  1. My first time trying /Dark secondary and I have no idea how to slot Dark Servant. I am doing Plant/Dark, if that makes a difference. It takes such an odd assortment of sets, but Mids does not provide any details about it.
  2. Post STOMPING the absolute snot out of Rommy. It was ridiculous. He died way faster than I've ever seen him. I'm not even sure he rezzed but once. I didn't notice getting stunned by his rez-stun at all.
  3. I can understand that. I think the lesson here is that there are lots of good solo choices for controllers! Dang, I had sworn off making new alts for a while, but this thread makes me want to try some more controllers!

    Beam/Dev Concerns

    Oh, you want an all-ranged awesome Beam/ blaster? I got you. Beam/Tactical Arrow. You got great self-buffs Eagle Eye, Agility, and Gymnastics. You got control arrows. You got debuff arrows. Just be sure you take the "no redraw" version of the powers, or you could spend all day pulling stuff out of your... uh... where ever you keep it.
  5. Okay, so basically, I should just single-slot it and not rely on it too heavily. That's good. I need those 5 slots elsewhere.
  6. I keep a bunch of Restorations in my Email. That's easiest. That way they are available to any alt from anywhere, and they don't take up spaces in my Inspirations.
  7. I have this great Savage/Dark, and I picked up Blood Craze because hey, a heal on a Dom. That's pretty sweet. But, I use it and it just makes almost no difference. I have it fully slotted out, and still, it barely moves the HP bar. Does anyone like this? Am I crazy? Or is it really just junk?
  8. This is an excellent point. I had not thought about that. I bind numpad0 to my Domination, but I could just as easily bind it to Hasten and have to hit it around 30% less often.
  9. This is my Dark/Savage version. I went more for melee than ranged. Thematically, it works so well, you're a scary beasty thing. It has ridiculous kill speed. And it is usually kept safe by the great controls. But, if things get out of hand, the problem it that it is tissue paper. If there gets to be more opponents than I can control, it will go down fast. In a team, it is rarely an issue, but solo, if I accidentally pull 2 or 3 groups on high difficulty, I can have trouble.   10. It's funny, people ask me that, but it has never been an issue. Like, really not. I guess because stuff dies so fast? I do run Ageless most of the time. But, even when I am running Barrier, it's not much of an issue. This definitely helps. I can fill the blue with just 2 or 3 targets. It comes up every mob or two and that's plenty often.
  11. Fire/Kin back on live Maybe 32? It just felt so papery. Something would look at it and it would die. All of everyone loving on it, I could not see why. I had to give up before I ended up just hating the game, in general.
  12. You won't have much of an energy problem on Dark/Savage. I have one, and it is not too bad. I tend to focus on kill-speed over control, so combat goes quick.
  13. I am pretty sure that some enemies have a taunt resist. I also am pretty sure that some enemies have a range debuff resist. I am almost positive that Rikti Magii have that.
  14. This is something I look at a lot, which is why I can't seem to move off my F3 tank. I don't see the point of giving up her damage for an overkill on "toughness". Resists in the 65-70+ range, S/L 90, Defs at about 20-30. And a nice heal. That seems to be plenty for most anything. I mean, tanking Recluse on a bad team could go badly, but other than that, I haven't really run into much of anything she can't handle.
  15. So, way back in the day, before everybody just used Fire for boring old farming, we actually tanked. For those who remember, there was a tank named Impyre who showed all the doubters that a Fire tank could tank anything, even before IOs and Incarnates. My main was a Fire tank, and Impyre was my mentor. Of course, when HC came back, I recreated her and have been tweaking her ever since. This is where I ended up. Some minor holes, but nothing that cannot be easily handled. The only thing I have not had a chance to try her against is Hamidon. Other than that, she's stood up against pretty much everything. Still does plenty of damage, too. And looks damn good doing it.   17. Yup, and I claim rights to pioneering Grav/Storms back on Live. I played one for years, and never saw any others. Got many comments about how surprised people were at the effectiveness. Have many forum flame sessions about how effective/ineffective they were. Meanwhile, I was out roflstomping Romans when they were still supposedly immune to controllers. Used to solo the walls even before Incarnates came out.
  18. For Gravity, it really comes down to this, do you want to crush your enemies and also do some back up damage, or do you want to crush your damage and buff/debuff? Gravity is such a powerful set, it hardly matters what your secondary is from an OP standpoint. Decide what you want to do in between crushing stuff, and do that.
  19. Seriously, my first character and first 50 was a Tanker, way back in the day. I kept hearing about this "mezz" stuff and how everyone hated Carnies. I went on the forums numerous times making a fool of myself saying things like, "Mezz isn't that bad in this game!" and "Carnies are my favorite to fight!" Then I made a Blaster... FFFF that SHSHSH. Made it to about 18 and that thing never came out of the character bin. I replaced it with a Controller because I wanted some payback. To this day, I still have the same two mains, a tanker and a controller.
  20. SBB is fun. I take my Grav/Storm there all the time and just roll over stuff. Been in a few times with an all Plant/ team of troller/doms, and it is just, I mean, everything just melts without even noticing.

  22. If you're tanking for damage, please don't play a tank. Unless you plan to only solo. Not saying tanks can't do damage, they most certainly can. But, your role as a tanker is shepherd, not wolf. If you are going to play your tanker as a scrapper, just go build a Scrapper. This type of attitude just ends up with dead and annoyed teammates. We already have enough bad tanks giving us a bad name.

  24. This is a build I was using to good effect. I kind of left out the more melee stuff, but that's up to you. Also, you could dump the Leadership pool for the Fighting Pool to be more soloist based. And, I'm sure there will be plenty of people to tell you to take Ice Mastery, but I'm much more of a fan of Soul.
