  1. Mercs are hard to build when wanting all the damage procs and pet buff IOs. There's just not enough slots to accommodate everything. Dark should be one of the secondaries that can make Mercs viable. Two big -tohit debuffs. Slotting Darkest Night and Fearsome Stare aggressively will debuff enemies to around -30% tohit. If you do the incarnates, T4 Musculature/Intuition Radial Alpha will bump it up to around -35% tohit. Power Boost would probably kick them up to -50%. Add in Maneuvers +4% def, Shadow Fall +6% def. Edict/Call to Arms +10% def, SCotMM +15% AoE def. Mercs have inherent +25% S/L resistance. Sovereign/Expedient/SMoS +35% resistances to all damage types. The pets should be pretty solid within IO buff range. Provoke would help but probably isn't needed. Build your MM to 33% def. Set pets to passive/stay nearby a group. MM stealth in (Shadow Fall + Celerity unique) and applies Darkest Knight to take the alpha. Then set pets to defensive/follow so they rush in. Fire off a Fearsome Stare, drop a Tar Patch, launch a heal. If stuff goes sideways, Howling Twilight to stun the enemies. Or grab Web Grenade to immobilize the group to keep them out of melee. Or a lot of players swear by Bonfire though I haven't tried it myself. This is probably how I would slot Merc pets for survivability: | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Reborn : Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;781;363;726;HEX;| |78DAF3AD70E159E7DE68CFC028E09C93585C1CEF9B585C925A949B9997C2EA9B989| |E99CCCC0004EC402C8B90890F2ECDCDCDCFD3F34D2D4A4ECD4B2CCA4C2D96479275| |2A4D4BD373CECF498977C9070A249664E6E7310806E4E7E7E879E6956516672665E| |6649654F28245DC32D3334A32F3D2B921BC1C105708C2CE079A1E9F9F161F9E9993| |23EC5A9099ACE79C9158949E0A7563A504D0555A403C9F95010AFEB3327C0652869| |C0C4C0799181884591898C258807C16069687CC10DA99094CB34542C4FFE3058B81| |2673434DE6869ACC130AD1C9F30868922C0B03DF1788897C11107181AF0C4498BC1| |468B224D464C910884EA9A310374A3D030AABB330C88443C4655E42F87227998930| |190DC8B0C0038701AC93410B43C40043C41043C41843C40443C40743C41721F23F0| |0C86684CA3282653905181898A1B26FB980B28CC8B2EF3144DE61887CC010B1D242| |D8688DC4B6D18247E57F5B2D78E0FF6711078629C484FF00AE8711FF| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
  2. Defenses are not quite softcap except for S/L/E. Power Boost will enhance all your defense powers for only 15s, except for Farsight which will be enhanced for it's full 120s. Turn off Power Boost on your Mids' build and add +6.14% to all your type/positional defense totals. This will be your actual defense most of the time. Build needs some KB resistance. I like integrating the whip attacks. The -resist debuffs will help pets/teammates do more damage. Maybe add Accurate Defense Debuff IOs in Slowed Response to help ensure it hits the target. I'm a fan of frankenslotting pets to increase their damage output. But it's a catch-22 where changing their slotting would decrease your MM's survivability by losing IO set bonuses. Regardless, it's a great build. Nice job!
  3. I'm kind of surprised nobody seems to remember the Medic was fixed during live. Maybe i19 or i20. He stopped using Brawl as long as he had at least one upgrade. Here's a video I made/posted 7+ years ago, fighting a pylon with the Medic staying perfectly in place... Even allowing his fellow Mercs to get pummeled without trying run to heal them. Trash Medic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KtGeMht2-Y Also a video I made/posted in July 2019, again vs a pylon, standing in the back. Just shooting and launching grenades. His name is Red Alert. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=895n7XZtiak
  4. I vaguely remember Microcosm tested and found AS-SR-PS-MB-repeat was the best chain for a Staff Stalker, which you have enough recharge to run already. I could be wrong but you can send him a message (He's on Homecoming with the same name) or dig in the old forums to find it. http://web.archive.org/web/20120904110516/http://boards.cityofheroes.com/forumdisplay.php?f=596 Also it looks like you can get IH, RoP and MoG in a seamless cycle just by using IO boosters in IH (199s down to 191s) and RoP (189s down to 180s). MoG's 15s duration will cover the 11s gap. Squeeze in the Reactive Defense unique if you can. I prefer that over Shield Wall. It will surpass SW in resistances if you drop down to below 80% hp. That's a cool build, I like it a lot!
  5. During live, the top DB attack chain was BF-Ab-SS-Ab-repeat. Ab needed a massive amount of recharge to achieve it though. About +313% recharge for the chain to be seamless. It was a cool chain because of it's speed, it had double stacked BF buff after the first cycle. Also Ab and SS could both slot -damage resist procs. Hecatomb set, boosted to +5, would give about +97% recharge. So global recharge should be about +216%. -70% for Hasten, +146% global recharge. Stuff like Spritual/Agility Alpha, Ageless Destiny would reduce that number even more. Crammed as much recharge as I could into a DB/Rad build, surpassed the target but the build looks like utter crap... | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Reborn : Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1459;659;1318;HEX;| |78DA65935B6F12411886676129851628ADB5274EA5A55068B18D5E788C5151A3822| |1F6DAE016C6761304C2A2B18D9AD46B8F7FC11BEFFC21C6C38D467F8067AD7A6F14| |3FE67BA5C49DECE6997967BFE3EC14AEE7069F9CDE3A2A34FF89AA6159A59572D36| |83464D35530D6CCB2E80C37BD93FFF4524156A5CCE6AE1AD5D2F1AA519156ACBB95| |939765CD92D90B46C5345A66BD563AD6BC526F0A6FB15EAF66571A52567C6A7ACA5| |C5B6F99B5B5805AE525B9695AEB6623A8D6676AD74CCB5C35AB666B63F864C32C67| |29D0A62C150CAB259B1BE394CE3CBD9B6E81D1A68786882769A1F52A37DC1044DBA| |5CD398458D68523D9A14738524C7D1E4CF37E5F86F9988238D99BEE0C3995361406| |23CCE1281863DEA4782E8EA7BB7EB19F5DBFC13FCCDD6D50B0CD2D77A7C59ACAD17| |D4957DAB801AE3227CB60851992CC59AAD8838A3DAAE20429035006B82BE4DF07C5| |9711CA6E8EBE0A704C3D80DA42A82D82DA22A82D82DA34F213446DC1B35C43EC1C9| |8070BCCE9F3CC24C519D1541CE7C83BD2C2B4F71EFCC09CF9C87492FF51E439AA32| |D7491963C535E6D594C79901709439EB03FD6080B945B61338F989FD9CCDDC01F02| |07808591E068F305394F5146CA73E71F5C9CFCCF92FE057F01B33BDCD0C52DC30FE| |CA3072BC4D5A149D8B3EC5F7CFC0E7CC8517E04BF8A51CE2B089E3841670428B38A| |1459CD0224E284D3609C44EA80EFA28720A4A0AD93CF2099161CD9979C5BDDFF31A| |7C03BE65FAC93E0BFB2CEC03A42D415B8216D2FFBF8B51BD7B17DB69DBEE924D59B| |6297B6DCA3E9B92B72945BD7BE385A614CF90E8DC3495C9B69776B5DEDD1F3B8AAE| |A1CF7DE8733FFADC8FFE7AA799DF6D5E7EEE282EED0EFF45DEBBCCC17BE07DA6FF0| |1F8905924DB363A75B1676EF4CC577BE67F01BBCFFE57| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
  6. For pets to do better damage, gotta slot for it. The fear set in Dire Wolf is counterproductive. Add procs to Wolves (Achilles', Lady Grey, Shield Breaker), and Dire Wolf (Impeded Swiftness). Soulbound Allegiance wherever you can fit it in, preferably in Wolves. Also take Assault from the Leadership power pool. As for the Epic/Ancillary pool, I like Mace Mastery. Jump in with Time's Juncture to apply the -tohit/slow debuff, Web Envelope to immobilize the mob and Distortion Field to hold as many as possible. Scorpion Shield for incarnate content. Power Boost will help almost all of Time's powers (Buffs, debuffs, heals and mezzes). This is probably what I would roll with for a BM/TM build. | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Reborn : Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1619;783;1566;HEX;| |78DA65944B4F135114C7EF74A6620B48A1148AF4CDA3D0421FA02B17262012A14D8| |096876E48030526E92B14125DFA01DCE8C20F6062C242DD29BA73E1C2B83146C5B7| |D195A8204659E8A69E99FFB16DD2499BDF99FFBDE73933377EF14CC3EDF1CBA7856| |419CDA48AC5C578AAB8915ECFAAB965633CB5AA2EC982AE3AFABB2B2B8B89CD6C36| |9F0B8DA449628F4BDEAAF591CD95955052CDA66931A7163633A90D359F13E6A97C3| |E134A14D2E9E546DD3CABAEAE6DA8B9D526FD2E964E2DA7D78B6B6AA11EAB196DD9| |315650974255C1E3A9A5F4FFA4762A6C88FE639A2124FA978CE280105584E190682| |7CE29FABDF24906470D3A8F9C87BE63137C9524714BD2B5E81DA25511AF6C88AAC5| |95A6B17664063C9A602641F32C730E7C4DBEB2EE5C52E4BBC8796C9B791FB43C00C| |361D43C4E7D18914F18BDD07C34FD3AC41175414D33893714DBC47599BEA02FCB2E| |D8F295F90D6CFDCEDC03CF518E7A9E553DCFAA6D16B368FB6CD06766DFC5ECEC0BD| |08F3F86AF44B534727D8D25BAC45BAAA409D5199B9E93B79376BF001D2F993BA0EB| |2F187D84A8CD14AD19BE72B345D23B73D9303DD72F64F44C82EF288F95A769E53C1| |ECEE3E13C5ECEE3E53C13D4A90D9D0A1BC79529673BC769D70C6DBF5DD2BBED1AA2| |5C26E2217276FD91F5B76092E274F0C43A92A8BDFB279E44F70DC4E89E87DE7B13B| |17A7FA386F7547727E7EBB4A086DE56D0CF35F94FD2B2228B30B3856A74F21377F2| |5B10A31ADC3C79376B1F28B60F9AEC7B8A37C9FF84D8AA88FE67B8EF7F68D07BF84| |87B7BF839F538D05FBF130CB8986EA6071CB88218F7E8B60F7994BE69680333CC04| |389864CE82DBE413443E4390FB1EE4BEC3DCF77E831021EE2914444F56EA3DC2BD4| |7781E0EA5FC85D24F7BEB02354AA44689D628C335CA891A25A6F041A229A7B4FC42| |C42BBB4A534AF9441092EE61B2D077CEAB7B665A656F69101DFDA868923441869FB| |E002F26BC5FBDBF0FFB0F2A9A41BA8A69365C635E07A7CDFA69A5E79CAFB217AAEC| |0B5576CC4A6E6C8FB757EC2D4DE7DAB77C153D1C289FA7A5E12A7B2850FE124AD18| |0768E607FA46ACF3FA61F0F78| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
  7. Made a mezzer MA/SR build in Mids' during live but never got around to creating him in game. He would of turned out pretty good. Can probably use an update with the newer IOs. 8. I find Pain to be... not great on an MM. It usually doesn't heal enough or frequently enough to keep pets alive. Especially if they're being 1-2 shot to death. If your heart is set on healing, try Demons/Thermal. Demon pet's inherent damage resistance + Ember Demon's dam resist buffs + Thermal's shield buffs makes them very sturdy. This gives Thermal heals a better chance of keeping them alive. You can pick all heals, shields and Ember Demon by level 12. Slot enhancements as soon as possible. Or if you want to stick with Pain, play a tankermind style by building up your MM's defense, take Provoke, set pets to defensive-follow. Having high defense will make your MM hard to hit, Provoke to draw attacks to you, Bodyguard mode to redistribute damage you take across your MM + all pets. You and your pets will take less damage this way and give heals a better chance to keep up. You can get info on Bodyguard mode here: https://cityofheroes.fandom.com/wiki/Mastermind Tankermind is great and can be done early but it really blossoms in late levels when IOs are slotted, the MM's defense is high, and have all 6 pets to share incoming damage with. Pet damage can be fantastic but it takes work and levels to get there. Slotting IOs/procs, incarnates, cracking the whip to apply damage resist debuffs, using Hell on Earth/World of Pain/Anguishing Cry etc.
  9. Thanks for plugging that into your parse program. I had Soulbound equipped into Genin. Jounins probably would have been 20-30% higher. I'll try a proc/Hybrid-less Jounin/Genin run. Or try Impeded Swiftness proc on Jounin, to see how often it activates on Caltrops. And maybe a hold proc on the Oni. He's using Char and RoF a lot more than I thought he would. Or maybe not. All my test builds are gone with this new update. Will try it on the weekend when I have more time.
  10. Haha! Yeah, well we all knew that. I'm hoping BGSacho throws the info into his parse program and shares the data.

  12. Gave it another try using Unknown Magi's trick of slotting/unslotting Soulbound across all Necro pets so that they all have a chance to BU. Removed Degenerative Radial Interface and Achilles'. Two runs. First one only lasted 2:00 mins before losing aggro. Second run lasted only 1:30 mins. T1 pets were ahead at the end of both attempts though not as much as earlier tries. chatlog 2020-01-13.txt
  13. Yes, here's the log: https://www.scribd.com/document/442790547/chatlog-2020-01-12 Is starts at page 215, around 2020-01-12 22:18:38. Or let me know if there's a better website to upload it to. Just picked the first one found with Google. chatlog 2020-01-12a.txt
  14. I think Redlynne is right about Soulbound. Just did a test with no procs (Including Soulbound) slotted in any Necro pet. Ended up losing aggro but for a solid 3ish minutes, the dps meter shows zombies were ahead in dps with 14.8k, Grave Knights were at 12.5k and Lich with 3.8k. Soulbound would probably amplify each tier pet damage by a pretty even amount over time. So if it was slotted in Zombies, their total might have been 20k; if it was slotted in Grave Knights, their total might have been 17.7k. Maybe a lot less on Lich since he has several debuff powers instead of damaging attacks. He probably would have been at 6k. Of course if we can't keep T1 pets alive, Soulbound would likely work better on T2 pets. I didn't include any damage procs because they are not affected by Build Up and would just skew their dps numbers (Though -damage resist debuffs do help procs do more damage). Left Achilles' slotted because it would help all pets. Of course I made a video. https://youtu.be/OrIIiAFsr_U
  15. Made a new video on Beta. I was probably misremembering Lady Grey/Shield Breaker in Commando. Looks like they combine to add about 8% damage. Not 8% per proc. Would probably turn out even worst vs a group since Buckshot, M30 Grenade, and LRM Rocket all trigger Explosive Strike. Notice how the Mercs stay perfectly in place. They're not running in to bust their knuckles on metal. This update is going to be epic for MMs. Mercs alone, 207s for 313 dps.
  16. This is currently how I have Mercs set up: Soldiers: Lady Grey, Shield Breaker, Overwhelming Force, Soulbound Spec Ops: Achilles', Lady Grey, Shield Breaker Commando: Explosive Strike | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Reborn : Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;794;361;722;HEX;| |78DAF3AD70E159E7DE68CFC028E09C93585C1CEF9B585C925A949B9997C2EA9B989| |E99CCCC0004EC402C8B90890F2ECDCDCDCFD3F34D2D4A4ECD4B2CCA4C2D96479275| |2A4D4BD30B2EC92FCA852ACCCC4B67100CC8CFCFD1F3CC2BCB2CCE4CCACCC92CA9E| |4058BB865A6679400157043783920AE10849D0F343D3E3F2D3E3C332747D8B52033| |59CF3923B1283D15EAC64A09A0ABB480783E2B0314FC676538CBC4C060C8C2C0C40| |674B82C900E6301F3591E3243E808089FCD19A2AE8005AE178880004C60058B81D6| |7043ADE10E8118C37304622CCF41A071C22C0C7C50EBF9A0D60B4442D4FDC70B960| |24D96849A2C290BA40C3919A442213AA52A2126CB8443F8322F81F2EA2C0C728F98| |C036FC2705C860F8560B43C40043C41043C41843C40443C40743C41721F23F00C86| |684CA3282653905181898A1B26FB980B28CC8B2EF3144DE61887CC010B1D242D868| |8DC4B6D18247E57F5B2D78E0FFF711068631C484FF00B6260F78| |-------------------------------------------------------------------| There's other procs that can be slotted but doesn't seem worth it. Spec Ops can slot hold, accurate -tohit and immobilize procs but use them infrequently because of their long recharge (Tear Gas 180s, Flash Bang 120s and Web Grenade 30s). Soldiers can slot KB IOs but only a single power by the Medic can trigger it (Frag Grenade 16s). Lady Grey and Shield Breaker are ok on the Commando but I opted for better pet survivability and went with Edict and Call to Arms. The Explosive Strike proc triggered more often, increasing his dps by about 12% per pylon run. LG/SB procs increased dps by about 8% each when tested against a pylon. I imagine they would do worse vs a group rather than a single target. Here's a video, SNBR is scrolled through at the end that shows the dps numbers of various powers and procs. Any line with the word "bonus" is damage done by a proc.
  17. The quick and easy answer is just go Ageless Destiny. That would solve your end issues and add a lot of recharge for Burnout, Gang War and Storm powers. If Ageless is not an option, I think slotting will need to be worked on. More end reduction/recovery and damage. Force Feedback probably doesn't have much use if the build doesn't have the endurance to cast the powers. Also Burnout slaughters endurance. Around 50e to cast, reduces max end by -25%, which in turn reduces recovery. Here's my Mercs/Storm build. Endurance management isn't perfect but it can go 8 minutes of nonstop casting Gale, FR, Tor and LS, before end bottoms out. It's good during gameplay, no fight lasts that long and end replenishes while running from group to group. Haven't had any issues with this build though I haven't solo'd any Malta lately. | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Reborn : Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1680;798;1596;HEX;| |78DA75944B4F13511480EF3C0AB4056929B520146879140A1D5A516344430228415| |AC51451178614186092765ADB0161E91F305113DD698C8FC467625CE0D6E8C618FF| |811B354651511365E1AA9EDE736426699CD07CE79E7BDEF75E12ABA3D58FC72E0C3| |1C135924E150A338954C150F3194D9FAF4A2C1B2943CBEAACF455C2CF6F6ECE2497| |3399ACAE24D4FC9CAAA7F29A5A68B5EC0E2F2F2C2849239BCF90A1A62FBAC7F5253| |5AFEA86F24F704C66B369259953D5F95A2EC6D5D4BC9A2F2C6939275F1F496B8B4B| |869BCBE3FA8A56D066B5B466AC351FCE69738A255F2235A752E96B0D50E97EF8DDB| |031FA8A36F64664AC41666285849C96198BC94C7E27214FE3BA6244E4CCC916DF30| |206667154F9055EBC48F12A7E383CC633A3E61EC73B014C857F88CF1776C10BF205| |D5F89DF90759BC8EB50B384BEB2740F6B6AB84F7C80DCF590F80879137CB0D522B3| |0518D705E1B82A791145A1B217EB6D2616C0CD8E7B36BB4BC03DAFC0FD5A7C403F7| |037D6D3B2856CFB83BC05899CD49B730AF3B7BD249B0D507B6416A0590768D68133| |68E7869A6A30AF544379DB296FFB04C668FF853E06B8D4529EDAE7228FDB3120729| |F0E9A73C76B3CABAE7DA8EFA2BCB7A14637CDC34DF3F0406E0FCDC3B317204BAC8B| |58077B5EDC635EB27782CE47317C6F31CF1D88DB483535FA7196A193D85B680D6B0| |C9DC275CF7BACA5678B71AE80BA89CEB56902E3F5C491E104F118F138B21E6AF053| |0D7E9AD35DA8A19574AD54EB79881DA4BA827417FB8670267D34BBBEDF223FD7C83| |0EA23AF70DEAB60DE49BE9DE41B8960FE7E85D84F8CA26F2C86EB6710A29B66DA4D| |E719E37556B175D8EBC5B8426F12ED6353483BF4A5500F0AF575118A88922E7A096| |7D76CBE41910DE31CAB4788A3C8B069037FF0B168992656A61928D3EC29D3C44B1A| |BA156C106F4AC2B42A4E9AAF9C09DCC3EEDA7EBBC54D07EC92B710C173FA61EA44E| |128082178F7D3D87F7D00CFE3BBD5AF1BFD7E9A3A49B84C77E30A72E755E23564DC| |0340DBFF7FEE7AD3E884D7949F969CA9811741533E1036DB3E14DE7E04C5418BFE6| |078FB1F4371CC67C69C7494AE00CA672D72CA22CF5AE4BF865B271D| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
  18. Those are amazing kill times! The parse totals are not doing your builds justice. It calculated the dps numbers off the pylon's debuffed hp total. Calculating your dps from the pylons real hp, 38343.75, your dps totals come out to: Thugs/Traps: Run1 - 76s = 632dps Run2 - 80s = 607dps Run3 - 68s = 692dps Run4 - 63s = 736dps Demons/Dark: 84s = 572dps
  19. Dang it. I've avoided Zapp, for Moonbeam, during live/Homecoming because I thought dps was lower as well. Had to test to see for myself on beta. With the same IOs slotted, Zapp, Moon and Mace do equal damage vs a pylon.
  20. There was mention of kowtow and eating crow if proven wrong.
  21. Again, thanks for organizing, it was a lot of fun! Looking forward to the next one. Happy Birthday, BB!
  22. Found out the Beta is there, just need to add a new link to Tequila. Tested out Reactive with -regen debuff applied to the pylon (Howling Twilight/Twilight Grasp). It did pull ahead slightly but significantly less to what I thought. 23. Even set to Defensive/Follow, the pets will still act when attacked. When the MM is mezzed, pets will only do nothing if set to Passive. Though even while mezzed, I believe they will continue attacking a single target if set to Passive/Attack My Target.
  24. My MM staring annoyingly at her Mercs, "Why can't you do $h#t like this?"
  25. I don't have an answer to your question. I haven't done any testing with Degenerative vs Reactive with -regen debuffs involved. And I want to make it clear that I could be totally wrong thinking Reactive may be better in this situation. Degenerative lowers max HP of it's target. The -regen is a byproduct since regen is based off of max hp. A lower max HP, the target regenerates for a smaller amount per second. It's probably the main reason Degenerative has better pylon times. If -regen could be applied by other means, I believe Reactive would pull ahead. I don't see the Pineapple server on Tequila anymore. I love testing stuff like this.
