective development team. Decision-making is still handled by those in the appropriate positions. I'm not sure how clearly this needs to be stressed, but: This is NOT a call for democratic decision-making on design. This is a call for expansion of scope to include much more of the valuable development resources in terms of knowledge, experience, and problem-solving available by the whole community. We can get to critically analyze everything together and work toward widespread improvement. The constant shots in the dark over on the Feedback and Suggestions board would truly benefit from a more clear vision of what's on the goalboard. And worst case scenario with long-term open communication of this sort: Some players realize that Homecoming isn't really for them sooner rather than later, and can move on to a server which might be more suited to their interests. Again; we're not for-profit. Let us PLEASE do away with business tactics instituted in this industry solely to fleece people of their money.
  11. *shrugs* Freaklympics?
  12. @Chance Jackson https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvQ_UWMFeQ4&t=7s But, yeah; I work in food service as a cook. Slow-Food is a thing: https://www.slowfood.com
  13. Free Level 2 Cosmetic Toggle for (almost) every Set. Like Walk. Switch it on, and it forces a draw of your weapon and/or hand glow and/or body spikes, et cetera. Disables all other Powers while the Toggle is on. Like Walk!
  14. Yes, @InvaderStych. What Patti said. Could you elaborate on this thread topic idea you have, please?
  15. Other than some unpleasantness in the mid-to-later parts of the thread, @borgking001a; https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/21689-streaming-and-ncsoft-deal has the answer you seek. Which is: We have no idea. The GMs have no idea. Hell, even the Devs probably have no idea. We are (very likely) sitting on the capricious whims of some executive(s) sitting in an office halfway across the world from the game servers. I'd personally assume the answer is "never," so that if it ever changes, there can be a sense of surprise!
  16. SO! What's the word, @Isenraven. Did anyone hit upon a name you like yet? Can you help us narrow it down some if not?
  17. Cute face, @Piecemeal. I can see why the cookie wasn't good enough now.
  18. Welcome Home! If there's anything which your friend or the Guides can't seem to answer, feel free to ask here. Someone is bound to have an answer for you somewhere!
  19. I would be interested, sure! And this might be appropriate in the https://forums.homecomingservers.com/forum/60-tools-utilities-amp-downloads/ board more-so than General, but I'll let a forum moderator make that particular call.
  20. Fairly sure there -are- fast food restaurants. Unless we're assuming City of Gyros and El Super Mexicano are slow-food restaurants. Also, there's a second creepy child, and she's around all the time . . . forever . . . always a child . . . even after 15 years . . . https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Penny_Preston But she's a mutant, so it's fine.
  21. I'll take Shadeknight's cookies instead then, @Saeletra!
  22. "Flamebeaux goes bad" Implying she was good to begin with?
  23. Ah, but is that a virtual potato, @Jimmy, or a genuine potato?
  24. Likely related to https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/21675-state-of-the-project-august-2020/ And another one, although not as populous.
  25. Hold on . . . https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/19111-is-work-on-page-6-ongoing-or-stalled/page/4/?tab=comments#comment-236832 Do I get to shout "Called it!" now?
