  1. I have it slotted with 2 Efficacy Adaptor, EndMod and EndMod/End. I can tell a difference on my Endurance between standing in the mob and standing outside of it. It's not a huge difference, but it is definitely a difference. Drains the heck out of the enemies, though. I also recommend an Energy Manipulator: Chance for Stun in there. It's a nice bonus control.
  2. On most of my Doms, I shoot for 110% global recharge bonus base, not including Hasten. With Hasten running, that hits 180%, which means that Hasten will be solidly permanent with two 50+5 Recharge IOs. I guess I play my Dominators more like Blasters in that I go for "kill them before they kill me" strategy moreso than the "outsurvive them" strategy.
  3. Also, I think it's fair to say, there's no real "wrong way" to play a Dominator. As long as you use regular CoX common sense, you'll be good.
  4. This is a legit point, but I think it makes the Dominator experience better, not worse. Remember that the Red ATs were designed to be better soloists and not designed around the holy trinity of teaming, wall/support/damage. So, they all tend to be more versatile at expense of raw specialized power. When looking at the Red ATs, you need to look at them as combos of that holy trinity. So, a Dominator is like a Controller and Blaster had a baby. More damaging than a controller, but less team support. Less damaging than a Blaster, but more team support. The cool thing about this is, you can decide how you want to play it. You can play more control-heavy, which is especially good with your domination going, or you can play more damage-heavy using controls just to keep yourself on the edge. You can build specifically for one way or another or you can build middle of the road and modify your play as the situation requires. For me personally, I think of my Dominators as Controllers without the bother of having to keep buffs and heals up on my teammates.
  5. If you want to soft cap one Defense (totally not necessary), AOE is the one you want to hit. That is what usually is going to end up getting you, mostly by accident. Generally, I don't worry too much about armors (Def/Res) for Dominators. Remember, Lock 'em and Clock 'em. Enemies that can't move can't hurt you.
  6. Your entire Dom and MM experience is completely different from mine. Like, everything you said, I find to be completely the opposite.
  7. Basically, yes. It follows you around. Yes, with enough recharge you can make it permanent.
  8. Yeah, I have it frankenslotted like most. I did put an Energy Manipulator: Chance for Stun in there. It's a nice bit of bonus mitigation, but I'm not sure if I will leave that in there. Definitely put one slot of EndMod in there and you will floor enemies' End in no time.
  9. I totally agree with this. I have a Dark/Savage and it is so easy to play. I went full melee on mine, just for theme. So, my attack sequence is usually Fearsome Stare, Living Shadows, Feral Charge, Rending Flurry. If there are any left (which is unusual), I pop Heart of Darkness, then continue rending. I try to remember to throw Haunt in there sometimes, so I have even more pets. I do have a Plant/Rad and honestly, I cannot see what the big excitement over Seeds of Confusion is. I mean, Confusion is a nice mezz, but it does not seem more impressive than any other confuse. I rarely use it on my Planter, generally just for emergencies.
  10. Yes. My motto on Doms is "Lock 'em and Clock 'em". I usually open with 2 or 3 aoe controls then head in for the bloodshed. If I see too many moving around, I will reapply controls. I tend to think of Dominators as Scraptrollers or Blastrollers, depending on your playstyle. I feel you on that because I came to Doms from a Controller, too, though my controller was /storm, so it was more of an aggressive controller than most. The other thing I recommend is to slot your control powers for damage, and damage procs. Dead is the best control.
  11. I have Sharditis, so I end up with a few on each shard, and I tend to move them around on random whims. Right now on EXCELSIOR I have: Vervende Vigornia - L39 Plant/Rad Dominator, half wood sylph, half ogre, a tortured soul tossed out of all her homes, now struggling to find a place in the humanx world. Victoria V 2.7104 - L45 War Mace/Ninjitsu Scrapper, native of "The Shard," a tortured soul of a destroyed universe cast out into the multiverse to find her way. Vengeance V - L50+ Psionic Melee/Bio Armor Brute, a tortured soul created through a horrible combination of a mutated wombat, a demon, and cybernetics, escaped from the clutches of evil to find her way and seek revenge.
  12. One thing to consider when wanting to do redside runs. Meet in Pocket D next to Null the Gull. Then anyone who needs to swap alignments can participate. Be sure to add that note to your invitational messages. Also, you can remind people that swapping alignment gets you badges and a free power. To me, now that Null is there, I hardly consider them different "sides". I keep most of my characters at Vigilante or Rogue, so they can easily participate in any content. I think the best thing way to increase participation on red "side" is to remind people how easy it is to get there, now. And, with base transports. getting from a blue to a red zone is as easy as getting from a blue to a blue.
  13. Very well said!
  14. Yeah, my next dom will be an Earth/Earth. I look forward to bonking people with a big stone. But, really, if you haven't tried Savage, I highly recommend it. Not only do you have the Nightcrawlery goodness of Feral Charge, but it is also one of the few Dom sets with a self-heal.
  15. What? That's crazy! I had never even thought about that. Had to go check. But, no, not resistible.
  16. I mean, if you're looking to play a scraptroller and you're not going /savage then what are we even doing here? With Blood Craze + Feral Charge + Rending Flurry you can clear out most minions in seconds. Then just use Feral Charge to hop around with Maiming Slash to finish the LTs and Bosses. The time saved on movement is incredibly powerful.
  17. What about Fire/? It has a self-heal that is almost as good as the Dark/ armor set, and it does not require a ToHit roll.
  18. Thanks! I figured.
  19. I know this has been asked a million times, but I cannot seem to find it. What happens when you slot the Force Feedback +Recharge Proc into Singularity? Does it only fire upon summoning Singularity? Does it fire every time Singularity casts a Knock power? If it does proc, does it affect Singularity or the caster? I'm sure I am going to be disappointed, but I had to ask. Thanks!
  20. Is DS of any use in PvP? I'm wondering how strong is the Immobilization? It seems like it might be a good way to hold off some opponents that you are not ready to deal with yet. Or place yourself in the DS and you could not be sniped from outside of it. Then anyone who entered would need to deal with the Immob. How big is the radius? From the description and power details, it seems like it would be good, but I've not used it much, so any tips are greatly appreciated.
  21. Er... Tankers don't get Ninjutsu? Did you mean Brute?
  22. Back on Live I had a Dark/Dark Scrapper that I could not get past the 30s. So. Much. End. Two swings and she exhausted, basically. I tried to make a Titan Weapons/Rad Armor Brute on Homecoming. I dunno, it's supposed to be good, but I could not get it to work. I think I should have taken a better armor set, but I can't figure out what that would be. I have a Psi/Bio brute now that freaking rocks. MM's I have the same issue as one of the earlier posters, just kind of boring. Also, my main is a Grav controller, and I got used to the brilliant Singularity as a pet, so when I found out the hard way that the MM pets are just complete morons, I couldn't handle it. Next time I want a bunch of pets, I'll make a Dark/Dark/Soul Controller. Elec/Atomic Blaster. No damage. Couldn't hit. Had decent controls for a blaster, but I'd rather just play a controller for that. Replaced her with a Beam/TA blaster and that is suhweeeeeeeet. Good idea for a fun thread!

    Grav/Energy

Oh okay, man I thought I was missing a trick there! That is also my target.
  24. I agree. Two significant problems with that. First is, when calculating overall effectiveness, we need to include down time. That is, time face down in the muck. All other things being equal, blasters spend more time there than dominators, and that reduces their total damage output. I mean, nowadays nobody seems to care about facetime, and everyone can just carry a ton of wakies, but still, downtime is downtime. Secondly, in a team setting, we look at the team benefit and dominators bring more safety to a team than a blaster does. Though blasters do have some controllish kinds of powers, it generally isn't much and isn't as strong. Keeping teammates up also adds to overall kill-rate. This is why, when working on characters, I prefer to look at overall kill-rate, rather than just individual damage numbers, particularly when teamed.

    Grav/Energy

Hang on, how are you getting perma-hasten at 110% recharge? Or do you mean 110% before adding in Hasten?
