Questions regarding Leadership & Bots/Time Skills
Adeon Hawkwood replied to UnlikelyHeroTx's topic in Mastermind
Regarding Leadership, you can probably afford to skip Tactics. Time has a nice To Hit Buff in Farsight and in general one or the other will be sufficient. The MM attacks aren't as bad as people make out, they're a little worse than Defender attacks but they can be useful if you take and slot them. Additionally if you want to Tankermind (which Bots/Time is well suited for) then dealing a bit of damage yourself will make the Taunt from Provoke more effective. Regarding Time your primary damage mitigation powers are Time's Juncture, Distortion Field and Farsight. Temporal Mending is useful to have but if you use the other three powers right you shouldn't need it much (I wouldn't skip it since it's useful as a self heal but Time has better ways of protecting teammates, espeically when paired with Bots). Temporal Selection and Time Stop are both ultimately skippable, they're worth taking if you've got the room but I also wouldn't lose sleep over skipping them. Slowed Response is important for damage dealing but relatively boring. Chrono Shift is useful as an emergency heal while solo but on a team it's better to use it proactively as a recharge buff. Regarding enhancements, there are six pet aura enhancements and taking some or all of them is incredibly useful. At level 50 you can potentially take all six without having to sacrifice damage or accuracy on your pets but at lower levels you'll need to skip some in favor of damage and accuracy. Also don't forget to slot your protector bots for defense, it's critical for keeping you and your pets alive. One useful tip for Time is to get some Membrane Exposures for Farsight. Three of them will max out Defense, To Hit and Recharge for it. -
Let us see buy and sell offers

I'll chime in as someone who likes the current system. Another MMO that uses the same system is Runescape and it has a very robust player economy so clearly the system works. One thing I would like to see is more info to reduce the knowledge gap a bit. I don't think we need to go full Runescape and have months of data available on a separate website but maybe something like the High, Low, Average and Volume for the last day or week would be useful. -
My AR/Dev Blaster is now level 50 and ready to raids. Did we ever get momentum on getting them started?

Have you tried the /get_global_name slash command? I'm not sure if that works for offline characters or not.

So I decided to change things up a bit. This version of the build has more defense (44.6% ranged defense) at the cost of about 25% global recharge. Overall I think I prefer this version. The extra global recharge doesn't really make that much difference, even for full auto it's only about 1second difference on the recharge so I'd rather have the defense. I also rearranged things to have a range IO in both Buckshot and Flamethrower. It may seem like a small thing but the extra range does make it easier to get an entire group. One possible change I might end up making is replacing the blessing of the zephyr in Combat Jumping with the two Resist all IOs. For now though I think I'll stick with this. My view on it is that the Alpha Slot abilities are primarily there to close the gap between SO builds and IO'd builds. You're right that a lot of them are a bit weak if you're IO'd out but they are much more powerful for an SO'd build where you're not ED capped for everything. Even for IO'd build you can occasionally find a gem in the alpha slot abilities. For example back on live my AR/Dev blaster got great usage out of the Cardiac Core ability. I had Positron's Blast sets in my cones and slotting the Cardiac let me swap the Dam/End in those for Dam/Range which combined with the range boostbfrom the Cardiac itself gave me a nice boost to cone size for Buckshot and Flamethrower without running low on endurance.

The recharge cap is 500%. Note that this includes the base recharge of the power so the limit for buffs and enhancements is +400%. At 500% recharge powers will recharge in 1/5 of their base time. EDIT: FIxed my numbers, I was mis-rememebering.

Enhancement Converters You need to do some research but there are plenty of places where you can buy and craft uncommon and then reroll them into rares. In a lot of cases you can spend less than 1million inf buying the recipe, crafting it and re-rolling it into an enhancement that sells for 2-4million. After that it's just a matter of volume.

Empowerment Station buff durations
Adeon Hawkwood replied to Generator's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
As an alternative what about letting you stack them? So keep the base duration at 1 hour but let you buy a few hours at a time. The P2W vendro does this with the XP boosters so it's presumably feasible. -
Just bumping this one since someone else confirmed that they were seeing the same issue at 22.46% To Hit. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,3152.msg22315.html#msg22315

economy How to Make Millions on the Market in Minutes
Adeon Hawkwood replied to Robotech_Master's topic in Guides
Well the profit margins on it have been shrinking over the last week or so. More people are buying recipes so those are going up in price and the sell value of the enhancements has been dropping as more people are selling. So even with the price drop on converters profit margins are less than they were a week ago. That being said I'm not to worried. There will always be ways to make money on the market for two reasons. One is that when the profit margin drops people stop doing it so you tend to reach an equilibrium where the profit margin stabalizes around the number of people who are willing to do it for that margin. Secondly while anyone can do this there are always going to be plenty of players who don't want to spend the time and effort. They'd rather grind than marketeer and there's nothing wrong with that. -
Buwahaha! I remember when Demon Summoning came out. So many posts were people moaning about players actually taking their attack powers (dat whip yo), or 'even worse' foregoing their summoning powers in order to focus on said attack powers. I think the same thing happened with Thugs and their pistol attacks. The funny part is Mastermind attacks aren't even that bad. Damage-wise they're only slightly worse than Defender attacks so while they won't ever be your main source of DPS you can do a decent damage with them if you slot them up a bit. I generally take at least two attacks on my MMs and some have had more.
-
Have you tested to the attack to see if you can interrupt it? I think this is actually a display bug where the To Hit required for the yellow ring to appear is higher than the To Hit required for the fast-snipe to activate. I encountered a similar issue where when I have a To Hit bonus of 22.37% the yellow ring wasn't appearing but I was still getting the fast snipe animation (and was unable to interrupt the animation).
-
This is why we can't have nice things!
Adeon Hawkwood replied to Vinxnotha's topic in General Discussion
That change was coming out on live before the game was shutdown. It was a part of the I24 Blaster changes along with fast-snipe and sustain. -
Eagle-Eye does not activate Ranged Shot (Sniper) instant-casting
Adeon Hawkwood replied to Omega9's topic in Blaster
Question, are you actually able to interrupt your snipe (by moving) or are you just judging it by the lack of a yellow yellow ring? I encountered a bug at 22.37% To Hit where Sniper Rifle was activating using the fast snipe rules (a fast shot with no interruptable period) but he yellow ring wasn't appearing so I think there may be a display bug where the indicator for fast-snipe being in effect requires more To Hit than the power actually requires. I posted a bug report so if you're seeing the same issue it would be good if you could also confirm it so we know that it's a general bug and not my specific conditions: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,2285.msg14477.html#msg14477 -
Adeon - is this an issue for when you are exiting a mission? Or just moving between zones? For the former I don't see an issue, and especially if you are trying to leave a mission in a hurry (bad guys after me) you don't need extra prompts slowing you down. When it comes to zoning or the tunnel/monorail/etc, it doesn't really bother me that much to have to select something and I can even see where it autoselecting for you causes problems Yeah it would be fine for exiting missions but not for general use.

Remove brawl from ranged MM pets
Adeon Hawkwood replied to Deathblade2007's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
To be honest I just lean into it and lead my bots on a wild charge into melee range. But I'm also playing Bots/Traps and a somewhat aggressive player. -
So first off ignore PK, he misunderstood your request. Secondly unfortunately Oranbega missions can be like that sometimes. There's not a lot you can do other than exploring every nook and cranny. I had exactly the same problem a few days ago, I eventually found him hiding on a tiny ledge in a small nook. Since you can't drop the mission what you can do it get a mission from another contact (radio mission will work) and set that as your active mission. Doing that should make the mission to rescue Percy reset at which point the map will be rerolled and with any luck you'll find him hiding in a more obvious spot.

I’ve meaning to ask - what purpose does walk serve? Most of your abilities are turned off and you walk? I’m trying to imagine why this requested or developed... One of the devs (Back Alley Brawler IIRC) did it for fun. It wasn't really requested it was just a fun little side project that he wanted to do. Personally I found the number of people who got really upset about him doing this absolutely hilarious.
-
I'm a 37 Spine/Regen Scrapper. Same one I took to 50 years ago, but it was never this bad. Well the easiest option would be to pick Body Mastery or Weapon Mastery so you can take a perception buffing power in your epic pool.

So here is my first pass at a build for my AR/Dev Blaster (who's basically 1 bar short of 50). I'll probably tweak it a bit more but I'm reasonably happy with how it is now. I've got 35% ranged defense and 118% global recharge. No hasten as a personal preference but it would be pretty easy to make this a perma-haste build if you wanted to. I'm actually debating if I want to scale back the recharge a bit in favor of more ranged defense but need to mull over it (an easy change would be to replace the Apocalypse set in Slug with a Thunderstrike set). In practice I'll probably use attuned enhancements for any set that I'm not using enhancement boosters on but you can't really show that in Mids. As a related note, I'm mulling over the inclusion of the two global resist IOs in Maneuvers. It's not a major amount of resistance but still 8% resistance isn't insignificant for the cost of two slots. Any thoughts or suggestions? Eagle-Eye does not activate Ranged Shot (Sniper) instant-casting
Adeon Hawkwood replied to Omega9's topic in Blaster
Tactics alone will not unlock fast-snipe. First you need to overslot Tactics (you need 90% enhancement before applying ED effects) which will get you to 16% To Hit and then you need to add a Kistmet IO for an extra 6% To Hit in order to hit the 22% threshold. So yeah, Targeting Drone is much easier. -
There are powers that buff perception and/or resist perception debuffs. The general purpose one is of course Tactics from the Leadership pool. Some sets also have them, notably if you're a melee character then you can get Focused Accuracy or Targeting Drone from your Epic Pool (my tanker back on live had focused accuracy just to give me a way of handling blinds and to hit debuffs). If you've got a supergroup base you can get a one hour long Increased Perception buff at the empowerment station pretty cheaply. The downside is it's an auto-power not a toggle. https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Increase_Perception_(Empowerment) There is an IR Goggles temporary power that boosts perception as a toggle but unfortunately it's only obtainable as a random drop from the raid mission in safeguards so you can't easily get it.

Separate chat channel for DFB?
Adeon Hawkwood replied to garvisdol73's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
So just as a note, as someone who regularly forms TFs I tend to avoid people who just put up a LFG message in the channel. Since a TF requires a bit of a time commitment and I've got no clue if they have the time/inclination to run it I generally skip them and let people message me.
