15s durations can be impacted by activation times. 30s duration w/ 5min recharge can be a good spot for taking alphas and reactive purposes, but is a bit busy (this would be my choice) 45s duration avail up to 1/2 time.. this is just looking for a comparable power to string together. just my opinions. -

If I wasn't asking a question and showing an example, yes it would be strawman. But my question was not to refute the RoP changes. -

Jimmy do you mean pool powers or any power? Scorpion Shield seems to fit "A single power should not be able to bridge a gap that results in entire parts of the game being obviated" Are all these type powers on the chopping block? What about Incarnates? Specific IOs? Proc'd out epics? It would be fair to give folks a heads up. -
One advantage the Flight pool has had is that it can use powers like Combat Jumping and still fly. The Leaping pool cannot use Hover and still effectively jump. Teleport can use both and still teleport. Super Speed cannot. There are many combinations of travel powers that leverage different aspects of the available powers to achieve different goals. Increasing Lives minimum flight speed a little would be preferred by many. Increasing Lives flight cap, and providing a path to or near the cap that does not require 3 power selections or slotting an individual power to ED range sounds good. (I haven't see this entirely yet) Question: Power swaps/removal/replacements by the dev team still come with a free respec? With multiple builds per character are there multiple free respecs? I look forward to build 4.

stand like an X with both hands in the air and Flares shoot out.. while hovering you are not crazy

Ha! Thanks for the stability tweakers

So the fastest new option is 3 powers and the top option you posted goes 8.93 faster.. "significant" might be employed generously here. Does Evasive Maneuvers now only require 1 pool pick to select? If you don't slot a flight enhancement, is it essentially the same? 3 power picks and 'encouraged' slotting to go marginally faster does not in my mind equate to "ensure flight was fast without 3 powers".
-
If the large goal was to ensure flight was fast without 3 powers.. why not just boost to Fly? If the team wanted to add something, a popup that made Fly go faster and be done with it. Why monkey with multiple existing powers if this was about speed? In my opinion: Only Affecting Self > might work sometimes Seems like this possibly underwhelming result in speed does not outweigh lost functionality. Increases in flight speed was the leg these changes had to stand on.

Is there something that costs more than 2B you are saving up for?
-
I believe most everyone would like to fly faster. (am I off the mark there?) Unfortunately, that's not what these changes are about. If they were, simply increasing the speed and cap then walking away would suffice. Instead we're gonna get a fix on top of a fix to fix the fix of the initial flawed change. Take the blinders off.

You may be onto something. There was a point, if I remember correctly, where villains only went to level 40. That may have been the peak of the game for many.

Incarnates and max builds effecting the rest of the game again..

No you can't ignore the combo mechanic.. sorry, that is simply a lame point to try and promote. I get what you're saying but no. Swapping the power positions pretty much forces TF use. If someone is looking from a 'skip to 50' perspective I can see how they might feel it's the same but better.

I can tell you, as someone who played it back on live before and after it's nerf and who played it on Homecoming before and after it's "Buff", it's different now. Not everyone will get the same mileage or enjoyment from the re-envisioned Energy Melee set. If a player dislikes combo mechanics, chances are they will dislike the new energy melee. Tanks.. there is a can of worms. They did get an increase to number of targets for many attacks which = more damage over all. Raising aggro caps slightly, maybe. The Homecoming team has done a good job to allow the game to function well on modern computers. For that and making the game available, they deserve kudos. @Sapharan Lots of other options available which may replace some of those old favorites. Still lots of fun to be had if you missed the old game.

who uses discord anyway? meh.

I may be reading it incorrectly. If so, ignore my comments here. Trading.. just no. If you are proposing trading some current regen rate for absorb that is a different power set. I would cease to be Regeneration. It becomes something akin to force fields for melee. If adding additional absorb.. be grudgingly, I would accept it. ----------------------- Also "flat-rate WALL against damage" This would only be true if Regeneration had one set rate, which it doesn't. The powers don't need to be used all at once. In my experience, they are situational.
